The weather in Simferopol was like a spring day yesterday and about +3C and from what I see, it's the same today. The forecast is for it to get colder by next tuesday or wednesday -6C, but only for a few days. The worst is over. :-) Your laptop is as safe as it would be anywhere. Just use common sense and you'll be fine. Checked your voltage? 220v there. I took my laptop to Ukraine with no problems. Lap tops are great because I downloaded a lot of photos of my home town and family to show the lady I was visiting. I also made some videos and she appreciated those too. Used the converter for recharging my shaver and cameras. The thirty bucks for the converter was well worth it.
