Author Post Jerome Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 6/23/2003 3:11:38 PM   how any women, or Russian women behave in their homeland, Europe, wherever… but in the context of this dating agency…I think there exists a slightly different “generalization.” My relationships with Russian women are limited to women I met through dating-ru, university, travels, and teaching online Spanish courses. The relationships are not much different than relationships I have had in America, or other foreign countries. Through dating-ru I corresponded with a 29 yr. old Ukrainian doctor for eight months, then a 25 yr. old Russian college professor 6 months, whom I am now engaged to. I also corresponded with 40-50 RW briefly. I have visited Russia, and met several women there in a variety of different circumstances. All of the Russian women I corresponded with through “dating-ru, now fiancé” were very serious about finding their soul mate, and marriage. Most would not take serious an invitation to meet after one or two letters…in fact if you wanted to meet so quickly, or profess any feelings suddenly they would feel you are not serious, and just looking for entertainment and would stop correspondence. (When I began this a year ago I specifically asked after a month if a couple of the girls I was corresponding with would like to meet in Spain, I was traveling there for vacation, and I am naturally very generous, and would have loved for one of them to accompany me… both had a similar responses…it was much to early to make such plans…etc) Likewise, any Russian women who are eager to profess their feelings etc… are most likely looking for a way out, and not serious about their feelings towards you, or a long term relationship with you. (I am not referring to any scammers who just want money…I think dating-ru does a fairly good job of weeding those out. I was surprised that even when I corresponded with the 19 year old model types how serious they were about finding their true love etc…) While I connected through writing, and phone with several girls, and very seriously with two… none would commit to anything further than friendship before meeting in person. Even though they might feel that I represented in my words everything in what they were looking for in a man, etc. From my little exp. I think the main reason women post to dating-ru is to find a husband…it is not just to leave Russia, have fun… although while I was in Moscow, just like any other city I encountered women who were just looking to have a good time, and would go anywhere, anytime you wanted… Russian women may tell you that her country sucks, and that all the men in Russia are stupid, but if you say the same she most likely will be offended. I think the majority of mature Russian women who have already begun their careers would gladly stay in their country if they found a good Russian man that could help take care of her and their family. When I got to the point where it was very serious and we discussed moving to new country they each voiced many concerns, and fears. In fact the first relationship ended after she thought seriously about leaving family, and job, etc...I understand that the pay is terrible in Russia, and many young women are looking for a better future while trying to find husband, however I am taking my comments specifically from the women I corresponded with. I correspond with a young girl in Moscow who is taking Spanish lessons/learning spansih, and she is extremely negative about her country, but if I even agree with her she gets very defensive…I would question anyone who could immediately give up their family, home, culture, and everything that is familiar to them and move to another country. I have worked in foreign countries at a min. of two-year intervals on several occasions. (it was not as drastic as Russia-America…it was America –Mexico/Argentina/Venezuela/Brazil) however, it was great to come home… Again this is taken from my limited correspondence, but it should in someway represent the women at dating-ru. Though I have received just one letter from each it seems that they are already determined to establish if I have any intention of visiting or if I already have a girlfriend and why I'm looking for a lady overseas. I have gained respect for them already, they are not playing games and you can't ask for more than that. I was very sceptical that I would get letters asking me for money, pretending to have a sick mother needing urgent medical care on me, giving me Western Union account details and getting templates with my name in but the ladies appear to be really genuine. Good job and a good write up. wtrav02 Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 6/23/2003 10:53:21 PM   I don't see any correlation between the type of woman and the particular site (dating-ru) since dating-ru sources women's profiles from several (I believe 200 or 500 something like this) local dating sites from various cities and regions of the former Soviet Union. I doubt they have any control at all on the quality of women on their site. But, they do try to make sure both men and women are protected from abuse. It is great service to know that you can ask questions about a specific woman and get good advice at any time. I have found only one other site that I provides similar service. I personally met the girl of my dreams through this site and although I was not serious about getting married when I started all this and until recently resisted the idea of committing to one woman, Yulechka is so perfect in my eyes and her love is so profound that I am inevitably falling in love with her also and the rest is simply meant to happen. It’s the fact that the site weeds out the scammers. When they see a scenario of a scammer-taking place or they receive facts of an incident, they delete the profile and take action. They maintain integrity in the site. They have control over the use of the site and spotting activities that are suspicious in nature. This gives the impression that the site is free of scammers because they are effective in their handling and management of their site. Its not to say that one won’t slip by every now and then. But the scammers will normally reveal themselves eventually and the administrators will take action. So when you complain about the prices of you try to pull a fast one to get buy their services. Just remember they are protecting you and they have to pay their bills and put food on their tables also. You get what you pay for. If you look for a budget site you will get budget service. Nadya123 Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 9/8/2004 7:54:27 AM   It was extremely interesting for me to read your comments about Russian brides, as I'm Russian and not married yet. though I've never tried such sites I have a question: I've heard that foreign men are all willing to marry Russian women not only because they are so beautiful and intellegent and good wifes but just because it's so easy for them (I mean for men) to control their brides and do whatever these men want to do. Western women are very independant and everythins is so complicated with them and here you have absolutely dependant on you creatures who don't know anything about your country, way of life, have no friends and don't know language well enough. I don't want to be too longwinded just want to know your ideas and opinoin about it as you seem to be a very experienced @dating-ru users. But I still want to know why foreign men use such sites and is it a problem to find a bride in the USA. And what about cultural differences and so-called mentality? They are sooooo caught up with equality in this country that most of them want to believe they can survive without a man. I am one man that does not play their games and I wont settle for less. I know what I want and thats why I am engaged to a woman that is from Russia. In my estimation there is no comparison. My woman is my equal and my partner in life. She wants to take care of me and make all my days happy, as I want to do the SAME for her. Yes Nadya we may be different culturally from you but all in all we are all human beings and have many similarities as well. Here comes my own evaluation of american women in general. But just in most generalities, keep in mind that there are execptions. Enjoy...:) The feminist movement this day still campaigns for women to be and feel entitled to have her cake and eat it too. By that I mean that today's american women want their man to assume the traditional financial responsibilities for her, but they feel they do not have to reciprocrate by assuming any of the traditional female roles to help maintain, manage and supervise the family home. This distortion has grown and mutated so grossly, that today young women no longer grow up with dreams of having a family as a first priority in life. They want a career, instead. And they delay to start a family until their body clocks' knocking on their reproductive minds and organs become an unbearable nuissance. By that time, only "having a baby" has any importance whatsoever. finding a good husband and building a strong family unit is not fundamental, anymore...."if it doesn't work out, I know a good lawyer that will take him to the cleaner's" or "I'll marry a man with good genes to make a baby, then I'll get rid of him". The legal system has also developed into an all time anti-marriage institution because of the blatant favoritism women receive once they decide to get rid of their present husband. Married women today no longer feel the need to stay fit and physically attractive for their husbands. Why should they?...the legal system will protect her if he starts a divorce....So she doesn't think twice about letting herself get fat as a cow, chop her hair like a bull dyke lesbian, waste the money he earns and neglect the children's education and family needs. Most US men still willing to remarry in hopes of building the type of family they want, will not do it without a pre-nup document to protect their assets and source of income in case their new wives (wherever they are from) one day decide to take advantage of them by using the legal system against him. Nadya, these above descriptions are not exaggerations. I hope it helps you understand and evaluate the current situation with women in the US. There are several past threads about american women that you probably would benefit from reading at length. The popular trait you mentioned about russian women being attentive to their men is one of the most appealing characteristics we enjoy from the woman we want to take care of.
