Meeting wonderfully generous people in many different countries and finding love along the way. Nothing like a little romance to cement good feelings about a place in one's memory. It's no easy task to condense the essence of different cultures into one short post on a forum like this. However, my experience of Russia is little different to other countries. Some good. Some bad. Yet, the FEEL of a place can be very different as can generally held values. As a younger man, visiting the U.S., in uniform, with my Brit accent, I was a babe magnet whether I wanted to be or not. American women were enthusiastic, sex very casual with little resistance and most wanted to have fun. The pleasure principle or instant gratification. 'Just do it' the mantra. I married an American, who was the love of my life but fell foul of some very serious cultural differences. For all of her wonderful qualities, she was selfish, spoiled, unrealistic, driven and material and I was just one of the priorities in her life not THE priority. Her beliefs conditioned by a value system more concerned with your output than who you are. Yes. There are scammers in Russia. So what? There are scammers in the States too. They are called Chief Executives, politicians, marketing departments, media moguls. How many times has someone pretended to be interested in you and to befriend you, just to try and sell you something? They say travelling broadens the mind. I can only conclude, from your narrow viewpoint, that you have little experience of the world. You claim the moral high ground while showing scant tolerance, understanding, compassion or balance in your statements. Just a prejudiced, interfering, busybody. I applaud all men who seek women with qualities they admire, no matter where in the world. It's a wonderful place if you see it as such. If two people want to be together, it's nobody's business but theirs. Yes, the naive or inexperienced can get caught out by the unscrupulous. They just have to use a little caution and remember..
