I leave April 1 and return April 11 to meet Tatiana. I am excited as this is a pretty remote part of the world. All research shows it is safe for Americans to travel there. There are quite a few Americans in Bishkek (the capital where I will be) as there is an Army base to supply the war in Afghanistan. Tatiana looks great on paper and all of our correspondence leads me to believe that she may be the one. However, I do have a back up plan if there is no chemistry in the first couple of days. I will keep you all posted.
John, Bishkek is very very close to Almaty (a few hours drive). Bishkek is small, limited in availabilities that u may seek, so do not miss the opportunity to visit a big capital, Almaty, one where many good agencies, like oksanalove, have either a marriage agency office or their hQ. Wish u all the best to central asia, not as remote as u say since many political US/Russian Federation influence is, and has been, present. Please visit Lake Karikum, where I used to in 2003 be the only sailor to sail at this time of year (on a minute few feet length "Laser"), ancd where I had yes great sex in the summer on the beach. Enjoy.
Ya neez nayo. I don't know. Of course I'll be flying over atlantic since I fly from Atlanta to Moscow.
What I told Tatiana is let's consider us to have 3 days together. If we both feel like there's something then we'll spend the rest of the time together. Otherwise, we go our seperate ways.
And yes King Arthur... The country is called Kyrgyzstan. Are you saying I misspelled it? That is the correct spelling.
And Borat is SUPPOSEDLY from Kazahkstan not Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyz: Кыргызстан; Russian: Киргизия, variously transliterated, also Kirgizia or Kirghizia), officially the Kyrgyz Republic, is a country in Central Asia. Landlocked and mountainous, it borders Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the southwest and the People's Republic of China to the southeast. Kyrgyzstan means the "Land of Forty Tribes.
If your flight originates in Phoenix, you should have talked to me. Aeroflot flies out of
LA to Moscow. It is a great flight, 11 1/2 and plane is not full, so you usually have two seats if not whole row to sleep. Flight is well under $1000. In May it is just under $1000.
Good luck..are you tranfering from terminal 2 to 1(or vise versa)? Must arrange taxi ahead of time or you might as well bend over now!!
I paid about an extra $200 to fly Delta to Moscow from Phoenix then Aerflot from Moscow to Bishkek. I prefer to give my business to American airline in addtion to I have a buddy on the same flight going to Moscow. That's worth a lot! Explain more on changing terminals. Do they not have shuttles?
johnwill,
If you are changing terminals at Moscow SVO airport then you will need a Russian transit visa for each transit ..... just in case you are and hadn't realised it.
Go online with gotorussia.com(under transfers)and specify you need transfer from one terminal to another on form
in notes box. How many stops do you have? There is a chance your flight will be late arriving or customs and baggage claims take very long and miss a flight, so be aware. Nobody speaks much english in those terminals. Check your iteniary to see if you have to change terminals in Moscow. I agree with using US airlines BUT it is a very short flight non-stop AND plenty of leg room, that was enough for me. I do fly US airlines to Kiev thou. By the way, if you speak Russian maybe you can find out about shuttles, none that I know of.
I found out for sure. I DO NOT need transit visa. I fly into SOV2 and leave SVO2. I have a 12 hour (yes, 12 hours) layover there. I went to gotorussia.com and paid $80 to use the Business lounge. I think it will be well worth the money.
So I quite psyched about this trip. I am surprised more people don't visit this country. It is very conservative and Tatiana is the traditional Russian woman. She is 28, never married (engaged 2 times but they ended up being alcoholics) has always lived with mama and babooshka (shares the same bedroom with mama), no kids and just seems so sweet. Of course I will know more when I meet her. On paper she is the one but much can change upon meeting her and spending time with her.
This is quite a poor country. She is a dental assistant and works her ass off and makes about $200 a month. Yes things are cheap there but she makes just enough to make ends meet. She has never left her country, been on a plane, gone swimming, etc. She is quite strong spirited and she seems to be the one that calms me down when I tell her it is difficult to wait to see her and how I get lonely at times. Yes, I sound foolish but I have taken a vow to not screw around here until I meet her then decide from there. This is tough because I have always gone out with a lot of different ladies and love the companionship. But American chicks have all become the same to me. This will be my first venture there and I hope to strike gold this first trip. If not, I can at least say I had fun and met some interesting people.
