I hope you will forgive me for that lol I have been corresponding with a lady from Russia . from my understanding on reading posts here I need to take some big risks and spend a lot of money if I want to get the girl here to my country ... QUESTION I want to 1stly know is it possible to meet her in a neutral country. For eg if I met her 2 times in say Italy for a period of 3 weeks each time will an embassy consider that equally to say visiting her in her homeland.. Or do you HAVE to meet her in her own country. Can someone verify this... But, where Russians can freely travel to is becoming more and more restrictive as more of these countries join the European Union. At present Turkey is good, Turkish occupied Cyprus also, but if you're thinking of an EU country such as Italy then please understand that she will need to apply, and perhaps be refused, for a tourist visa and you will need to provide her with air tickets, or send her the money for it and also money for her visa and also around USD1,000.00 to prove to the immigration authorities that she can support herself, you will also need to book hotel(s). Much more easier to get visa to Finland (even without invitation) So, you and she can meet in Helsinki or Tampere and fly to Italy or any country. Check www.blue1.com and www.ryanair.com . To be honest; 1. if I were you I would like to meet her in her homecountry first. 2. if it clicks, you might want to meet the family (bring presents, small ones) and friends. 3. when you hit it of and it seems to work, book a vacation for both of you or invite her over. 4. Livestandard in Turkey and especially Egypt (where I work and live atm) are considered even lower then in Russia and the Ukriane, so she can spend her money too. Do not go to Europe, prices are way to high. You can really get to know eachother at Russian, Ukrainian and Arab leisure places for much less. Met my "Ukrainian" GF in Turkey and we spend 2 weeks vacation before she went back. She paid her own vacation and was proud of it. They charge no one over $50 for visa, except the Americans, whom the charge $100. All of Persian Gulf countries require business invitations, except UAE. There is street prostitution in Dubai, UAE, mostly Chinese and FSU girls. olgas Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 8/30/2006 12:34:33 PM   Julo, Wether you HAVE to meet her in her own country is not as important as why you SHOULD meet her in her own country. To understand the person you are considering marrying, you need to see and understand her country and culture up close. (You will get a lot more exposure later, after the marriage, but you need as much as you can going into it.) You should also visit the city or town where she lives. You need to meet her family and friends, see how she lives, where she works or goes to school, etc. All of thgese things will help you understand her better and to make a good decision about marriage. There are only a few international airports in FSU. They are in major cities like Moscow, Kiev, etc. But a lot of the women live in cities that are far from these airports. If your RW does, the usual procedure for a first visit is for her to travel from her city and meet you at the airport in a major FSU city. Then you spend a few days together in that major city going on "first dates" and getting to know each other. You will be checking for "chemistry". That is to see if you are really attracted to each other now that you have met in person. If this goes well she will invite you to travel with her back to her home city or town and meet her family, friends, etc. That visit is usually a week or longer so you need to allow at least two weeks overall. You need to be prepared for not passing the chemistry test. If you don't "click" during the first few days in the major city you will have to cut your trip short and come home. Come home and start over. Start looking for another RW to visit on another trip. Too many guys try to "fix" a trip where chemistry test fails and meet some more RW because they feel like they have already spent money and time to get to FSU. But these guys usually just meet the wrong kind of RW and get into trouble. There are lots of "marraige agencies" and RW just waiting take advantage of guys like this who are floating around FSU without a plan. If you can't afford such visits and are already trying to cut costs, and don't like taking risks, a RW may not be for you. The smartest way to do it is to correspond with several RW at once. Get a lot of "potentials" not just one. But not try to visit all or even two of them in one trip. Visit the one you think has the best potential. But bring the contact information for the others as "back-ups." If things don't work out with the RW you came to visit, you might be able to squeeze in a visit with one of your other potentials by getting on a train or a plane. Yes she will think it is suspicious that you just happen to show up with no warning. Yes she will probably figure out you came to visit a different RW first. But if she really likes you and is really good enough person to be considered "potential" wife, she will see it as an opportunity not an insult. (Stay away from the RW who act crazy jealous. It is really your wallet they are jealous of.) I can help you with this approach if you are interested in it. I have offered to meet a Berdyansk woman in Kiev for the weekend, and pick up the tab for her travel and a separate hotel...and the response back i received did not mention the offer, it just requested a phone call with translator. so i reitierated the offer in a much more brief email back with the offer to pay for a local Kiev translator. Call the woman tonplan the trip but use your own INDEPENDENT interpreter for the call. It is very important that the interpreter is working for YOU not for her or an agency. You should not have offered to pay for anything yet. What you should have done is develop the relationship with the RW through correspondence and 3-way phone calls for a while. All of this on your own - not through an agency. If the agency will not give you direct access to the RW (her home phone umber and snail mail address) then drop her. Then if after a few months of direct correspondence it still feels right, start talking about the visit. Once you have worked out the logistics of the visist, then talk about who will pay for what. I do provide independent correspondence and phone call services. My business is called GoEastNow. Whilst she may assist in the ordering of food and drinks for the couple it is customary that she may only order for herself if she is invited to do so. I mention this because on my last trip to Ukraine I witnessed another interpreter ordering herself a lavish meal followed by bottle after bottle of wine, of course it is customary that the gentleman will offer an interpeter a meal and drinks but don't allow her to take you for a ride. I originally sent e-mails to ladies who had e-mail addresses and could speak some english. Yes I know that many more guys sent her e-amils but we hit it off. This was in Febuary of this year. I visited her in Novosibirsk in July and now just started the fiance process. I did not need an interpreter. I stayed in her home and lived with her and her two kids. You find out a lot more about a woman living two weeks in her house than two months of "dates". But if you fall for a woman that does not speak your language and does not have the means to communicate with you directly then you will need to get other people involved and many of them are in it to make money. Translation "This is a business folks and you and the ladies are the commodities" I am going back in November for a short visit because we miss each other.
