Stop listening to people like martin Vanechka aussieman41 Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 10/7/2006 11:54:31 PM   Australian blokes stop dreaming about Russian/FSU brides..the requirements for a fiance visa ( prospective spouse sub-class 300 visa ) AND this is the only visa you can get for a foreign girl (NO VISITORS/ TOURIST VISAS will ever be issued to a single FSU / Russian girl ) are too tight. 85% OF FIANCE VISAS FOR AUSTRALIAN MALE applicants for a Russian/Ukrainian or other FSU country bride will get rejected. Often reason is "insufficient proof a relationship exists to substantiate that a marriage will occur after the visa is issued" or very small irregularities in her paperwork, failed police clearance, failed health check etc. All applications for fiance visas for all Russia/FSU female applicants go through are only embassy in the region in Moscow and its understaffed, very judgemental and very picky at who it lets through..its shocking! The cost of the Fiance Visa application is about $1300 AUD plus $300 AUD or more for medical checks for her plus cost of police clearance certificate from her country ( takes months to get it as they are slow an in no hurry and if you want it quick be prepared to pay a lot in bribes to officials to move things along ) plus other paperwork so it will cost something like $2000 AUD to apply for the visa and if rejected you get none of your money back! To lodge an appeal over a rejection costs another $2500 aud plus cost of an migration lawyer or attorney to represent you and her at Migration Appeals Tribunal in Australia and cases take 6 months or longer to be heard. This on top of the 7 to 12 months it takes Moscow to process a fiance visa application. Australian government and Department of Immigration are shits to deal with..its all shit! Cost of a personal visit to her by a man from Australia will cost $10,000 aud or more, so all up you can do the personal trip, pay for a fiance visa application, pay for an appeal (50% of appeals will fail ), pay for a lawyer and still not get her to Australia and be out of pocket $20,000 aud..all for nothing! AUSTRALIAN MEN FORGET ABOUT RUSSIAN BRIDES..DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND THERE TIME AS WELL. Our migration system is fooked! Your assumption about peoples motives for visiting these countries and the their criteria for being happy are flawed. It takes a lot longer for money to run out in FSU. If someone likes the lifestyle there is no reason they cant be successful in developing a sustainable lifestyle there. There are no shortages of flash cars, flash apartments and money in Ukraine or Russia. Just need to tap into it. I havent been back to Australia fo 2 years and couldnt care if didnt go back for another 10.
