I have to get a new invitation to Moldova ... even though when I plan to go in October is "visa-free" for the Wine Festival. What I initially thought is wrong ... its not visa free, but free visa, and so I still need an invitation :(
But my friend who organised it last time, is not able to go through the process again, as it takes atleast 30 days and she is also travelling.
So, I have done some searching on the Internet, and the only places I can find will charge a lot just for a single invitation, and want atleast 15 or 30 days:
Does anybody know another way for an Australian citizen (living in Denmark) to get an invitation without paying that much! I have 2 months, so if it will take 30 days I should get moving now!
According to the Levon Travel website, you will need either an invite or a tourist voucher since you are an Australian citizen. According to the same website, You can also obtain a visa at the airport if you are in a country without a Moldovan embassy/consulate. Your best bet is to hunt out ben2006, and also read the "Moldova-visa" thread. Good luck, senate. I"m planning to be there in late October myself, and I'm still trying to get everything together!
Senate, you will need an invitation as you say. Normally these take 4 weeks but if the person in moldova who is arranging the invitation asks to get it done quickly its possible to get it done in a week. Note you should have the orginal copy with you when you get to the airport or embassy. Which means you would have to get it sent to you first via DHL or another similar company(which is going to cost $50). So $180 and $100 isn't bad comsidering the cost of the visa is $60, although i have no experience with them. Good luck.
Thanks! I was able to get the visa at the airport last time, so that part should not be a problem.
Just the invitation :( I am also visiting some friends in Ukraine next month, and for them to invite me, they would have to get a family member to (as you have to be in the country) and it would be very complicated. Atleast there I can go the long way round and get a hotel reservation with confirmation (no deposit) ... get a tourist visa and then cancel the hotel.
But Moldova is even more complicated! Does anybody know what exactly the tourist voucher is? But it looks like I will be going through one of these companies and see what happens.
Although the company for $100 is Radu Sargu and I saw this earlier post about staying away from that guy ... http://forum.fiance.com/forum2.asp?Main=ShowTopic&topicid=2280&page=2
