Im wondering how many guys here have gone through the process of sponsoring a girl from Ukraine to Australia. I have not started the process yet. I am a little frustrated at the incredible red tape involved and the very low chances of getting a fiance visa for example approved particularly through Moscow. I have not started the process at all. But I am looking at going on a holiday early next year with a few friends. And am wondering incase I actually meet a girl I like what i should do before hand. For example I would prefer to meet someone face to face but i have heard that a lot of men write for 6 months before hand then meet . Which apparently strenghtens the case. Im always wondering about another issue. Moscow seems to expect you to spend a considerable amount of time with a girl but not take into account that you are from another country and can't leave work all the time. Is there a way that anyone else has found on here that lets visit a girl once and having a succesful visa application? Anyone know any good legal people involved with Ukraine who know how the process works . Surely they must be aware that trun-over here is not so great that they have been forgotten. Of course, he/she or anyone else is welcome to post (in my humble opinion - for whatever that is worth) as long as their comments are not abusive. But if i had a notorious past - and decided to revsit the forum - I would at least choose a different ID. Its so easy. I would rather do that than just raise eyebrows by claiming I was NEW.... That way, when you hit the Shift key, the first letter in proper nouns will be capitalized and the rest will be lower case, and not the other way around. Visit the Australian embassy site in Moscow www.australianembassy.ru and it will tell you all you need to know. Also visit DIMA Website(Department of Immigration of Multicultural Affairs) www.dima.gov.au for Australia. There is a minimum income requirement to "sponsor her" for a fiance visa (prospective spouse ) of $33,000 per annum before tax ( proven taxable income from ATO records ) for the last 2 years with no periods of unemployment or collection of centrelink benefits in that period of time or you will not qualify as her spouse to sponsor. You can not have sponsored a previous foreign fiance within the last 5 years before the application and you can not have been married to more than 2 foreign brides in your lifetime or you will not qualify for it. No immigration lawyer can fast track anything..these are the rules. She must be of good character ( no criminal record for serious offence such as fraud, theft, drug use, prostitution or violent crime ) and be of good health ( have no medical conditions deemed by Australian authorities to be a signifacant cost on the health care system ) for if she does not meet these requirements to the satisfaction of the authorities she will never get a visa. SHE WILL NEVER BE ISSUED WITH A TOURIST VISA FOR AUSTRALIA..FORGET IT..DOES NOT HAPPEN! This is not simple process at all and money can not speed up or buy her way in. You can not marry her in the Ukraine either. That disqualifies you for a SUB-CLASS 300 VISA and it becomes a SPOUSE VISA which requires you to have lived with her for 12 months in her country and prove your ties in marriage emotionally and financially before she can apply for a "spouse visa" to Australia. A lot of rubbish is peddled on this site by people who don't know. I have actaully had a foreign wife and gone through the Australian fiance visa system myself a number of years ago..the only difference now is that it has become a lot harder to get a fiance visa and suceed and FSU girls are "red flagged" as potential immigraion scammers now because of widely media publicised stories of "immigration scmas involving FSU women" and these are more scrutinised and investigated than others and she will be interviewed ( I call it an interrrogation ) by immigration officers should she apply for an Australian Fiance Visa and you will be questioned as well. Australia is a harder country than the United States to get one of these Russian etc. girls in! ITS NOT BLOODY SIMPLE AT ALL!
