I am aware that both of these areas are much nicer during the summer - but I cannot get away at that time. If anyone has been to both places, particularly during the winter and during a Romance Social, your input would be appreciated. The women wore very nice makeup and dressed quite well. And frankly, I couldn't care less what you or your British-god think of the women there. The question was addressed to any members who have attended Socials in one or both places and it should be obvious that that would exclude you. If you and your British-god actually spent an entire evening looking at pictures of other people at their Romance Social I might suggest that it takes very little to entertain you. I am aware of the websites devoted to Socials and it is unlikely that you would see me at the Scoail that I attended since the company that did it no longer offers that service and I never signed a realease, as all of these compnies require before putting pictures of the gentlemen up. If any GUYS who are here have attnded a Romance Social or even just visted Odessa and Sevastopol, I renew my request for comment. There are some interesting things to see (historical sites) and of course you are right on the Black Sea which was really great. I also thought the women there we're the prettiest I've ever seen in my entire life before. I mean I've been to Kiev before too and know how great the ladies look there but the women in Sevastopol impressed me even more than them! I would go there again if I could. jetmba. The Romance Social I attended was in Odessa and I was also VERY impressed with the ladies - but that was in October of 2003. Since that time both Anastasia and AFA have had frequent Romance Socials. I believe that each organization has between three and four per year in Odessa. And that is not to mention those that European Connections did before it stopped two years ago. There may have been as many as 27 Romance Socials in Odessa since I last visited. I'm thinking that they have perhaps become to commonplace there. Sevastopol doesn't seem to have nearly as many. The social was pleasant, much like any bar scene in the States, but with perhaps 250-300 women and 40 men. The interpreters sat on the sidelines, and provided services as requested. No one is looking out for you to have a good time, as some of the ads imply. You're on your own, except that you may have a wingman or two helping you from the group of guys. The women were attractive in general, and dressed nicely. There were two or three knockouts, who of course garnered lots of attention. I got the impression they were regulars at the socials, and not easily impressed. There was a busload of women from Nikolaev, and they seemed less jaded, and very happt to meet the guys. It was okay, but for $400? If you could find a like-minded friend or two to go with you to the bars, and pay an interpreter to tag along, you might do better for lots less money. The main benefit to the social trip is the tour group trip thing, with all your details and sightseeing handled for you, if you like that sort of travel. My boyfriend thaught men were pathetic losers and women tarts with their strong make-up and long nails. But he is critical person, I was suprised because I thaught girls look sophisticated and intelligent, but they looked trashy to be honest. Was he jotting down the ID number or the website of these "horrible tarts"? Hmmm. You say that you thought that the girls looked intelligent and sophisticated - but after oggling them all night (and likely taking notes whether you saw or not) your boyfriend was highly critical and said that they looked trashy. Did you expect him to say they were gorgeous Annika? Did you epect him to admit that the women he had drooled over all evening were better than you are? Come on Annika - give the your god some credit for brains. To Philly. I'm guessing that you went on a tour with Anastasia. But I would be interested in fining if it was perhaps with AFA. I have to admit that I am a little turned off by what seems to be a singles bar atmosphere with Anastasia. When I went with European Connections it was entirely different. The Romance Social was much more formal. Each participant had a provided interpreter who was assigned for the evening. You generally found a comfortable table and then, having told the interpreter what you were looking ofr (in my case it was a woman 26 or younger, with good English speaking ability, and not having been married or having had children previously) sent her to bring back the qualified women from a group of four or five that you had pointed out. This was all done in a well lit room with some refreshments being served and a DJ playing music for those interested in dancing (exclusively women dancing with each other as the guys were all doing interviews). I would simply look around me, at 200 to 250 of the most beautiful women I had ever seen, and pick out three or four for my interpreter to "qualify" for me. She would then get up and go talk to the women and briefly ask them if they met my criteria. If they did she would bring them back to the table to sit and talk with me. I would tell them about myself, showing pictures or whatever (I gave them some postcards I brought along from my home city) and the interview would end with a Polaroid shot (we were each dvised to bring a Polaroid camera) of the two of us together. (2 shots actually, one for her and one for me.) The Socials actually began at (I think) 1:00 pm and ended at 8:00 pm. It was assumed that by that time you would have a date for the evening (of course) and arrangements to see some of the other girls, locals, in the future. We were advised that hotels rooms were available for $20 if the girls had traveled some distance to get to Odessa - as the one I eventually settled on had - and I actually gave the $20 to the girl in front of my date for that evening with the full acknowlegement of BOTH! (That was bizzare. She didn't even use the $20 - which I was to find out was for a crappy hotel (I only did as I was advised) she actually stayed in the hotel we were in with her the girl she had traveled with. Another guy had payed for that room while he dated someone else.). Seeing that Anastasia's Socials are a lot more like a singles' bar, I wonder if AFA is any different? jetmba. That has to be too many. I have to believe that there a lot of women who make their livings just frequenting those in Odessa. Men who frequent these socials are one or more of the following: old, fat, ugly, and desperate. Women who frequent these socials are either decent looking young working girls:) or trashy looking leftovers. You know nothing of anything that you have written about in this forum, politics, economics, or even the topic of this forum (in case you have forgotten) which is Russian women. Why do you immediately jump to references of nude photography and hookers when a Polaroid is mentioned? Is that maybe because you photographed yourself getting a bj with a hooker and posted the link on this very forum sometime ago? I have never ever been with a hooker. But I suppose that if I was endowed as poorly as you showed the world that you are, I might have to succum to it. There are new surgeries available by the way that you might consider. If not for yourself then for the sake of your wife. The Polaroid was for use in a fiance visa application. If you could forget about prostitution just long enough - you might recall that a photo of yourself meeting your lady is a neccessary part of the fiance visa application. Not that it is any of your business - but I have been with the same lady (except for a brief break in 2004) since 2003. We have visited each others countries for that length of time and have finally decided to go our seperate ways. So I am trying again. Why is this so difficult for both Martin and trav to comprehend? Following this path is no more or less desperate than writing to "Lonely Hearts" in the Personals Section of any newspaper or an online service. Don't they go, after all, something like this: "Hi! I saw your desperate ad. I am desperate too and living in a foreign country. I can find no women within country's borders so I thought I might try yours. I don't know if you are sending me real pictures of yourself that are current, or whicgh were taken when you were much younger. I don't know if you are actually an agency scam or a man posing as a woman, but I will continue to write to you until I either catch on or you ask for money. I might even try and visit you and then discover nothing about you was real." Isn't THAT how you two found YOUR women? At least I am meeting them face to face from the get go.
