There has been a number of threads about the legitimacy of a lady when you ask for telephone information and she does not provide it. Here's my question: I have been exchanging a few letters with a lady on Cindy Agency. I suggested to her in the last letter that it would be good to have a phone conversation some time soon. I said that we could use the translation service through the Cindy Agency if she wanted to give me her phone number. This was her reply:
"This is great idea about having a phone conversation with you.
And as far as I know, you can arrange phone conversation through the agency even without my phone number, because I don't
know all codes to call me from your country. Just contact the agency and know everything about it." Now at first, I could see where there may be some question about the legitimacy of this lady and/or agency. Remember, I was the one who suggested using the agency for the phone call. All of my correspondence thus far has appeared genuine, all questions referenced and answered in all letters, acknowledging and asking about my daughters, and now suggesting I come to visit sometime after I dropped the hint. Any feedbackon this phone response would be apprecitated. Thanks!
Rich, there is something not right about her statement. All she needs to do is give you her complete phone number. Then all you need to do is use the international access number...in the US it is 011...then dial her country code...you can find that in any phone book...then her number. Example... to call Ukraine you would dial 011 then 380 (Ukraine country code) then the number. It would be formatted something like this ### ## ## ##. It is not rocket science. Plus I assume her letters are being translated by the agency and if so any one of the people in the office could advise her. Probably the agency is trying to keep control of the situation, just a thought.
RK,
The international code for Ukraine is 380, all mobiles begin 8067, all one needs to do is add a 3 in front of the mobile number and indeed many ladies have friends numbers programmed into their phone beginning +380. If it is a landline she only needs to give you the city code onwards, any half-knowledgable guy can work out to put the country code in front of it. Therefore the excuse(s) that you have been given are 100% bullshit.
I have had it, previously, on very good authority that Cindy Agency often send the letters, not the ladies, but this seems mainly to occur after a guy registers with Cindy, did you register and then wait for ladies to write to you and might this be how this relationship began RK?
This definately sounds like Cindy Agency have been writing the letters and not the lady but it has always been difficult to prove it seems, until now!
When I used Cindy agency to write a girl I asked for her mobile number and she gave it to me no problem. I then had my interpreter in Kiev call her on my behalf to introduce themselves and to plan our future meeting in Kiev. All worked out great! I ended up losing her to another guy but I still had a wonderful time with her in Kiev. I would never use this three way phone call thing. Its a bigger rip off than email forwarding. But he offered it up and to backtrack his statement may not fly with this girl. You can call any girl in Ukraine on her mobile phone and it is free for her. No charges incoming. Even if you call her from a land line at home. The mobile Martin mentioned is Kiev Star which begins with 067 and they have now expanded to 097. Then there is UMC which uses 050 and Jeans which uses 066. And I think there is a new company that just came out. So the competition is growing and the rates are going down and down. Getting their mobile number is great too because you can then send an SMS (Text message) to them. This is their most popular form of communication.
Martin...this girl is one I initiated the contact with, and as I mentioned earlier, I suggested using the agency for the three way (phone call!). I wrote another letter this weekend letting her know she doesn't need to know anything except her phone number. If the agency is playing with this, I'm giving a little latitude for them to bow out gracefully over the phone number and see what is in my next letter from the lady.I also mentioned I always research the reputation of the agency I am using to ensure it is reputable, so both of us don't end up being frustrated in the end. I hope the agency picked up on my "hidden message" when they translated the letter.
