I have been writing to one girl who I am still not sure about...letter content, etc. She says she is writing from an internet cafe, but her IP header shows she is using "the bat" professional version. At the end of the last letter, she writes: "PS: R..., can you give me your full adress and I'll try to send you a greeting card and maybe a small gift."
Anybody experience that before? Any feedback? Thanks.
I have met one girl at a pub. She is Russian. We had a couple drinks. She looks nice though I am not sure yeat. Right now we are at her apartment and I am using her computer to send my post here. Anybody knows how to determine The Bat's version? I am trying to figure this out. She is lying naked in the next room and calling me to come and have sex with her but I don't know if I should... May be she is a scammer? Guys, all the hope is on you, how can I f... someone not knowing her Bat's version?
:-))))))
People, do only I find this guy ridiculous? I can't understand this. This is either paranoya or just stupidity.
What harm can be caused by letting the girl living thousands miles from you to know your postal address. Will she send her fellow hugs to rob you or will she ask her friend general to destroy your house with the ultimate long distance misle???
Felicedate,
In fairness it seems that RK is just starting out on a process to find a lady in a sub-continent, or two, that was effectively closed off to the western world for many years.
No doubt RK has listened to or read too many scam reports but perhaps being ultra careful is more wise of him, and should not necessarily be detered, than being foolhardy such as a particular Australian national was very recently.
Felicedate, what did you learn to do first, walk or run? RK is just learning to walk, hopefully he'll get there soon, perhaps he'll never run a marathon but just jogging might do nicely!
felice navidad or what ever your name is...please don't tell me you're from the US...we have a hard enough time combating our image as smart ass, arrogant Americans and your comments only solidify that.
Get a grip! Out of over 1500 letters in the past few months, this is the first time anybody has ever asked me for my home address. Since I've been on this forum, I've heard more about scams and what "the bat" and everything else means than I have ever.
Please don't use your "I'm so good at this" attitude to belittle others questions. One should feel free to ask any one about anything, and comments such as yours only keep people from wanting to join or participate in a forum, no matter how "stupid" your ego thinks something is.
Martin...you are correct. A steady jog vs. a sprint. I'd rather ask the experienced people, or even non-experienced, their feedback, because everybody interprets things differently.
RK
Felice aka Alex is from Belarus. As for the American image I wouldn't let it bother you so much. When you get over and see the French and some of the others, we're mere pikers in the arrogance department.
Though Alex is making a valid point, don't get caught up in analysis paralysis syndrome. If a girl asks you for your home address ask for hers. It's only reasonable. The only way you can get scammed is if you don't use common sense. Don't send money to someone you have never met in person and even after use common sense. Don't give out personal information, phone numbers and addresses are okay, can't do much damage there. The scams are all pretty similar with little variation on the themes.
Relax RK and enjoy the ride.
Also Felice can be a great resource for the new guys. He had an agency at one time. So he understands the flipside of this very well. Just remember RK there are scammers on both sides of this, the men and the women. There are many guys that are just wasting a girls time at the keyboard and have no intention of ever going to visit them. So maybe this girl asking for your address is similar to asking a girl for hers and seeing if she is legitimate.
RK, you've received 1500 letters in the past few months??? 750 letters a month? 25 letters a day? Are you serious? It's a full-time job for you.
Some girls will ask for your address; I've received a few paper letters and cards from ladies. I don't think it's anything to worry about--which is what felice was trying to say in his own way.
VNV...thanks for your comments. Yes, I've honestly received over 1500 letters in the past few months...not two months, though. Over the past five months , I've averaged about 9-10 per day. I am registered on a couple of sites, and I have initiated letters on another, where, like this one, you pay one fee per month for unlimited correspondence. I have met many good girls in all those, and a lot of not so good/scammer types. Once I discovered this forum, I learned of more things to help decipher the good from the bad, as much as possible anyway. And no, i don't pay to read or answer all of the letters.
Thanks for instilling a little confidence over the thread...that's all I was looking for.
RK.
Sorry for abeing a bit harsh. Simply The last your post made me laugh to much.
Here we have a good Russian proverb "You should have your own head on the shoulders". Before asking some ridiculous, really ridicolus things, think them over yourself. A man becomes a REAL man only after he begins to make his own decisions.
How do you think, will your future wife be too pleased to learn that you have asked some maniacs in some forum what you should do with her.
I don't know if you have noticed it or not, but guys here ask for advise only in some really smelly situations. By the way, for a long time one can even not bother to ask questions because all the problems have been discussed here for dozens times each. One can just read the forum and if he survives this crap heap without vomitting and if he de doesn't abandone the very idea of marrying a Russian girls immediately(these two things are the most likely to happen to a guy who reads the forum from the beginning to the end), he will be smart enough never to post to this forum.
Felicedate,
He's not asking other guys to make his decisions for him, he's asking other guys for advice, opinions, to assist him in making his own decisions.
And my Ukrainian wife, who I shall be seeing tomorrow, is fully aware that I chat on forums often warning western men of the pitfalls of the Russian, indeed Ukrainian, woman. Likewise her friends will ask me for advice, and I will give it, regarding the pitfalls of the western man.
Martin, at least you have never asked people here what you should do with your future wife.:-) Am I right?
I can distinguish the difference between asking for an advise and asking for what to do.
felicedate,
You are correct, I have never asked, as you put it, some maniac in some forum, what I should do, indeed when I started dating FSU ladies there were no such forums thus I had to learn it the hard way, by the time the forums came along I had already learnt most of what I needed to know.
felice...martin seems to understand exactly what I'm doing. If you read my post, I do not ask anybody what to do. I say that after five months and 1500 letters, I have never had anybody ask me for my contact info and simply asked people on this forum if they had ever expericenced this or had any feedback. In the Western world, this is not considered asking someone to make a decision for them. As nas mentioned in an earlier thread, you are a former agency owner, so seeing something like this may seem riduculous. Having spent many years in the military, we have a saying called "attention to detail". In recent years, as a reservist, Ii have spent my fair share of time in a combat environment, and I can assure you, peoples lives have been lost because of a lack of attention to detail. While we're not comparing apples to apples, that principle has carried over to my personal life as well. It has nothing to do with being a man and making decisions...it has to do with learning the facts, learning from others mistakes, and making the best decision possible.
I'm sure there are many things you do not know about the airline industry in the US or the US Navy, which happens to be my professional and military career fields. I'm sure there would be questions from you I would possibly laugh off or sound ridiculous, but that's not the intent of a question. Always remember...the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask.
VNV...I've made trips to Lithuania, Romania, and Moldova. I made a trip to Kiev, but that trip was a nightmare and I only spent two nights there. That is a learning experience I'll never forget, although I am going back better prepared. Make sure your credit card/ATM card is useable. I had changed credit unions about three weeks before I went to Kiev. Having read it is best to bring a couple hundred USD in cash and get the rest out locally from the ATM's, that's what I did. Unfortunately, when my card did not work at any ATM, bank, or merchant, I called and found out my credit union does not allow the use of it in any way, shape, or form in Ukraine! There's a more to this as far as why I just flew back, but that was the jist of it all. I was just going to meet a buddy who was there on business and take in the night life for a couple of days and then go back. I did meet a couple of nice ladies though...just not my type.
HOWEVER...I am leaving next week on a trip tp Japan, Thailand, Moscow, Ukraine, and Romania. I'm meeting up with my brother in Japan and Thailand who is there on military business. Romania is to go skiing with a couple of buddies I made when I was there the last time. Moscow and Ukraine will be time for meeting people I have been corresponding and communicating with online and hopefully meet someone who captures my heart and I capture theirs.
