It's further evidence that I'm starting to believe that maybe more than half of FSU women featured on websites and attending social tour events are NOT serious about leaving their country for a guy. In my last two trips to Ukraine (Kiev & Lugansk), I noticed a sense of pride and happiness among the Ukrainian girls I met. They seem to be proud and love their country. Good for them. What I don't understand is how they're able to afford the nice clothes that they wear. And in one particular example, a woman claims that it's expensive to mail a letter by post overseas. I will NOT pay for translators. I refuse, not because I can't afford it, or because they're not helpful. I refuse because hiring a translator scoffs in the face of objective reality. That reality is that you and these women are going to have to learn to communicate in the same language, on your own, sooner or later. In my book, sooner is better than later. I've begun studying a little Russian. Any women on this site who is sincere had best have started to learn English. If we have to comminicate in some bastardized version of Russo-English, that's just fine with me. I have been to Ukraine several times and spent a few days in Odessa and can say that it is one of the countries where I have experienced the least of problems. For sure you need to have ID on you at all times - like in all EU countries except the UK, so the same police aggression could have happened perfectly legally in Berlin, Paris, Rome or Amsterdam. Check it up with your embassy if you may. Regarding prostitutes, it is a well known fact, documented on the fiance.com site, and world wide TV news programmes, that many girls in prostituion in the USA, UK, EU, Australia, and even in Dubai or Pakistan, come from the Ukraine. Therefore it is no surprise to find many of them there. If she can't talk english and you can't talk her language and you need a translator, the whole exercise of finding and meeting a foreign wife is a waste of time and money. I am against the use of translators and intermediaries for the purpose of communication in internet dating and personal meetings and against paying for them as also using them, leaves things wide open to fraud and manipulation by agencies and the girl herself, as you as the guy will never be able to know what is exactly being said in the translation and what is actually going on. Only 2 things can possibly give it a chance of working. 1. The foreign girl is sufficiently fluent in English to be able to communicate with you and understand everything you say without any use of translators or translation devices. 2. You, as the guy can speak and understand her language fluently eg you can speak/understand Ukrainian, Russian etc. In either of these two situations, only can you get to know the girl and develop a relationship and you are also better able to sus her out and what her real intentions are. He was in his fifties - and not particularly bright. He went to Ukraine with the the intent of meeting four or five fashion model quality 18 year olds (he posted links to their pictures). Al lof the girls were of course gorgeous and all of them wanted hundreds of dollars in advance to pay for their transportation to meet this guy (after all they ahd to take busses and trains, maybe a plane). All of the girls gladly took his money in advance and none of the girls SHOWED UP! IMAGINE THAT! And he was all upset. You HAVE TO be realistic.
