I dont know how many of you guys spend much time on the phone with your girls in the Ukraine but I have found that cingular wireless has significantly reduced their international rates to the ukraine and it appears to the other fsu countries as well. I believe that cingular is available pretty much throughout the United States. If you use their service and get something called their international connect plan for $3.99 a month their call rates to the ukraine are $.30 per minute wireless to wireless or $.23 a minute wireless to land line throughout the day.
They are gsm and have a pretty good selection of quad band phones (i got a motorola) so when you travel there they have assured you can take your phone from here and transition it to use there as well as being called from the U.S. there by just dialing you normal number.
I have always had a lot of trouble using a phone card for connection clarity , I have used this service for about a month now and it has worked out fine.
thanks Izi i will check that out as well, I am on the phone to her pretty much every day and the phone charges over the last year have been pretty amazing :(
My phone connectivity is practically none from my home phone to their cell phone. I can hear their phone ring but they do not . Even if they do receive the call it usually is very distorted and we cant hear eachother then it finally disconnects in a short while. It does not matter what card company i use because it all goes through the same line with the same result. Verizon said it is not my problem but the Ukraines . Any other country works well . This sucks very much.
the wireless company said the same to me for almost 3 months until someone in their technical department figured out it was in the "network connection" where it leaves the U.S. from you local carrier he reworked it for me when i told him it was really the only number i consistently called. After it was done the change in connection was exceptional to the point after the first call she told me to "stop yelling" I had the same problem with cingular until i told them that i could use my old carrier with my other phone and get twice the reception in the same place at the same time....they reworked it last week with the same result
I dont know where the blame is really. Verizon had their technicians do the same thing yours did with the same number i call regularly and they said everything looked good all the way through the last checkpoint here....... I give up and e-mailing still sucks..
