I am new to this site but not new to trying to find a woman from the FSU. I actually went to the Ukraine in 2001 but the girl was just too afraid to come to the US. She had been seriously messed up in the head by a former boyfriend.
My question for this site is as I have posed on some of the others. First off I have posted a profile and have received many first emails from ladies from all over. I have also sent emails to different ladies as well. I have received notifications that the email has been read but I have not received a reply nor a decline of further correspondence. I know the women can be busy and so forth but what is the typical turn around time on receiving a reply? I am starting to question the legitimacy of this site as I have read the forum extensively. I am a VIP member so it is not a question of finances.
My past experience has been from other sites is I usually received a response within 2-3 days from my letter being received, translated etc.
Greek,
Well if you're not getting replies there could be several reason.
1. You're downright ugly (no offence intended)!
2. You're selecting ladies that are either too young or too pretty!
3. You're writing to the same ladies that 100's of other guys are writing to.
4. Your letter writing is crap.
Now you can't do anything about your physical appearance but are you happy with the photo's of yourself, if not then get some new photo's.
You need to, not saying that you aren't, select ladies of a reasonable age difference and that you fall within, age wise, their search criteria.
If you're writing to all the 'babes' well so is every other guy thus don't expect her to reply to all of you.
But, something very important, when I drafted my first letter, all those years ago, I tested the response rate and I changed the wording of that first letter, as I recall a few times, until I started receiving a reasonable response rate.
Your first letter should not be too short nor indeed too long because, as you will do to a first letter, you'll look at the photo and you'll reply to that and not page after page of bullshit.
Your letter should include an introduction about yourself, first name, age, height, weight and where you live. Without talking about your work you should state your profession and indeed you marital & children status, your interests/hobbies and then you should finish with the reason you are writing and what you hope for.
Make it a personal letter to her and try to mention her by name once or twice in the text of the letter and not merely at the top. Just make sure you change all 2 or 3 names before you resend the same letter to other ladies.
Well I can happily say I am in now way ugly. I am do some modeling and acting and I am very into fitness so I have th e body to go with it. The photos I have up are recent and not bad at all. As for your suggestions on content I have exactly what you said so I don't know. I was just trying to get some feedback, especially since I have many ladies and yes some of them the babes on the site email me first but no reply back as of yet. Oh well, no harm no foul.

You are not the only one with the problem
I joined this site last week. Sent out 10 emails and got 3 reads after a week. A very poor result.
My photo is ok and my openning note has worked like a charm priviously on free russian site.
Admittedly I hunt a very elusive prey but still expected a better result from a pay site.
Martin
Most of what you suggest to write in the intro would normally be in your profile. Dont these women think to look at the profile of someone that has written to them???
well, your photo and profile are not atractive most probably:) cancel your membership if you do not like our site:) or keep writing. some girls read emails once in two weeks. email to admin to check on your profile/ what do you expect from a pay site? some peopl receive hundreds of emails
I like really the question about the legitimacy of this site. what do you mean Geeek? read forum. this site has 8 years of history. please explain to us what is the legitimacy for dating site means?
Adman,
An intro letter is the same as advertising a product, the product being one or one's profile.
If one was a grocery item, let us say a brand of coffee, one could sit on the supermarket shelf month after month without any buyers and for the same reason the coffee company will advertise their product to entice one to buy it.
Ladies, generally, do not browse the profiles or write the first letter like men do, they merely check their inbox to read one's advertising, one needs to make the advertising attractive for them to then move on to view the profile etc.
OK, it is not just a matter of getting the letter right but the profile right also and on many sites one simply clicks boxes and then may be restricted by the number of words one may right about oneself, the letter to the opportunity to say what one wants to say and personally.
If they receive too many standardized replies, the site is full of scams. If they receive few replies, the site is not good either ... I am wondering what is the ideal number of replies. What are the expectations from a site that charges thirty bucks or so for database access. You want customized services, someone to take your hand, find you a bride, guarantee that you get married? it costs $10-20K fair and square. You want this site to guarantee you won't receive any scammer emails, they'd have to investigate every woman who posts to their site. It costs $1,000 upwards for a single private investigation. Are you willing to pay the price? This is a site where women can either post profiles individually or through an agency. If you report a suspected scammer, the administrators always investigate. I've been on and off this site for four years and I know they do a great job trying to keep their site scammer free. What they're offering to you is access to a database and their pledge (not guarantee) that they'll do all they can to keep the information as updated and accurate as possible. Know what to expect for a monthly subscription that costs a few bucks.
wtrav02,
Trying to recall my letter writing days and based on response levels, having adjusted the wording of my first letter a few times, I recall receiving an approximate 40% response rate which seemed about the best that I could reasonably hope for.
Of that 40% some were merely just clicking a reply button with a quick copy & paste never to be heard from again, some were obviously writing to many guys, some were obvious scammers and remaining were the genuine ladies.
You're right though, if a guy gets close to a 100% response rate then there's something wrong and likewise if he gets close to a zero theres something wrong also but that could be his letter writing techniques.
Be honest though wtrav02, if you were a serious minded young lady and this letter arrived in your inbox, would you bother replying to it, I know I wouldn't:

Ummm, okay Martin_UK! I really don't know what you were going for by posting what I said. Here in the States I have no problem, since you are from the UK I will put it in your terms, shagging almost any girl I come into contact with these days. That is not what I am after to tell the truth.
As for Olegnay, I have been on three other sites and the usual response time from ladies that are interested is about 3-5 days. Personally, I think anything past that is not realistic. Think about it if you will. First the guy is putting up some money to meet, what he hopes is, the girl of his dreams. He will then have to pay to go meet her at least once if not twice then pay the cost to bring her to his home country. Personally, I make 6 figures here in the States but I hate to waste money and more importantly time. I feel if a girl is really sincere and interested and is not having to pay squat, there should be a quicker turn around int communication.
I don't want some long email relationship and finally meet in a year. Let's communicate, if we match, I will fly over there and then we can really see if we are a fit.
Just because a site has been in business for 8 years does not mean there are no scammers. I knew the owner of a site that was based in San Antonio and he gave me the skinny on everything while he owned the site. I have chatted with the owner of Blue Sapphires as well and was told that anything past a week means they are either really not interested or as mentioned writing to too many men.
I don't want to get into a pissing match with anyone. I was just posing a question for some useful insight. I have been corresponding with a beautiful girl on here that wrote me first but she was not the reason I joined. The girl I really wanted to correspond with has only responded with once. Like I said before but in different terms "you win some and you lose some". I am not going to lose sleep over it that is for sure.
Hi Martin, my point was that it is not the site to blame if he doesn't receive the response rate he desires. He should try different sites, see what works, listen to others, modify his approach, it's a trial and error process for some. I think you will agree that those who were successful in this endeavor were the ones who were hands-on, used the sites only as tools to introduce themselves to a number of ladies, then moved quickly and visited the ladies. The other ones who kept writing and compiling profiles and engaged in endless reading between the lines were the ones who flopped. No need to refer to specific examples-:)
A week is most certainly forgiveable. 2 weeks is pushing, after 3 weeks - then you can start asking questions. Unless the girl has a private e-mail - then I would say to ask questions after a week. I'm having less problems by being patient.
Well then Martin_UK I must be a genius at advertizing,to address your second input on this forum, as I only wanted to browse the ladys to begin with so entered as a basic member not realizing my profile was about to be published, (first time for me in something like this)When I saw that the profile had been published I decided to leave it in the chance that someone would read my profile and write. I have recieved 18 introductory/invitational letters to date in less than three weeks! I have recieved some from outside my stated prefered group on both sides, some with some without children. Every single lady had to have taken the time to read my profile as I have yet to post any picture of myself. That, I would say, viods your statement that the girls do not read profiles, serious searchers do. I decided to write declining leters first and have even recieved replies to a few of thoseI came tothe forums to see what was being said bout various cities and possible scamms as the ladys that I have decided on iquiring deeper into possible relations twoare from Riga, Latvia and two are in Donetskk, Ukraine. I'm not sure if it wise to write to two ladys within the same town/village and as mentione above aslso I'm concerned of possible scams which I've read have happened. To GreekGod, I can only say that perhaps you ought do as Martin_UK first suggests in his firdt response and that is to be personal in your writting. I do not use a templatebut I use profile and any previous letter to draw upon what the lady is asking, looking for, what her dislikes & likes are etc and respond to that Good luck
Postman,
Interesting because to reply to those letters you had to purchase a subscription. Now I'm not suggesting anything but Donetsk is quite a hotbed for scammers thus run their full name thru a Google search, it is a concern that the ladies are concentrated from two cities when there is an entire FSO out there and it may be the case, not sugesting anything fiance.com, that some office bod in an agency is transmitting these letters to any new profile and these letters do not come from the ladies themselves.
I'm not trying to p1ss on your bonfire, I'm just offering genuine advice that all that glitters is not, perhaps, gold!
Yes I decided to upgrade to Premium for one month you could check my rofile if you wish #77447 no pictures. I take your post as you meant it to be taken however I think you miss understood my post. I had gotten what 18 letters and of those that I have aninterest in 2 are from Riga and 2 are from Donetsk. I did get several lettersfrom several cities. You have answered a concern though as you say Donetsk is a known hotbed. I will do as you suggest and run names through a search on goggle from now on ought to weed out I might otherwise spend some time on.
Did run the names thruogh and only found one lady which was on another site with the very same profile except thee was 1 yr difference in her age and she mentioned having a daughter age nine where on this site she only gives the birthdate of the child which makes her 12yrs old. I saw no way to determine when the posting on the other site was made.
she can be on 20 sites. choose one where you can write without paying per letter:) and figure out who she is. aks her phone number, address, talk to her. go and meet her. if you have any problem in comunicating with here contact site support.
OK Postie,
Yes I did understand a little, I believed that you only received replies from Donetsk & Riga.
One might guess that they are writing from the same agency in each city, check the transmission times of each letter, might the ladies be queuing up together to write to the postman :)
It's a shame they are not writing from personal emails, then you could check 'full headers' to see if they write from the same IP address, I've known such things many a time in my younger days!
