Anascamyaweb is often mentioned on this forum so I thought you guys might find this direct quote of interest. You can find it toward the bottom (of course) of their "anti-scam" page (how appropriate). The site has some very good-looking women and probably a lot of women who know some very good photographers. I will continue following this quote:
Here is a direct quote from the anascamyaweb "anti-scam" page:
>"Some agencies perform matchmaking services for their ladies by looking through our database of men and forwarding a lady's introductory letter to men in our system. We consider this practice to be a proper, wholly ethical and appropriate matchmaking service performed for the ladies on our system by their local agencies. We do not consider this practice to be fraudulent correspondence."<
There's certainly nothing wrong with affiliate agencies sending standard intro letters on the behalf of women they think might be appropriate. THE PROBLEM IS THEY REFUSE TO DIFFERENTIATE THESE "MATCHMAKING" LETTERS FROM LEGITIMATE CORRESPONDENCE!!!!!! There's no way to tell by looking at your in-box which letters were sent by the ladies versus by the agency. Such a practice is out-right fraud.
The only way to get around it is to never open any letters, that includes responses. Send only one letter with a Ukrainian or Russian woman's contact phone number along with all your contact info.
Yeah they had to put that on their official website because they were getting so much shit from their clients who complained about these so called letters sent on the ladies behalf. Your right, if they consider this practice legitimate then they should offer such letters at a discount instead of the full $8 per letter price. How this website continues to stay in business is beyond me.
