I just came back from chisineau in Moldavia to meet a girl I was comunicate with since two months,I spend a wonderfull time with her, meet her daughter, her friends and the agency who’s taking care of her,I have her adress her phone number etc…Well I guess I am lucky to find my love in my first meet ! Now I am back to France and talk to her on the phone to invite her and her daugther to France and realized that it’s a lot easer for me to come that for her to leave Moldovia !I contact the agency where she is to make possible this trip with visa etc … and they ask me 50% of 600$ for getting the visa for her ? Is it the right price for it ? Is this the only way to get it ? I meet the agency when I was there and looked to be honest with me,Do have I more chance to get it from the agency that by the girl directly ? Thank for anybody advice…
Well check it out here www.ambafrance.md but USD600 sounds bl00dy ridiculous, probably more like USD60! I can't find prices listed on the website but I guess you can email or phone them for prices.
Martin I must say you are a one man search engine yourself. :)I would like to say thanks for this effort to help us all out. Philverm can you tell me if you can still get the Moldovan tourist visa at the airport? Glad to hear you found a great girl. And you are right, you got lucky on your first try. I'm working on number 10. :)
philverm, the company would take care of everything and the actual cost of the visa itself is probably about $60. So if you want to save $500 do it yourself. Probably a lot of people in Moldova don't know someone in say France so for them the agency is the only way. If you combine the cost of visa, international postage, and say 4 hours work for a staff memeber etc and take account of office overheads then the company wouldn't make much if they charged a lot less then $600.
Ben,
I cannot speak for France but if a lady were coming to stay with me in UK then I would need to sponsor her visa application, if an agency tried, having parted with my USD600.00, then they would probably fail simply because the application is not sponsored by a home based national.
I recall doing the sponsoring bit for a Russian lady several years ago, merely completing some paperwork and then the consulate decided to telephone interview me before issuing the visa, pretty easy going for what an, honest looking, agency want to charge USD500.00+ for!
Why doesn't the agency be honest to the effect 'dear sir, the visa cost is USD100.00 but we charge a USD500.00 administration fee', bunch of crooks the lot of them by saying the visa costs USD600.00 :)
"...Now I am back to France and talk to her on the phone to invite her and her daugther to France and realized that its a lot easer for me to come that for her to leave Moldovia ! ...."
Not to be 'nit-picking', but...
the visa is not for her to get OUT of her country, but to get INTO yours...
t is not that easy to do in our country Moldova. It is rather a complicated process which takes 10-20workd days. The positive result of visa granting depends on many factors. Starting with the accuracy of rendering the papers and finishing with the interview passing. The main factor of visitor visa granting is guarantee of coming back to ones motherland. Without prior preparation and training a few could open such visa. Our work consists in preparing all the needed papers and teaching the lady what to say, what to stress and what to not necessarily say. We can't give you a 100% guarantee as there's such a notion as officer's distrust factor who interviews the lady. But in our practice there was none of denials. So i hope that you will have positive result as well. I saw the invitation you sent to your lady. Unfortunately having such paper your lady won't be even invited for the interview. The invitation should be of a definite form and completed in the presence of witnesses. But I can send you the full information about exactly your can after we will conclude a treaty.
As Aliona wrote you the payment for our services is about 600Euros and we can start our work if you send us the advance of money (50% of the sum) or a full sum (100%) the money, as our cost includes collection, translation and legalization of all the inquiries and papers you and your lady will need for a successful interview and visa granting.
Martin
The company knows someone in france who would invite the moldovan citizen. This is common and its normally an moldovian citizen who has citizenship in France and may even get a cut of the $600. They don't want to be honest as if they say you can do it yourself they lose business and would have people asking them how do it do it themsself. Would you expect them to be honest and tell them what to do?. My point is that your paying for their professional services and not the visa. If you got a visa company in France or the UK to arrange a visa you would probably pay 10 times the price of the actual visa for the service. If they say the visa costs $600 if they do it surely the client is foolish if they assume the actual visa costs $600 and the company is going to do all the work for free.
ben
Ben,
If I want a visa then I apply to the appropriate embassy, there is a saying 'if you want something done properly then do it yourself'.
I am affiliated with a Ukrainian agency, they had a tie-up with a Spanish agency and the Spanish agency insisted that the Ukrainian agency make all the visa applications and because the Spanish were charging the guys huge amounts for these applications.
Every one of those applications failed simply because it was not a home based national sponsoring the application.
Part of the application process, for the UK anyway, is to state where the lady shall be residing, who will support her and the guy, as I did myself, can be at the airport, with mobile phone, to answer any questions or doubts that immigration may have.
If she makes a 'dodgy' application and is refused then the chances of her thereafter making successful applications are about zero.
Honesty is the best policy, talk to the French Embassy in Moldova, make friends with them, ask them what is required and do it yourself.
As the Moldovian agency say 'we cannot 100% guarantee', of course they can't because her chances of a successful application are very poor.
Of course anyone with enough cents would do it themselves. If the company failed every time to get a visa i think it would be hard for them to stay in business. I don't think you can say the chances are poor in this case, if they get philverm to fill out the correct forms or fill them out for him. Probably why they ask to $300 first as they will give him a form to invite the girl and fill out the visa form. At which point he'd realise he could do it alone. Its not hard to find a home based national to sponsor a visa. Of course if the requirements is that you have to prove the national has meet the ukrainian like the UK does then its not so easy for the company (more likely impossible). But for European countries like France, Spain etc this is not a requirment from what i have heard.
I know all about the UK process. If you read all the visa requirements which are unavailable online its not rocket science so long as as you say your honest.
Yes talk to the French Embassy but also read up about the requirments before you talk to them.
I agree Ben,
For UK the 'idiot's guide' to a visa application is available on the British Embassy Kiev website and the application forms can be downloaded from the website also, why on earth would I want to pay an agency to, most likely, fock it up, when I can do it myself?
The Ukrainian agency I referred to remain in business and are doing very well, they were never in business to make visa applications, after all they are a dating agency and not a visa application agency, it was the Spanish agency who insisted that they make visa applications so the Spanish to rip the guys off for something that was doomed not to succeed.
