I am considering a prospecting trip to either Volgograd (Russia) or Donetsk (Ukraine). And thoughts or opinions on which I should choose?

Jet: Just put your question to my wife for you......after a little laughter she asked me does he want town or woman? to which I replied I don't know. Her answer for you buddy......if going for woman,go where all the women are..(vague or what?)...and if you are sightseeing then she suggests Volgograd.Donetsk being a predominantly mining town and consequently a bit industrial! On pressing a little more for you and being from Kharkov she suggested her home city...can't say as I did too bad there..:)))

Jet: BTW if it helps try this link for lots of info about Donetsk www.info.dn.ua/eng/ for Volgograd the best portal is www.volgograd.ru,but you will have to translate as the entire site is in russian!

jetmba, How are you doing? From what I can tell recently. two hot cities are Kharkov and Nikolaev and nearby cities of Sumy and Odessa I have heard that it is better in the smaller cities and also less hassle in Ukraine than Russia.

Fro what i have heard Kharkov is full of American men and that is no good to anyone seeking a lady there.

Hi glad - nice to hear from you again. Nice to hear from you beemer, as well. Unfortuantely, what it comes down to is Volgograd and Donetsk. Those are the two cities I have to choose from. According to promoters the draw to Donetsk is the idea that it is supposed to be a large population center. Of course Volvograd (once known as Stalingrad) is the third largest city in Russia. I come from a smaller city - so I am not looking for a big city girl. But I understand that many younger women tend to migrate to bigger cities - leaving genuine miners in mining cities. I am also condiering that Ukraine, being more accessable to Europeans, may already be very westernized while perhaps Russia wouldn't be as much. All opinions still welcome.

If your interested in Donetsk Jet, Just an hour ride from there is Mariupol, which in my biased opinion and I met some of Larysa's friends, are serious. It's a bit off the beaten path, but really worth the trip there. So if you do Donetsk, Mariupol is really worth a serious look. Doc in Naples says hello. We had a meeting of the 1% club there, Neon,Skiired and Myself.

Jet We are supposed to be keeping this one quite.)) I dont know what Volgograd is like but I'll be there in a few weeks and let you know. From the women Ive messaged, they seem down to earth. Not so taken in by the flash of Moskov but not so poor that they are desparate. The one Im meeting has an apartment, car, interent at home, travelled to Cyprus and Egypt, so life isnt so tough. The general concenus is the guys there are hopeless, the women are the only ones that work. Whats up with these guys is something I want to try and figure out when Im there. From the photos they have sent me there are not many sights. They have one humungus statue and a whole lot of nothing else, except of course attractive women, but we're keeping that quite)). Happy hunting

I just did quick search Jet. If you are using this site, restricting your search to just one city the size of Volgograd would severely limit your options. It would only leave one or two girls to write to. If you eliminated Moscow and St Petersburg, couldnt you go to almost any other city and find the type of girl you are looking for? It would give you 100 times more options.

Nasfan6: Thanks for the advice. I hadn't mentioned it before but Mariupol would likely be on the itinerary if I go to Donetsk. And its the sirection tha tI am leaning right now. You certainly seem happy about your prize. And any tree with one great apple on it proably has a few others. I'd like to send a Hello back to Doc (neonred) in Naples through you or if he is reading this directly. It was really great to meet him and izi with my exfiance for dinner at neonred's house. Even my exfiance said that the girl who lands him would be pretty lucky! I hope that all us going well with him as well. Adman: I must admit it is a little disconcerting that so few women from Volgograd seem to show up on this website. The same is also true for several other sites. PAGES are listed for Donetsk, but only a few are listed for Volgograd. As I have mentioned previously - I don't tend to write a lot of letters anyway - and glossy glamour shots are not always a good indication of a serious woman - but still the lack of ads gives one pause to think. And these are additional factors that make me lean toward Ukraine.

Mariupol is a shithole as well. I spent a few days over there last month. Nice girls, though :-)

I always thought Volgograd would be interesting to see because it is of course where the famous battle of Stalingrad took place in World War 2 between the Russians and Germans. I'm not sure if there would be interesting monuments to see or not, anyone else know? You never really see many women from Volgograd on Agency sites I don't think, it's too bad it's better to do some site seeing and tourism with meeting some women I think. At least that's how I see it.

This website seems to concentrate on girls who need interpretors to communicate with them, obviously to keep guys subscribing. If anyone wants to find girls who are prepared to write directly to them, in not so perfect English grammar, but much more personal, then try: Bride.ru. The site rotates the profiles so that there are different ladies there each week, and you exchange e-mail details and write independant of any agency. The girls there are mainly Russian, with good English skills, and lots from Volgograd.

Forgot to mention too that if you are so inclined to put a personal profile on their site, there is absolutely no charge for this service, though this too rotates, and so may only be there for a few weeks, but this is plenty time for lots of ladies to contact you. I have been corresponding with a really nice lady for a few months now from Volgograd whom I contacted via Bride.ru, though I had to subscribe to the site to obtain her e-mail address.
