We have been video chatting through her agency weekly for several months now, at $40 an hour, so I figure if we are going to continue, leaving an inexpensive laptop with her, and paying for an internet card makes more sense. Do people have acess to a high speed alternative in their apartments? Regular MSN messenger is not an issue, but for video chats, high speed is basicaally a must. Any other comments about this plan? Your lady would have to contact her cable co for availability and cost. Most plans as I understand will have different levels of service based on amount of data transfered. We have downgraded from unlimited usage at $60 per month to a lesser plan at $30 per month. I do not have the specifics as to Mbyte limits but the lower level we are at now is sufficiant for a couple of hours of video conferencing every Sunday and her son using it for online gaming every day.
