I have received a number of replies to the ad I have created.
Today, when I was going to check the inbox, I was greeted with
"Sorry, you have basic membership and cannot read the answers..."
(I had no idea I was only a basic memeber now...)
Great, what is the point of advertising if I cannot read the letters I receive ???
And the ladies will no doubt wonder why I don´t answer of course.
I don´t answer letters that I cannot read !
They are probably not informed that I cannot read their letters...
Checking further, I found that I could not even read previous letters, that I read the last time I was here. Those were replies to letters I have paid for.
Before, (at dating-ru), one could forward the letters to my e-mail, but not any longer. Why?
Sure, I can explain this. According to the system we have now, we have three membership types.
1. Basic. You pay nothing. You can publish your ad and see if anyone will respond you. If women started to send you messages and you see that it really works, you can pay for a monthly membership and get access to all responses. You can choose premium or VIP membership.
2.Premium. Costs 14.95. You can e-mail back and forth for free to all girls from photo gallery that have own e-mails , read all their responses, send letters for 8$ for girls with agency's e-mail.
3.VIP. 29.95$. Unlimited free messages for all girls from photo gallery ad and access to all their responses.
The new membership system started its work from 16 June. On this day all fiance.com( dating-ru.com) customers that had at least one paid order before june 16 got a Free Trial Premium Membership for a month. We e-mailed all our customers about it.
On 16 July trial Premium membership expired. If you want to renew it, you are welcome to pay for it, using Upgrade membership option.
All prices and membership benefits are descrided in Services option( or My account Type option.)
So, you are telling me that I cannot read letters that I have paid 8 dollars each to send ??????
What is the point of sending letters then ??
In the letter I received about new membership rules it clearly says:
"Basic – free membership. You can publish your add, organize your photos, prepare email templates. RECEIVE letters from the ladies."
To just get a notice about a letter, is not what I call "receive", and I think everyone agrees with that.
Why else should I pay 8 dollars per letter I send, if I cannot read the answers ????
You did not anser my question about whether the girls know that I cannot read the letters they send when they see my ad ???
It is not very polite if they don´t....
It says NOTHING about that previous letters will be erased when the new "rules" start.
Money used to send letters are wasted as I cannot see the letters, p or their addresses any longer.....just great ???
New rules cannot change agreements made before, unless so stated in the new rules, and giving me time to save the old letters.
"New web site will have all the features of old site plus a lot of new functions....."
Yes, nothing about deleting features !
I hope your aim is to help people finding each other, and not just making a profit.....?
If your site had been financed by advertising, like our Swedish "Spraydate", things would be a lot easier.
I forgot to comment on this:
"If women started to send you messages and you see that it really works, you can pay for a monthly membership and get access to all responses"
Yes, but maybe the message just says "Sorry, not interested"
I think the previuos system was great, and as I said before, I cannot understand why my old correspondence had to be deleted....
I have now lost all postal addresses I had...just great !!!
Thats why you have a hard drive to save your letters and correspondence, Oh and I think floopy disks and CD roms can do that too. Hve you never heard of saving your files.?
As fiance.com advertise themselves as an honest business, I thought I could trust them.
Besides, as I work from different computers (the library in town for example) it is not so easy to save the files.
Before, (at dating-ru), one could forward the letters to my e-mail, but not any more for some reason.
Any sincere company would inform in advance if they were going to delete the letters, especially as one has paid for the correspondence....
If I had been informed, I would have printed out all my letters of course at the library.
The letter I received from fiance.som about new membership features
clearly says that Basic membership includes RECEIVING letters,
and that "New web site will have all the features of old site".
I have not received an answer from fiance.com yet, and I hope
they are not going to tell me that "receive" means something else in their Russian dictionary...
you should be able to see replies for the letters you paid 8$. but you must have Premium membership. do you?
with Basic membership you wouldn't have been able to write letters.
please contact our customer service directly to figure out what problem is.

response to Sweden
1. Now at fiance.com you can forward files to your personal email. we have not changed this as far as I remember. I am checking on it. you can do it from the My account section.
with Fiance.com system you can have for free Images stored, and transferred. before you did not have this capability and you had to pay for each image transfer. Everything is stored on the site now . and anybody computer literal knows how to copy and paste files to send to your own email, even if system doesn't let you do it.
what are you paranoid about? read the rules and follow them. what is not honest in our system?
you can publish your data for free in our secure catalogue. Before it cost $20.
Now you cam send unlimited . not edited letters to any girls with Premium membership. Before all address information was removed. now, you can even store templates for first letters. so, you can send freely letters to hundreds, thousand of girls. real time chat will be up in a month, or two. it is in the development.
it is not fair for you?
who is paying for our bandwidth, and support? we call every lady who register to verify her, every agency goes through the check up. do you want everything for free? I am sure there are places like that.
2. We do not delete LETTERS. email to customer service and tell us when did we delete a letter. we will see what happened. We will try to find any deleted info from the back ups for you. You said you could have your files forwarded to you before. so you should have them on your computer then.
3. yes, it has all the features of the old site. but they are placed in different membership levels.
I wrote that letter, it explained everything and had link to the full text about the system.
receive means have it in your mail box. but opening the file needs to be in the premium membership. stop paying $8 per letter. upgrade to V.I.P membership, all letters to any ladies are free. plus you see full stat for free.
today is 07.20.2003 and our management is not working. but I am answering to you and again, if you have questions seen it to the customer service, they work 24X7.
No, I do not have Premium membership, and will certainly not pay
until I can read my old letters.
Otherwise you may invent new rules again as soon as I have paid...
I paid 8 dollars for each letter I sent. Those were sent with the old "rules", and of course I must be able to read the answers without paying once again to read them, even if I did not get a response until now !!!!
I have 28 letters in my inbox that I cannot open.
I have read the mail about the rules again this morning, and it says NOTHING about locking my inbox.
If you had told me, I would have printed the letters of course.
I am going on vacation tomorrow, so I need to print the letters so that I can write down their addresses to send postcards from my journey.
Regarding receiving letters, it clearly says:
"Basic – free membership. You can publish your add, organize your photos, prepare email templates. RECEIVE letters from the ladies".
I am not american, but I know what the word RECEIVE means.
You have used that word before in the old rules, so don´t try to twist the words and say that it just means something else.
I also wish to repeat my qustion about the ads:
Does the ladies know that I cannot read their letters?
There isn´t much point in writing otherwise.
I don´t know about the law in Russia, but here in the EU it is very clear about consumers´rights, and informing about changes in conditions.
Forwarding:
Below the letter, there was a box before saying "forward this letter to my mail".
I have not seen that since June 16, otherwise I had forwarded the letters of course.
Honest system?
No, I don´t think so as you don´t inform members of what is going to happen, and for example trying to say that "receive" does not mean receive anymore since June 16....
It must be only in Russia that "receive" suddenly means something else.
We can do this in 2 ways:
You either open my inbox so that I can happily go on vacation
and you have a satisfied customer, or we can do it the other way which means a lot of work for all parties.
If you disagree about the information you sent, you can give
me the address of a "customer rights´" department that can settle this matter.
P.S
You guys who have mailed me, thanks for the support !!
Dear sweden
as far as I remember we already had a topic with you on this forum, it was about girls addresses, where you also accused us in being dishonest with customers, not warning about rules, customers rights and ets. Strange to see that after a few months you are still here, using the services of this "dishonest agency".Why ???
As for the ladies. Yes, the ladies know that all mailforwarding here is at men's expense. Its up to him to pay and read/respond or not. Since ladyes can't pay for e-mail forwarding themselves, they are okey with that.
As for customers rights.
You said that:
"I paid 8 dollars for each letter I sent. Those were sent with the old "rules", and of course I must be able to read the answers without paying once again to read them, even if I did not get a response until now !!!! "
You are quite right- you have a right to read the responsed you've paid for. we'll resend you THREE messages you are talking about. No problem.
Dear Olga,
Yes, we had a discussion about the rules before, about letters being censored. and yes, I did not see any "rules" telling members about that or that letters may be translated so that I was in fact corresponding with someone who culd not say a word in English...
But I agreed to stay with dating-ru, and have been satisfied until
these new "rules" came.
Of course I consider it dishonest to lock the inbox without saying so, and to say that "receive" means something else in your vocabulary !
The information was mailed to me June 16th, and says NOTHING about that.
Don´t you think that it would be honest to tell the members ???
It also says:"All clients who have had paid order in 2003 will receive one month of the premium membership Free."
"All letters are free to the independent girls with email, and $6 per letter/answer delivery"
If I am not mistaken, I still had to pay 8 dollars for my last letter,
and this girl turned out to have e-mail !!!
According to rules, that letter should be free, and other letters 6 dollars, not 8 as I paid, because I was Premium member until last week.
Maybe "new" rules again that has not been sent to members.....
Regarding "receiving" letters as basic member, I really wonder if you know what the word means.
It would be like running a hotel and say "We serve breakfast between 8-10" and when guests arrive you say: "We said "serve" breakfast", not that you are allowed to eat it!!!".
OK, I appreciate if you send me the 3 letters where there are addresses to the girls, thank you.
I can´t see which letter it is as I cannot open them anymore, but I think they are from April and May, and the 3rd in July.
Dear Janne!
No matter how you interpret our rules, we dont change them.
I e-mailed you those messages yesterday.
As for the girl who "turned out to have an e-mail". Every girl has an e-mail here. The difference is if its her own e-mail access at home or she is using agency's e-mail. It is clearly written under each profile if the girl is using agency's e-mail.And in fact, in her next letter to you she clearly wrote that she doesn't have an e-mail.Most probably you havent read it since your membership expired.
I hope that since you got the messages you could not read we have nothing to argue about.Rules are rules, and they work no matter how you undetrstand them or how you want them to sound, sorry.
PS.As for you example with a hotel "We serve breakfast between 8-10" and when guests arrive you say: "We said "serve" breakfast", not that you are allowed to eat it!!!".
I would add here-not allowed to eat it. Until you pay.
The majority of people is smart enough not to need those last words to understand what does SERVE BREAKFAST means.
This (Russian, I presume) site is based on the English language hence this (and only this) dictionary shall apply.
The meaning of the word ‘receive’ has, amongst others, implied property rights in it.
‘Mail’ is not an envelope or a name for its carrier, it is the message itself. Disclosure is implied by default because without a message there is no mail.
Oleg, you refer Sweden to “your mailbox” (i.e. his), a terminology doubly implying property rights. Are you talking about Mail itself (i.e. a disclosed or discloseable message) or only a notification of messages present?
According to your somewhat limited grasp (no offense, better than my Russian) of the site’s default language “receive” means having mail deposited in some vault, the unlocking of which will take place after you having received payment.
Sweden, scan your dues, mail the jpeg to Oleg. Make sure you include the picture and not attach it, and flag the message so you will have proof of reception meaning proof of Display and Disclosure both.
He then has ‘received’ the money what you owe.
I am quite sure he will gladly open the vault for such gesture, a gesture he will understand because it is on a par with the level of crookery laid bare here, a level somewhere at belt-height or thereabouts hence potentially utterly sensitive.
And Suede, thanks for sharing this type of information with us, it is something we all (minus the odd one) want to hear about. It reinforces our perpetual trust in sites like this, where all is done in openness and the mere use of the word ‘dishonesty’ is a crime in itself, so we can continue to gullibly dump money into it.
Afore ye go, be a sport and also tell us IF Oleg was happy to receive the above-mentioned moneys and swapped your Notification of mail for real Mail ? I am sure he will, the length of this thread is costing him dear whilst it saves us.
Enjoy your holiday.
Olga,
I have just had a chance to log on to internet and I have received the
letters, thank you !
In the mail from the agency I was asked not to make complaints here at the forum about fiance.com
But:
I could have written about fiance.com in my magazines or other forums, but I think it is honest to write here so that you have a fair chance to respond and tell us about your services...
Regarding the word "receive" it seems that you are one of very few who has another opinion about that word. I have checked with some English dictionaries as well.
Yes Olga, I have read the rules, but what I was complaining about was that inboxes were closed with no warning.
(It does not help to read the rules if you like to use words like "receive" in an other meaning than the rest of the world does).
In my last letter I asked about the 8 dollars I paid for letters.
Reading the rules again, I see that I should only have paid 6 dollars
as I was a Premium member during that time !
Wishing you a nice summer,
Janne
P.S
Thunderdome, thanks.
I have got some email as well from members.
I will use your advice after my holiday when I shall "pay" Oleg
for the membership....
I dont know what kind of response you expect. But since its my job to answer your questions, here it goes. You had to pay 8$ because it costs 8$.It was 8$ from the very first day this servcie was launched. Thats it. Nothing will change here.
What I wonder about is: you paid your 8$ om july 10. On July 22 ( according to your forum post) you started wondering about it. Did you need 12 days to realise that 6 is not 8? Or, havent you seen the cost of the message written above the letter form of a girls page? Or, was you credit card charged for 8$ without your permission? Or anything else like that?
We dont charge for letters automatically. You make an order, see a price, submit your order and asked to confirm it. If you expected it to be 6 why you still made this order?
Hi, Sweden!
I just came to the website. Looks nice.
and comparing to many other websites - this one has reasonable pricing I think. So what's the big deal about those 2 bucks?
If you receive an ad where some certain stuff is priced for instance at $6 a piece and upon going to the store you see its price at $8 - it's up to you to buy or to refuse. The prices are determined by the company's authorities - and if you don't approve - you simply don't pay and don't make all the fuss.
Besides that, this is a good forum with a great many of good and informative topics discussed - if you are of such an articulate kind - then why not talk about something else?
Olga:
What kind of answer I expect?
Why it costs 8 dollars and not 6 as the "rules" says of course !!
It takes a few days before I get the receipt from the bank, and when
I compared the receipt from my bank with the mail from you with prices and rules, I see that it doesn´t make sense.
Besides, I have been on vacation and had no Internet access.
"It was 8$ from the very first day this servcie was launched. Thats it. Nothing will change here."
Rules say:"All letters are free to the independent girls with email, and $6 per letter/answer delivery to the girls without the email,"
(Maybe 6 means 8 in Russia?)...
I am sorry if I trouble you with these questions, but I get a bit worried when I get answers like that "receive" means something else to you, and the fact that the site is named "fiance.com" (= males),
when you seem to mean ladies (female).
As it is an English site, the official meaning of words must apply here (from an Oxford dictionary for example), and not how the words are used in Russia.
Zilex:
Yes, from the start it was a very good site, and the forum is a great idea.
But when rules changed and my inbox was locked without notice + moderator says that the word "receive" means something different in Russian dictionaries, I get a bit angry, to be modest...
Is still prefer it the way it was before, when one payed per letter, and not per month.
I have no need to send hundreds of letters if I have just a few women I write to.
Besides, first letter from girls were free of charge before, which was a good idea as the answer often is just "Sorry, decline".
Russia is developing fast, but they still have a lot to learn from the rest of the world, to get on well with them.
As they are not qualified to become a member of the EU they get very isolated, and when the Baltic countries soon are EU members, Russians will need a VISA wherever they go.
Please read the answer above. Its not gonna change after you ask the same question a dozen times more or create the same topic.
It was a question to moderator-I answered. If you are not satisfied with it-send a message to CEO of the company and get an official response(in fact this will be more accurate, because they are who determine the rules of the company).
You keep referring to the rules and I have read them many times,
but I still don´t understand in what cases the price is 6 dollars then..??
To me, it sounded very clear, so of course I am confused when you say that the rules says 8 dollars....
Rules say:"All letters are free to the independent girls with email, and $6 per letter/answer delivery to the girls without the email,"
There is no reason for you to be aggressive just because members ask questions about the membership.
If you wish to exclude members from the forum, you should instead take a look at those using "fourletterwords" when they describe women.
