Do you need to reserve a flight from Kiev to Simferopol in the month of July? or can you just walk up and purchase a flight? Does anyone know how long it takes to go through customs in Kiev?
Kiev is really good these days and the longest wait tends to be waiting for your baggage, then you more-or-less just flash your passport, answer 'net' to if you have any gifts or valuables, endure the harrassments of the taxi drivers whilst you begin politely with 'net' and gradually firm your tone to 'NET' and then you're outside.
Just turning up for a ticket may be risky and more expensive, you can get a reasonable priced ticket(s) on the link below and for a mere USD15 extra they will have a courier meet you at Kiev to hand you the tickets, I do it this way all the time.
Cornwall,
I had an experience with Kiyavia in their Zaporozhye office back in April/May 2005, I must have been in the office for an hour or more just to book tickets Dnepropetrovsk-Kiev-Odessa!
It was painfully SLOW, they claimed that neither of my 2 credit cards would authorise thus I had to go to the bankomat to withdraw cash (on a card that supposedly wouldn't authorise) and then only to discover, despite having a Russian speaker with me, that they had booked the tickets for the wrong day thus we had to go through the whole process again, it would have been more exciting to watch paint dry.
Back in December 2004 I used a very good travel agent in Kiev that has a website and I still have the business card of, it's all very well when you want to buy in the office but trying to buy online (I have tried) in Ukraine, well it rarely works.
Having just looked at Kiyavia's website have you tried to select the ticket delivery option, it seems they can only deliver in Ukraine which wouldn't be a lot of use if you don't reside in Ukraine or are merely on a 2 hour transit at Borispol Airport and I think you'll find that, subject to availability, prices are 'from' the figure you quoted, they don't earn commission from the airline thus you pay that, then they charge for paying by plastic and so it goes on.
The one thing with Ukrainefare is that they are reliable and they deliver, as I'm sitting in the aircraft inbound to Kiev I don't want to be panicing if they will be there or not and that is what is most important to me, just try comparing their prices to www.aerosvit.ua/eng
