Russian brides > Main Forum > i am international student in uk. but i want to get marry a eygption girl and she is now in eygpt , any one can help me to tell me what to do and what is the process. thanks
I might help a bit, I am living in Egypt atm and some collegues married Egyptian women.
First of all think before you start the process because if she is a Muslim living in Egypt itself its a hard track to venture on, if she is not a muslim but a christian or not living (or her family) in Egypt then you just need to ask her and maybe her family.
Now, when she is a muslim and her family (she) lives in Egypt.
1. Even before you start thinking of getting engaged or married with a muslim girl you must know the culture of the muslim people. I work with them every day so I could say I know a bit about them.
If a girl, any religion, wants to marry a muslim man then there is no problem and she can get married whenever and whereever she wants. Considering the man wants to get married too.
If a man, any religion other then muslim, wants to get married to a muslim girl he has a problem. Non muslim man are not allowed to marry a muslim women and the only solution to that problem is to become a muslim yourself.
2. If you really like this girl/woman and want to get married the second step is to go to her father and ask for her hand. The father will think about it and if he is likely to approve with it he can ask you to meet with your family. If he still likes you all then he can approve and you two will get engaged. Don't think this is a big win, because you are not allowed to "do" anything. A little kiss on the cheek can be fatal.
3. Most of the time an engagement is celebrated with loads of family and friends and the Egyptians know how to party. Make sure that any food or drink you can think of (non alcoholic and no pork) is there and is not likely to run out. A host that has to say no to a guest is not a good host and probably not a good partner either. If you cannot provide for a guest, how can you provide for a family (silly thing I know but this is culture based).
4. After the engagement the road to marriage begins and you are allowed to date your girl. Lots of times though families will insist of having a chaparone with you two whereever you go.
Before filing for marriage the girls family can ask you for some "small" donations.
Monetary help (useally half to three quarters of the monthly salary), a new car for her father if you own one (cars are the same price in Egypt as in Europe, taxes), putting some money in a bankaccount with her as only benefactor of the account (between 5000 to 20000 Euros, you might run out on her) and last but not least you need, and this is a must, to provide for a living quarter. Don't even think of mentioning rental, because this will not be accepted, you need to buy a house. Houseprices depent on the location in Egypt, but think in an ammount of 20.000 to 30.000 Euros for a nice Villa (something else will not do, you are a foreigner) in Cairo, Hurghada, Sharm El Sheik, Alexandrie, etc.
5. You and the father (or main man in the household) and if there is non maybe her mother, need to go to the city counsil and file for marriage. They will ask for all sorts of papers.
Birthcertificate, Police report on good condolence, Passport, Visas (hope you do not have an Israelian one then you are in trouble), etc, etc. When the papers are approved, takes 2 to 3 months, the marriage itself can be done. Note the parties for marriage are generally much bigger then those of the engagement.
Now if you really love the girl so much and you can provide for about 100.000 to 200.000 Euros and want to become a muslim then go for it. If you have the slightest doubt, rethink and get to know the culture a bit better before asking questions like these on boards like this.
If you have more questions post them here, or contact me on Omaraph@bigmir.net.
Rauf,
Whilst the remark made my xtc11 is somewhat contravertial I was, without mentioning terrorism, going to make a remark to the effect that one should return to their home country to thereafter 'import' their lady.
That is exactly what I did, when I started this process I was a British citizen of Luxembourg, not only is it difficult as a foreigner in a foreign land to solve the immigration problems associated with FSU dating but I didn't think that I should burden a third party country with my immigration requirement.
salamo alaykom, look brother,u tell her online u like to marry her and see her reaction and if everything is ok between u ,then u travel to egypt and ask her parents to marry her, then everything will be clear for both of u believe me if u have a good intention to marry her for the sake of Allah and get away from haram Allah will help u
