I will not mention the lady's ID just yet in case I am crying wolf but is this lady a potential scammer? I received a first letter from a lady here and she had a private email address and she told me to write to her there. So I replied and later that day I received a reply from her and it seemed like an email from a nice genuine lady. I later logged on to the site and found I had received another letter from her which was exactly the same as the first letter - word for word, EXCEPT the email address she was asking me to write was different from the first. The difference in timeframe between these letters was 1 day. What do you make of that??? Am I being paranoid or does that sound a bit suspect? I received another email from her today which I shall not reply to and it seems to be very suspicious. For example, she told me what she earns which wasn't much and this was only her second letter. Her profile has been deleted from this site. This is the 4th email I have received from her in the space of a week and I have decided to play along to see where it goes. Here is the email. I am posting it here in the hope that it helps others from potenially being conned. Notice she signs the email as my girlfriend now, before it was my friend. Any feedback would be appreciated:- Good afternoon my Rob. Thank for your new letter. I am very glad that you write me. It is very interesting to me to read your letters. You see they open you as persons and I very much like all that you write. You have many qualities which I I like also which would like to see at my future husband. In the person to me its honesty first of all is important. Probably it because I very much frequently to be deceived in people and consequently I to appreciate this quality most above. You see anything is not present more important than honesty and ability to speak that you think and to assert the position. You with me agree? I to search such person. I am tired that constantly betray me and on this I am glad that you in the letters are fair. We write each other not yet long and I to know much about you and to i made for myself conclusions. It is very pleasant for me to communicate with you. Under your past letters at me to develop about you very good opinion and I would be glad to find out about you the new facts which to convince me of that that I to make a correct choice having written to you the first letter. I have asked her questions in previous emails and hardly any of them have been answered. She only answered one of my questions about her previous relationships. It is like she is working from some form of template. If you look at the beginning of the thread I am referring to the same person here who wrote to me twice on successive days the same message with different email addresses. As a result, Olga removed her profile. Plus, if you notice she is now referring to me as her girlfriend. Come on - a sincere FSU woman would not write this and come on string like this so soon, especially after telling me of a relationship where she was betrayed badly. Once bitten, twice shy! I am writing to other women from this site and I am receiving some nice letters and none of them are like this. Plus I ran a check on her IP address and it is coming from a different city but in the same region to the one she says she is from. Of course, there is a margin for error when running an IP address check. Martin_UK - in my reply to this email I have asked her for a phone number so that we can talk. Let's see how she reacts to that. izifaddag - no it is neither Katia or Irina. I wish to keep the lady annonymous for the moment. She can't harm anyone else here as her profile has been removed. However, I did receive a letter from a Katia which was also suspicious. IP addresses aren't that accurate but does she write from the same computer all the time but claim to be writing from an internet cafe whereas she wouldn't be, all the time, using the same computer or indeed claim to be writing from the same computer but with different IP addresses? I am treating this as a learning experience to see how a scammer lures her victims, and of course I am waiting for the question concerning asking for money. Thanks for the tip on the cheap calls. With my ex-girlfriend (who was Russian whom I met through a friend) I would call her using Just Dial (www.justdial.co.uk) and it would cost 10p/min weekdays and 5p/min weekends. I will share my expericenes with her on a new thread. I have one hell of a story to tell about her. Her IP address is the same from all her emails from what I can gather. It is a bit tricky to determine anything accurate from this because she said that she has internet access at work. But nonetheless, I am suspicious. It has all the hallmarks of a scammer.
