I have talking a russian woman for sometime now and she wants to come to the usa and meet me .At first i thought its was crazy for someone to travel that far from home just to meet somone, the more i have read the adds in where it dont seem so crazy ,but She says she is trying to save the money to come over but needs a little bit of help getting enough money for her visa and passport ,I dont mind helping her if she is for real. But i know there are scammer out there just looking for people like me that will send money ..So thats why i'm coming to all of yall asking what to do and what to be looking for out there. Me and this woman have been talk vis e-mail for about 4 months now most every day and she says she thinks she has fellen in love though ower e-mails. and now wants to come here to meet. I have asked her a few time if we can talk on the phone and her reply is allways the same ,,that there isnt a phone at her home and her boss wont let her use the company phone. Is there a phone problem over there ? are most people too poor to have a phone in there homes or in a freinds home? i just would feel more at ease if I could just speak to her just to know that is was her i was really writng too. D7600, She's a scammer without any shadow of a doubt. Go to www.womenrussia.com/blacklist.htm and 'latest updates' for countless similar stories and also run any information you have on this lady, name, name & city, address, phone number, email addy, thru a Google search. DO NOT send her any money, it will be the last you see of it and her.

James...This is a standard run of the mill scam. First before she can apply for a visa she needs to have her international passport already, that will take 4 to 6 weeks to aquire. When she applies for a B-2 visa(visitors) she will need to prove to the embassy that she will not overstay her visa but will return home as required. The cost of this visa is only $100, if she cannot afford that, how is she going to purchase a ticket. That will be the next expense she will ask you to cover. Very few of this type of visa are granted. The fact that she will not make arrangements to speak to you by phone is also suspect. It is possible that she does not have a phone either home or cell but that is very unusual and if there is a sincre desire, I am sure she has a friend that has a phone. Personally I would move on to the next one...most likley you are communicating with Boris.

whferg, And don't forget the frantic phone call, after she supposedly has her tickets & visa, she is at the airport and immigration are asking for USD1,000.00 or so cash so that she may prove that she can support herself during her trip but it's not a problem, she'll promise to return the money as soon as she doesn't arrive.
