The website is blinddate.ru A woman wants me to contact them to set up a meeting between us. I just hope its not becuase she is working for them and will get a kick back from them setting up our meeting. I have read some posts in this forum in which woman will have these meetings set up and soon after meeting, you dont hear from them after you have already paid. I want to see how reputable this site is. If anyone knows please inform me. If she is in St. Petersburg, you should be able to just go there and meet her. It's easy to arrange a trip to SPB by yourself. They want to take care of everything for you but at a price. I just told them I wanted to meet lady without all the frills. If you need an interpreter it will cost plenty. If I go back to St Pete's and need help I will use them because I don't have to worry about scams or kickbacks to girls. Their cost is pricey at$18 an hour. What do you pay for honesty? The manager is named Afisa. They have their way of doing things to try to insure a good meeting, I do understand what they are trying to do but it was not for me. Try to tell them you would just like to meet girl, you will take care of everthing else yourself. After 1st meeting they will encourage girl to meet with you alone. She speaks virtually no English and claims to be shy. She wants to use them for interpreter purposes also. She claims to trust them and says her mother will not allow us to meet without thier help. I dont know, sounds a bit odd to me. I can understand her to a point. And then you have to visit one of the Embassies of the Russian Federation in your country to get your Visa. Book air tickets... And you are in Russia! So you can meet this girl without any help of an Agency. So I suppose if you trust fiance.com, you should be OK with that agency. May be she would like to meet you without using any services, but it is not good for Agency because they will not get your money. Think of it. From my experience with this agency, they are not into 'straining the truth', In my case my girl was asked to see me alone on next day, she is the one that declined it because she was not comfortable with the language barrier and she was a '5'. I do have the girls private info. She has given me her phone number and address and what not. I am pretty sure she is sincere. The agency is actually very helpfull now that I have spoken to them. They are helping me with a trip that fits my budget and is not pushing for more. So far they seem very professional. It seems legit so away I go. Thanks again fellas for commenting!! Beemer, yes she is early 20's. Not that young for me though, I'm 27. After getting all the information I understand exactly why she wants to use the agency to meet. She does not need them after the first day she told me, unless we feel we still need an interpreter as my Russian is very simplistic at this point. Anfisa is A very nice lady who indeed has A personal relationship with each and every one of her clients, So if a lady from that agency is writing you, then you can be assured that she is serious. My advice to you is write some letters and send some photos and don't be in any hurry. Of course if you go meet this lady, Then it is up to you meet the ladies aproval. Also there is a lot of reading material that will give you the run down on the cultural differences. It is important how you present yourself. I found that St. Petersburg is rather formal, at least compared to that which I am accustomed to. Shorts and a T shirt won't work. My experiences were very satisfying with Anfisa. If you are not fimialar with international travel, it is well worth the money to not need to worry about anything. She is on top of everything and you will see that she really does care about the sevice they perform. Have you actually trveled to St. Pete to meet a woman from the blind date agency? Also, to set my budget, what kind of ballpark figure should I be looking at in regards to cost using their services? I fear it will be quite high. They would like to also provide taxi's, flowers, tranfers, you name it they do it but there is a pricey cost thou very honest upfront. They are very honest and will take care of anything and everything you will ever need. Of course it costs money but it is their business they arent doing this because they have nothing better to do. You can trust her and her staff 100%. Petersburg on two occasions. Both of which were set up by anfisa and her staff. The first trip I was there for eight days and I did everything I could possibly do. anfisa recomended I rent an apartment to stay in which i agreed to. I hired an interperter/guide and the driver for the entire time of my stay. (Raman is his name. Nice fellow) The frist trip cost me about 5 K, but like I said I dined in very nice resteraunts and did all I had time to do. the second trip cost me about 3 k, because I rented an apartment for myself and my lady and did not need the car and driver, nor the guide. you could go for a week for 2500 if you were carefull with your money. But don't be too carefull or your lady may think you are selfish and that my friend is the kiss of death to your relationship. Your first trip I recomend strongly you trust Anfisa to handle everything for you. One last thing. If you can try not to fly to Moscow to connect to st. Petersburg. It's not a good thing because the domestic flights and international flights are in seperate airports and you can count on spending 50 bucks to get from one to the other. It is much better to connect in Frankfurt. Feel free to ask any questions you like spineshank. I think that I've built up enough confidence to go ahead and just GO. I will plan to spend more like 3500 then on the trip, potentially more. I assume renting an apartment for the week makes the most sense? Also, should I offer to pay for the lady's trip from her home town? I would like to but dont want to give the impression I will pay for eveything and that I'm made of money. You are flying to St Pete's to meet? That is strange unless YOU wanted to fly her up to St Pete's. and YOU wanted to go there. It does seem odd she would not use an agency closer to her. I may pose that question to her.
