I am trying to transfer funds from USA to Yoshkar-Ola. The local agency does not use PayPal which would be very inexpensive if they did. I have the account #'s for the local bank in YO and AMEX in NYC which apparently handles their account on an international basis. (the local bank is B.I.N. Bank). Is there a cheaper way to do this other than western union or others that charge steep fees? The agency speaks of "Swift" account number and has provided this as well but AMEX in NYC knows nothing about this "Swift".
Whether the money goes to YO or not it is still a good question, and I would like to know the answer. I am also in a relationship with a woman in YO, and am sending her money, I have met her and will do so again in February. So, if someone knows the answer, please share it with us.
Im also wondering why 10 to 50 dollars in Western Union fees are a problem to begin with. If you need to save few dollars like that then you are searching in an area way over your head. As Martin Uk has mentioned before in other threads. This endevor will cost you not 100's of dollars. It will cost you 1000's and the cost will will continue a lifetime of the marriage. Minimum one round trip to Russia or Ukraine a year. Do the math guys before you jump in!
If I have a swift number and account number I can do the transfer online via internet bank account that I have in Australia. It costs $20 plus exchange rate margin. If you need some help Just send it to my account and I will be sure to forward it for you :-).
It's cool feller's. No it is not for visa or airfare or even large amount of moola. I just want to buy my sweetie something and don't want to be scalped by the "agencies". It is better to get her the money and let her do it. Olga, if I give the "agencies" my credit card number it is the same as giving them carte blanche with my funds. I have found a system called "iKobo" but they cannot originate from Florida. I will most likely use Western Union and pay the blood sucking vultures their high commission.
Deano... a penny saved is a penny earned. I don't know where you come from but I don't just throw money away. I have arranged my own trips and saved a couple thousand $$. I have done my own paperwork for visas and saved several hundred more. At this rate I'll be driving a corvette by the end of next year. Besides, its the principal of a company thinking they can rape you because they think there is no competition. If Western Union is the best, cheapest or easiest way to do it then I guess that's it. But I asked ya'll the question, sought out your advice and you tell me I'm in over my head because I want to save a few bucks?
Gemini Dreams... thanks for the offer. It will cost less through Western Union from the US. I have contacted SWIFT directly and finally found someone who could explain to me how the system works. Complicated but apparently that way out of necessity. Thanks again for the offer.
I agree Nava. Nothing wrong trying to save a few bucks. And I agree with you in that I also hate how companies tend to rape our wallets so you have the right idea. But I was just trying to hammer home not only to you but to anyone out there that this dating and finding your future wife method is not cheap in any way. It will cost us all big bucks. But the rewards can be great! Good luck.
If I was dating a gal here at home I figure 200-300 a month at least in wining and dining. I'm not sure that either way is considered cheap. But the Russian way does let you shop in a very non-USA style. I think that the women are far more willing and possibly less fussy about who, as long as you are decent and can provide and care for them. I have found that the language barrier is a difficult hurdle. So many word and phrases just don't translate well. I have had to find a new vocabulary to express ideas and concepts.
True. It is a costly venture but as you said, the rewards are great.
Figured out how to transfer the funds from my bank to AMEX (NY) to SWIFT to BIN Bank. Up to $2k for $13.50. Takes 2 days but it works. Once you get it set up it is easy.
I don't agree! have you met her??? if not why don't you burn the money at least you would get heat from it! Hundreds burn better than ones! so I hear. I know a site you can send presents from that does address verifications. They saved my but! Flamingo service. when I found out she wasn't real they REFUNDED MY MONEY! Wow! imagine that. This is my opinion.
