Hi Im going to Italy for a holiday and want to know if its possible now with the EU for a ukrainian girl to meet me in Italy. Can she get to italy for a holiday ? on a holiday visa? What are the rules anyone know?

For the record, Ukraine is not in the EU. I don't know the rules exactly. I know for sure that she needs a visa. I think she needs either an invitation letter from an Italian citizen or institution, or to join a tour organized by some agency in Ukraine. Please, do not take this as completely reliable information. She should ask the Italian Embassy in Kiev, anyway. I think that the officers in the Embassy can be rather reluctant at releasing tourist visas to young women. So I think she should do everything very carefully.

She can apply for an Italian holiday visa, not saying that her application will be approved, providing she has return travel tickets, confirmed accommodation reservations and sufficient funds to support herself during her stay. P.S. Non-compliance with entry regulations will result in fines between EUR3,500.00 and EUR5,500.00 per person and deportation of the passenger to country of origin.

VANECHKA taking em to other countries ive not found so hard Dubai WAS TAD DIFFICULT but not impossible ive taken my girl to egypt dubai thailand bali turkey = dump = dont bother !!! cambodia few other places i didnt have much worries in such countries except Dubai = why ive no idea ? i took her in 2004 the orient express through about 5 countries stupid thing they wanted her to have visa / transit each country the train went through ( idiots what did they think she was going to do ''leg it '' from the train at 120k's an hour) ! idiots huh ! It was a lot of frigging around getting 5 transit visa's its rediculous really you / me can go anywhere aussie passport visa to us stroll in park. But for some strange reason ive never worked out?? they go stupid on a russian / ukraine bird wanting to have a holiday = rediculous and i gave em few broadsides at embassy for there troubles too . Russian powers that be = ( folk stuck in 1945 mental block ) see thier own die daily and not bat an eyelid - why should they give a toss if they want to go have either holiday or to another joint to better emselves hell its 2007 not 1957. I told all this to enbassy dood in such words too he looked at me and i said to him tell me if iam wrong?? --he went ''errr ahhh ;; errr ''ummm hmmm'' - he was lost for words i was dead right = he knew it too. -I sincearly hope in my Time i see all visa crap for fsu folk tossed in the bin -pointless trying to keep all the chooks in the pen - sorry it all caved in in 1991 its all over rover, ( they stuck in dark ages ay ) give em passport same as we get ---and ''say hear worlds your oyster enjoy'' -- Be different if they were all unreplacable folk with IQ of 200 earning $1200 a week and thier own country could not run without em!!!!!!! but i mean hell as you know thats certainly not the case . they should let em go where they want - i mean whats the loss to russia ? 145 million of em --whats 20,000 less ??? makes sence ay !and time that 20,000 is gone be 5000 more born anyway let em enjoy fer fugg sake .

Mike sounds like you have had a few beers. My point is I havent met the girl yet. id rather her meet me in Italy. Shes not poor and tells me she has fairly "well off" parents. Frankly i dont want to go to ukraine and if I can have my initial meet with her in italy would be great .... Im wondering as I am an Australian and Italian citizen if there are ways I can do this so she can meet me in italy. Im sick of Australian laws. We bring in asians and arabs by the truckload here but any eastern european person is treated like a criminal... CAN I MEET A CHICK IN ITALY OR NOT???? HAS ANYONE TRIED

vanechka iam not a drinker mate as rule -yes you can meet in italy ive seen a kiwi meet a russian in italy last august - i dont think he had to much grief after all he's a kiwi you know - limited up top to what he could do in respects to ------chores after getting out of bed ! = if a kiwi can do it = anybody can . Got his ''jandels on'' left his leg of lamb in fridge ( covered in love bites ') then managed to meet a russian in rome !! Must have taken a years brain power ammassed into 1 for a kiwi to do that - but there you go she had to get visa for russia . I THINK SHE WAS THE BRAINS BEHIND THE VENTURE ! LOL ! Nothing came of thier meet as he was to busyt moaning about $10 cab fares she soon realised he was ''poverty pete '' exit stage left ! she vanished on im in the end ! Can't say as i blame her ! Arab emirates is fun to get your girl into --visa requirements they want to know the inns and outs of a spiders arss ! why ? ive no idea . Half of these impoverished countries lose the plot = eg; without tourists etc visitors they got a big percentage of nothing ay . Idiots close the door / make it so hard you can't open it -------then wonder why thier tourist industry is going down the tube?? Yes i agree with you towel heads , turks , arabs , slopes all the useless races we in aussie hold the door open for em = why ? its crazy ! Vanechka i got my girl to aussie in 2005 - easy ? no it was not ------but it can be done there is a lot of crap that goes down ' bonds to be put up assurences from rich family + ( what in russia = rich family = where ???) rich mafia doods maybe oh i could just see them sending the off spring to this politically correct cess pit hear ( give it back to the coons ay ) no i needed to do none of that i got guidence from a migration guy he lives in perth he walks you through the lot of it took me about hmm 9 weeks i spose to organise it all . Her stay was only 60 days total; costs to me $6900 aud fares all the charges and stuff embassy fees all the tape you go through , What did she think of australia -well she was not impressed its to fast , its got to many melon headed unrefined pub jerks --longer she stayed more she wanted to go home , man i was losing her you know . they either love a western country or they hate it -to her russia was definately the better of two evils . oh if yoiu guys hey i dont how many aussies on hear --need help get your bird hear for holoday lissen the guy is south african the migration i seen ive his number and his email -what a great guy he takes the system by the nose and twists it until it fits His criteria he wont give up on you either he's damn good ok i slipped him $800 for all his trouble and hes worth every penny of it . mike 00

Not sure how hard it is to GET a visa. http://www.esteri.it/visti/home_eng.asp visa application form (click here) recent passport-style photo passport or travel document valid for at least three months after visa expiry date return-trip booking or ticket or proof of available means of personal transport proof of available lodging in Italy: tourist vouchers, hotel booking, offer of hospitality (click here) proof of economic means of support, as per Ministry of Interior Directive 1.3.2000(click here) documentation of socio-professional standing health insurance with a minimum coverage of �30,000 for emergency hospital and repatriation expenses

Vanechka, I don't know if you are still considering a meeting in Italy. I can tell you: forget it! I know from 'non-official' sources that it is VERY hard for a Ukrainian young woman to obtain a visa. I am Italian, and in order to successfully invite a Ukrainian girl to visit me in my country, I have to prove my 'long-lasting' relationship with her. That is, I have to exhibit photos, boarding passes, etc. The girl will be called for an interview in the Embassy in Kiev, where she'll be asked questions about me, my family, details about my life, to confirm the existence of the 'long-lasting' relationship. The interview will take place approx. one month after the visa application is made. Beemer's advice is VERY sensible!
