Last year I was working in Europe and able to travel throughout countries like Russia, Ukraine and Moldova. In Tomsk, I met a beautiful girl, we are noe planning to meet in Thailand next month.
While everything is almost in order, in regard to tickets, she has recently lost her International Passport. So before can actually book the tickets online or over phone, we need the passport as must provide these details.
In regard to the processing time, she told me it should be 2 weeks, but looking through this forum I found a post back in 2004: http://forum.fiance.com/forum2.asp?Main=ShowTopic&topicid=664&page=2 from Rina. She mentions the following:
"
About Russian passport for another countries.
To receive such passport , we have 2 ways.
1 - girl write special paper ( very easy ) and go at OVIR ( girl know , what is it ). There you give this paper, and 4 your picts.
Passport can be made at month , 2 weeks and 3 days. If make it in 3 days, it will cost near 30 $. If in 2 weeks - 18$. If in month - 9 $.
And girl receive the passport without nay problems.
2 way .She go to agency , pay big money for work , that she can make herself at few hours.
At Ukraine - the same way. At another countries - I don’t know.
"
Does anybody know if this is still correct? If so, the 3 day option looks great, although I have to ask if that really is $30 or if it should say $300? I have some Ukrainian friends in Denmark and they would say that there, in order to get the passport quickly, you'd expect about $300. Ofcourse $30 would be brilliant, but just want to ask if anybody knows the current situation.
Sounds like ure Danish friends are right and the above procedure in the threads was valid a year ago - what is 270 USD extra anyway on a honeymoon type vacation costing several thousand to thailand.
Sounds strange though to loose ure international passport.
Last I heard a girl would not be admitted to Thailand unless she was married.
That was in 2003.
I guess things have changed.
I guess u must be right: she is sincere, loyal, trustworthy and definetely totally 100% above bard and honest, upfront, communicative about any problem.

My girl had no problems being entering Thailand last year. But do make sure your girl knows the name of the hotel where shes staying. They ask these sort of questions on arrival.
It is a good thing your girlfriend is getting a new passport. Another girlfriend of mine went to Thailand with her parents. Her passport was valid, but not for the next 6 months as they require. They ended up holding her in custody for a whole day before allowing her to enter. She hates even the mention of the place.
I still think Thailand is a great place to meet for a romantic holiday. Id do it again for sure.
