yesterday was a good day my papers were approved for my moldovian princess and her son now to the next stage they received them on 10-12-05 and approved on 12-22-05 things are going great see yall hammer
Congradulations, I know you waited a long time for this day. I also have a Moldavian princess, I hope you and yours have many happy years together. I will be going through the same process in a few months myself, so I hope you don't mind if I ask a couple of questions. How long did you have to wait until you got your approval? Did you use a lawyer?
I read this forum often, but don't write very much because of all the name calling and other stuff currently going on. I decided to write this time because your post is something positive and helpful, unlike half of what is being written here lately.
You are just a few weeks behind me. Our documents were received 10-05-05 and approved 12-07-05. This week I received the NVC case number and the letter said it would be sent to the embassy in Moscow within a week. Should get an interview date soon.
Ditto above to Neon, Also you can get the website of the American Embassy of the country your lady is from. They will have all the information there also for the K1 Visa.
There are a few attorneys out there that will do your K1 application for under 400 bucks and one will even represent you if the Visa is denied, that is included in the 400 dollar fee. With that in mind and after going through it myself an attorney is not really necessary. The biggest problem we had was the acquisition of the documents in Ukraine. It was mostly time consuming and Larisa had to do some road work to get them.
Also as Neon said, Visa Journey even has sample K1 applications on their site so you can see how they are properly filled out.
Also I'm sure Jetmba would help you with any questions since he did a K1 for a lady from Moldova and he didn't use a lawyer either.
I did do a K1 for a lady from Moldova and I would certainly be willing to help with any question you might have.
Either ask here in this forum - or to avoid contoversy with our resident "married guys" who are here just to rant once in a while, send me a personal email.
well they recieved on 10-12-05 ans approved on 12-22-05 i did use a lawyer and things are going great like you i dont write much here but you can email me and ill answer what i can also jetmba can also help ill keep all informed as things move on hammer
The K1 Visa process in the United States is not a horrible nightmare some have claimed. From the date of filing the petition to the interview date has been approximately 103 days for us. Acquisition of documents in Ukraine made the process a little slower. Not as easy as here in the states where I had to make only 3 phone calls to acquire the documents I needed.
If I remember correctly for Ditto it was something like 96 days from the date of his petition until he actually brought his wife to the States.
I will be leaving at the end of January to meet Larissa in kiev for her interview, then spend 10 days in Mariupol with her to say goodby to her friends. All of her friends are very happy and support of her move and as of this date no one has said anything negative about her moving.
When she received her packet her mom said she had something to show her and she should start dancing happily. Her mom is really funny and also very supportive of this move.
on friday recevied letter from visa center that all papers will be sent to romania in 1 week now waiting on interveiw date things are getting better everyday hammer
But this seems to be missing a step. The embassy, on notification that your papers are being sent by the National Visa Center, will send Packet IV (often called the Appointment Package) to your fiance in Moldova. This will include information on the medical exam, and a checklist regarding the police report etc. and she has to send return certain papers to the embassy as soon as possible for the interview appointment to be set up. Which papers would exactly be included, we figured out in advance and had already prepared copies for her to sign and send in. Since the papers actually sent by the embassy were SLIGHTLY different - fo course, my fiance transcribed the details and signed the papers - after consulting with me.
VERY QUICKLY later we received notification that the interview had been approved and scheduled. I had it set up so I believe I received an email.
Hey guys, It is good to hear that Hammer, and Neonred are doing well in the process. I also am at the same same step as you 2 , with only a few days difference. My lady is waiting now for the package from Moscow that Jetmba has mentioned. Good luck to you both, as we all will need it. Bob

For all the hot dogs out there. We are back here in South Bend. I would advise anyone with access to O'Hare international airport being in a close proximity to their homes to use that as the point of access for their K1 ladies. I walked up to the visitors line in immigration, told them Larisa had a K1 visa, they stamped my declaration card, took her package and stamped her visa and we were sent to customs. Gave customs our information. Total elapsed time from immigration to customs, 35 minutes, no green room, no waiting no bullshit. Real easy and not pressure for the ladies. Out on the street and headed to South Bend.
Mike that is really great news. Just curious...did you fly Lot airlines. That is an option for me as they have a flight from Lviv to Poland to O'Hare. It must be a wonderful feeling to have all the bulls**t over with.
