I suggest that you agree to her coming to visit just to prove if indeed the next step is this most common of scams, DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY. I'd like to bet that she has been or goes to the travel agents, she itemises all the costs and then moves on to ask you for money via Western Union. It would be feasible for a lady to get a visa to UK but the British national would need to sponsor her application declaring that he will financially support her and provide her with accommodation during her visit. This just happens to eliminate any need for $$$ to show to immigration which many a scammer will ask for. The bottom line is, and I am aware that US visas are a lot more difficult, if a lady suggests a visit then agree but it will be a 'joint' visa application, a sponsored visa application. If she starts to fight and resist this then she is a scammer. Good on you for asking Mikey, many guys don't, they just send the money. Dragster, I don't need to start the race, I've already finished the race and won first prize. Yes, there are plenty of fish in the sea but from a distance it can be difficult to sort the fish from the sharks. You are right in that marriage is not a race, it is something very serious, but hooking one's fish can be a race, if you don't net her them another guy will and it is more often than not a case of 'first come, first served'.
