Don't you know that those jobs you are trying to fill with FSU students belong to all the fine, self-righteous upstanding citizens living south of the border as a God-given right? Why would you want to bring educated/student white people, most with some English ability into the USA? What this country needs is more illiterate morons coming from a background of mud huts and tin shacks...this will really raise our standard of living.
And Travellerva, don't come back with some lame excuse about these educated white Eastern European people just wanting jobs. Haven't you been following the news? If you had been watching our news media you would know that only those living south of the border are entitled to any available employment in the USA. When have you seen anyone in the media even vaguely reference that there might be people other than native Spanish speakers who actually want to come to the USA?
I'm currently vacationing outside the USA prior to my arrival in Ukraine next week. Here's a situation that has always aggravated the Hell-out-of-me and has only been exascerbated by current events. I spent time with a very nice couple from Novosibirsk Russia staying at the same resort. Both are educated, speak passable English, and each owns a business. They have two houses. She is expecting their first child.
I told them they would be welcome to stay at my home in Florida, vacation, and visit Disneyworld and other tourist attractions whenever they would like, but added that it would be nearly impossible for them to obtain a Visa.
Now contrast these sophisticated Russian would-be tourists with Juan Sh#t-bag who just waltz's across the southern border on his own whim with no education or English ability, bringing nothing more than two peso's and a switchblade in his pocket. Then rather than pump money into the economy as a tourist, he suck's up all the social services, commits a string of crimes and finally spends time in the slammer (at your expense), before getting out just in-time to join a protest rally denouncing the USA for wanting to send him home.
Then of course we issue him a Green Card and make him a citizen....all the while our would-be Russian visitors continue to be denied a tourist Visa.
I had to come out of the shadows after reading your post Buffed. You hit the nail right on the dam head, this country is f***ed up and I'm watching each day as we all take a nice ride right into the gutter. More and more everyday I see these scumbags waltz into my neighborhood taking over the place while our wonderful government just sits with their thumbs right up there asses. This shit makes me so sick I wanna puke. They dont pay taxes cuz there illegal, they send every penny back to their country. Use up our services and tax money as they need it and then tell us the way its gonna be around here. Now the pussy government is bending over to let them shove a nice long stck right up our ass. We ought to put a nice big bullseye on the sears tower and the statue of liberty telling the psycho muslims here we are, just stick it right up our asses cuz we like it like that. Those rallies should be turned into massive deportations then lets see how they come out of the woodwork. We cant deport them all, what a pussy president we have caving into those special interest scumbags. The spanish language sucks and im dam tired of hearing it more than I do english around here. Cant believe im bringing a woman here, I should be going there and getting the hell outta this place
LOL @ buffed & skiired.... Gentlemen, your points of view are exactly why I am bringing in young, educated college students from FSU countries. IF you think to sit back and let the gov't figure out what to do about those that cross our border from the south illegally you would be sadly mistaken by any results that come out.
I have taken the positive approach and am doing something about it. Not only for me, but those fine students. They come in on a student visa and are willing, ready and able to work. Oh, and it's great to hear them practicing their english, at least they try to.
But that wasn't the point that I was trying to make concerning the ppl that I am working with from the FSU countries. When the students tell me that their professors are only making $250 a month and they can double that in a week working here, you know the more than a few will try to stay in this country even if their heart is still back home.
RK from here came and visited me a few months back, I took him to the clubs and places they work at, he was more than surprised at how many FSU women were here.
It's great to see someone who see's the insanity. Anyone of us involved in seeking a long term relationship with an FSU woman can't help but be foaming at the mouth at the situation. We're spending a big chunk of change, filling-out all sorts of forms, waiting (and hoping) at least six months for the government to grant a freaking 90 day Visa to bring an invited guest over at our expense. Meanwhile, any low-life can just walk across the border, help themselves to our tax dollar funded social services, take jobs, and then demand citizenship.
This is complete lunacy!! Why don't we all just say F?"k-it and buy our FSU babe a plane ticket to Mexico and have her walk-over the border. This way we can not only avoid financial support liability, we can also have the Government pay for any medical or educational services. She'll also get here much sooner. Even better, she can stay as long as she wants instead of being limited to 90 days. We don't have to go through all the paperwork for her Green Card, she can just apply for amnesty.
Skirred, you're right about the linguini-spined politicians trying to promote the propaganda lie about not being able to deport them all. Just cut-off the jobs and social services. Issue a blanket ninety-day-to-leave-the-country notice with the only incentive being that no penalty on future applications to enter the country legally would be applied. After that anyone here illegally would be subject to a ten thousand dollar fine. If the alien can't pay it, their home country would be liable for the fine. This would put pressure on the home country to crack-down on their citizens violating our immigration laws.
Cutting-off the financial incentive would send a large number of them packing. For the remaining stragglers, a reward system could be established for reporting them, ideally partially funded by the fine money revenue...although it would be worth paying tax dollars just to get rid of this vermin.
The other "big lie" being perpetrated is "doing jobs Americans won't do." There will be some disruption for the economy to re-calibrate for the tax-payer subsidized labor, but eventually the job market will adjust to the economic reality. Any American will do any job, for the right price.
According to Travellerva's estimate, 75% of the FSU student workers return home.......I wonder what percentage of south-of-the-border illegal immigrants choose to return?
And for all others that want to bring in their corresponding FSU women to the states but have problems with visas, I have a solution to that problem. Additionally, those that have a new bride from any FSU country that are having problems with them being unemployed for 6 months after they are getting here in the US, I have a solution for that also. I cannot help my fellow members of this site from other countries other then the US, that is not where my expertise is, and for that I apologize for that. Enough said......
travellerva, your work with bringing all those students to work here is a very good thing. My girlfriend could benefit for something like this. How could i make this happen for her to come here to work?
Hi
I met my girlfriend on the internet 3 years ago we finally met in June in Bulgaria and then I went to Chisinau where we met again.
She has tried 3 times for a visitor visa and has always been refused now we would like to get married in the future but it seems that the British embassy wont give her a visa regardless of evidence etc
If she applied for a visitor or tourist visa, by herself, then she probably would be refused, email the consulate, try to make friends with them, sincerely explain the situation to them and see what can be done.
If that doesn't work then it is probably because, although it is the UK consulate, you are communicating with Moldavians with a 'Job's Worth' attitude thus next time you are down there telephone for an appointment with the Consul or Vice-Consul.
To explain this a little further, some 5 years ago I went to the UK embassy in Tashkent with my then intended, there were dozens of locals queueing outside but as soon as I flashed the British Passport it was 'come this way sir'. I befriended the Vice-Consul 'Dave', was 100% honest with him, and when 'she' subsequently attended her fiancee interview it went like clockwork.
Applications are one thing but you need to support her application and be pro-active in the application. some 6 years ago I got a lady across from SPb for a week in UK, I supported her application by means of a letter that I would be providing for her air travel, her accommodation and day to day living expenses in UK, the consulate in SPb chose to telephone interview me before issuing the visa, the guy questioned if we intended to get married on the visitor visa, I replied that I had been single for forty something years and that situation weren't about to change in the next week or so. I even swore, in banter, with him which he laughed at but because I was 100% honest with him she got the visa and the two of us hadn't even met at that time and the consulate knew it.
Well Felix here is my French experience!I just came back from Chisinau and meet a beautiful girl 38 years old(I am 50 but look a lot younger!)but few letters are not anough to make a right opinion and when you feel ready the only way to see if she is sincere is to go there! That what I did and i dont regret it since we falled in love and we are now trying to get a visa for her comming in France witch is a lot more complicate!!But you must at list talk to her on the phone before any decision,Good luck!
Philvern,
Precisely how much time did you occupy with this lady before you, as you say, fell in love?
I guess we are talking a matter of days, as a mature 50 year old would you proclaim to fall in love with a French lady within a similar time span, do you know this lady well enough to truly be in love with her and KNOW that you want to occupy the rest of your life with her?
I ask because I made a similar mistake some 5 years ago and I think you're realise you're taking things irresponsibly quickly if you take a look at the mirror at yourself!
Thanks for your advice , I went to the (British Embassy)Chisinau with her at her last application where the ECO asked her why she wanted to come to the uk to visit me when I was there in Moldova. I have tried explaining to them that my parents are too ill to travel and they would like to meet her but this has made no difference
Hi, my first post on this forum - for what it's worth, so here goes...
To cut a long story short, back in '93 I arranged to meet up with a lovely Ukrainian girl from Kiev, she was 25 and myself 39 at the time. We'd coresponded regularly via email and phone for 2-3 months leading up to that. I arranged for us to meet on holiday in Turkey for 2 weeks and in the end had a marvelous time together, hardly spending a moment apart. During that time, I found her to be far more cultured than myself, loving, humourous, tactful, respectful, in fact had most if not all the traits we guys are generally looking for from women from the FSU. She was a PA earning above the national average wage (circa $150!), shared an apartment with her sister, had a mobile etc. Life for her was comfortable, had a good family, job, place to live.
As she explained to me and this is really the point of my post, all she lacked was someone special in her life she could love, respect and care for and whom would give the same back in return. Not much to ask? She summed it up quite nicely, by saying that for her, she would much rather not to have to sacrifice everything she was used to, the upheaval of leaving her family, friends, home, job etc. If it meant though being able to share the rest of her life with a man, whom she genuinly wanted to be with, then fine so be it. At the same time though, if she was able to find a suitable guy back home, then that would be ideal also. I think the moral of this, is that for most FSU women, it it is not solely about the economics, but more about finding a guy firstly with the right qualities, whom she would feel safe and secure in being able to settle down with and raise a family, which is very important to Ukrainian women especially (I understand), seeing how they are more traditionally minded. Don't forget in THEIR culture, it is the husband's prime responsibility to provide for the family, whilst the wife is responsible for providing a comfortable home, a nice meal and raise the kids, not necessarily having a job at the same time. Maybe this is where Western women come unstuck, by trying to take too much on? Just as much as Western guys are maybe sold the virtues of the women (ie. beautiful, cultured, educated, traditional etc), they are also look for virtues in men, that theirs' apparently seem to lack currently? Will this change, once Ukraine enters the EU, in time probably so, with increased prosperity, I guess. Take Latvia as a prime example, how many women from over there do you see advertising these days?
At the end if the day, if the guys in the FSU were either more willing or able to provide for the womens/families needs (emotionally and financially), then Western guys basically wouldn't be getting a look in. I agree there are scammers and some very good ones, who are incredably good and patient at what they do, but I feel they are the minority. Cheer's.
Billy,
I haven't heard of the consulates being so 'stupid' before and I find it difficult to believe, but I believe you.
Of course one can shout 'I'm British' but if you p1ss these people off then it will not gain anything, I can only suggest that you write or talk to the consulate to the effect that for her to meet with your family will be the final step before you propose and subsequently marry (who cares whether it is the truth or not) and ask their advice for the appropriate visa to apply for.
A few years ago their main concern was that the two of you might marry on the wrong type of visa but the laws have changed in UK now and unless she has a settlement (fiancee) visa then you cannot marry in UK.
At the end of the day you could apply for a settlement (fiancee) visa which would give you 6 months to marry, you could even have a 'quickie' marriage in Moldova to then say to the consulate 'this is my wife' but surely they cannot refuse, refuse and refuse unless they have a particular objection to your lady, if they don't issue visa's then what the fock are they doing there?
Woodsy,
Agree with the content of your post, the fact is that the majority of ladies are not looking to leave the FSU and are not willing to drop at the feet of any western guy that visits.
I worked in Belgium & Luxembourg, being a UK national, for some 6 years and then talking to guys back home they said that they would love the chance to live and work abroad but when push came to shove and I was in a position to offer them their 'love' then 95% of them declined.
Talk is cheap, for many of these ladies it costs nothing or very little to advertise on the internet, for such an advert they can look forward to being wined & dined, nice clothes, nice perfumes etc. but at the end of the day the majority do not want to move to another country.
And, being married to an agency interpreter, I have it on VERY GOOD authority that many of these ladies already have a boyfriend and they will use a 'western guy bribe' into forcing him into marriage' i.e. 'If you won't marry me then I'll marry Clark Kent from America'.
Martin,
I know its stupid I cannot see any reason I have provided banks Statements prove of correspondence (E mails , Skype etc. we even went to Bulgaria to meet to satisfiy the ECO's demands and I even went to Moldova)
I have tried through my MP whop was unsuccessful and even the PHSO ombusman)
I can even send you the refusals for your own reading if you like I just dont know where to go or what to do now.
My father would like to meet my girl but hei is very ill in hospital so I have wriiten asking them to take this in to acount.
I have a comment,I am a single independent female from Florida.
I do not date mean from USA...I use to .....
I havent dated in 2 years.....then I met a guy over here on vacation from Moldova,
I had the best time, be was swet fun, great manners I loved it!!! I loved his accent
He let me buy everything and spoil him!!!NOW......
I want a guy from Moldova......but there are NONE
Martin, if I deninied to follow 10 western guys, that doesn't mean that I am not serious.
finally One DID IT.
What's wrong? Girls HAVE CHOICE. No one drops to feet of western men, bcs their intellectual level is not that high as well as level of income :) )) ) )) )
But still EVERYTHING DEPENDS UPON MEN. If he really is MMAAAAN, any girl will drop to his feet and follow him to the end of the EARTH.

Do not be maximalistic. Life is life. there are loosers, there are winners.... We buy and sell ourselves, our knowledge and qualities.
there are people able to buy and not able to buy... that that doesn't mean that they won't be able "to buy" tmrw.
Just but aa airline ticket, go to a local bar, and flash some money around (if that is truly your desire). You will certainly find guys willing to let you buy everything for them. You might even find a sweet guy with great manners.
I have to agree with you guys. Most of the girls I met in the FSU, do not want to leave. How would you like it if you had to leave all your friends, family and memories all to be with one man? The girls that join an agency do for a lot of reasons. On the other hand, some I met, always dreamed their husband would be a foreigner, especially after Westerners began marrying into their country.
I have had more than one ask how many times they could return? Most prefer 2x a year and for more than a week at a time. But there are those who will follow the money around regardless of where they are... and they don't necessarily have to love you. I have hard them say they "will learn to love you..."
Not exactly romantic but it happens...
And to say one country is a country full of scammers is obvious you are shallow-minded, cynical and a bit of an ass.
I might visit Moldova. Can you guys direct me to that agency you had good luck with there?
