I've been searching for my FSU bride now for about 4 years. I've pretty much seen it all and have tried it all. It has been a wonderful experience even though thus far I have failed. The marriage agencies are now just too corrupt and even if you do find an honest one the girls in the agencies turn out to be corrupt. I've also met many girls by chance in the street, cafe, and discos. Met many nice girls but most of those type don't want to live abroad. Well, my friend known as RK on this forum has met a real nice girl by using the services of this guy named Slava in Kharkov. For $130 Slava will place my personal ad with photo in some kind of local singles paper. The ad will run for one week. He will be the point of contact for the ladies. He will then ask all personal information and make a list of ladies who have replied to my ad. We then go over the list and choose the ones I wish to meet. He placed my ad today because I arrive next week. He said expect about 30 to 40 dates. 5 will turn out to be model quality. 10 will be very pretty. The rest I will find average to not attractive. I wont have the luxury of a photo so I will have to blind date on personal info he gathers. I will be doing the short power dating for a few days. Hope to find one that captures me and I capture her. Wish me luck. I read you return trip thread. Good thing you had multiple backup plans. It's hard to believe there are still some guys who preach "Only go there to meet one girl". Your trip is perfect example of why to have backup plans. John did you hit the streets and cafe's and disco with an interpreter? I found it very helpful in meeting the ladies. But in the end the girls mostly never considered or thought about marriage to a foreigner. Alexander, I have heard about you from RK. If I ever decide to go to Lugansk region I will be sure to use your help. Tony, I sent Slava an email and invited him to join this forum. Maybe he will post his contact information for you. Also, I don't want to misquote Slava. The model, pretty, and average girl percentages I mention above came from a guy named Thor who passed it on to RK. Thor is now married to his girl. What they say is don't lie and try to convince multiple girls that you have been writing to - that you have only come all this way to spend two days with them. You HAVE to have a backup plan - and if you actually read johnwill's account - even his backup plan failed to pan out. That's why you need some names and addresses - or at least as johnwill did, an idea of where an agency is - that was how he met Irina. It didn't work to have multiple girls and lies for each one - what worked was a new girl that he was not even aware of when he left. You say you are going to Kharkov? I'll be not far away in Donetsk. Beem, I'm assuming that these girls are just looking for nice guy due to the fact that a nice guy is hard to find. Especially in Ukraine! Remember from the very beginning the two main reasons these beautiful girls even search for a mate abroad is because the number and quality of the men avaiable to them is bad. Then there is the economic factor. So, Im hoping these girls are trying local personal ads to find a good man. Being a foriegner may help me or hurt me in these ads. If they have a site you can look at some girls and have your backups, just in case, which usually becomes needed. First I must say that Slava's service and professionalism was 100%. I was very impressed with him. He gave good advice and his method of meeting the ladies was solid. His interpreter service is excellent and he is not greedy when he is working on the clock for you. I purchased the one week ad with photo for $130. I think this is the way to go. I provided Slava with all my personal information similar to my profile I would send to ladies in the marriage agencies. From this he wrote my ad on my behalf which included certain instructions by me. The ad was a huge success in terms of response. All total we got about 70 replies. From this 70 I was only able to meet 12 ladies. Why? I had a time factor problem. I was only in Kharkov for one week. I recommend two weeks or more. Or a 10 day trip which will include two weekends. The problem is the ladies are usually not available to meet during the day. Busy working or in University. So, our meetings usually started after 4 PM. During the weekends they are available to meet throughout the day and evening. A few of girls replied by email with photos, some replied by sms (Text message), and some did what is called a missed call. This is a signal for the man to call her back on his money. Slava provides this service included in the $130. 80% of the information will be without a photo. So, I narrowed my list down by age, height, and weight. I got my list down to about 40 and then we started making the calls to arrange meetings. Again due to the short time factor and the narrowing of my list I was only able to meet 12 ladies. Slava's method of meeting the ladies is perfect. Being that most of your meetings will be blind dates it is good to have a back door to escape. Slava arranges the meetings in front of a McDonald's near a metro station which is simple and convenient for the ladies to find. When the lady arrives Slava will introduce you. If you're not impressed with her initially you can suggest coffee in the McDonald’s. This is a signal for Slava to know you’re not interested and the meeting will be kept short. If the girl impresses you then you will suggest a cafe for coffee or tea and Slava will lead you to nearest cafe. We scheduled our meetings every hour. 4 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm etc etc. This seems to work best even if you like a particular girl. It's best to move on and set up a second meeting with her another day because the next girl could be even better. Of the 12 girls I met 2 of them were very beautiful, 2 were not attractive at all, and the rest of them were what I would say good looking. This was the percentage I expected. You’ve got to sift through the coal to find the diamonds. In the end I have met two girls that I would like to return and meet again. During the meeting Slava encourages you to take charge of the conversations. I agree with this. These are not marriage agency girls expecting the same kind of questions from and interpreter who works for an agency. This is a girl who thinks Slava is your friend helping you out with the meeting. It's all about you and the girl. Of the 12 ladies I had met not a single one of them was a scammer in any form. Trust me I know the type. I have met hundreds of ladies in Ukraine. Of course Slava will pay attention to the girls and offer you his opinion but during my meetings we both knew the girls were all sincere. We even met a local rich girl. She pulled up in an $80,000 Lexus. She owned her own business. As far as the cost are concerned. Well, it can add up at $10 per hour which is Slava's interpreter fee. This is the going rate. But even at 5 hours a day working with him the cost will be less than dating a marriage agency girl and you can take comfort in knowing you’re not getting cheated by the agency interpreter and the girl you are meeting. Sometimes they work as a team and split the interpreter money. Just some points though, Slava makes money from interpreting, you say he/you go to McD's or a cafe, might one presume that none of these ladies speak enough English to not leave Slava behind, could it be that English speakers replied to you ad but it was not to Slava's advantage to tell you about them? Just some points that I thought worth asking. My girl does a bit of interpreting on the side these days -still you would need to be where we live for her to be of any benifit to you ------- Ive been lucky ive always had a ''bridge '' english speak girl 2 of her friends same and i worked with poms over there so my need for speaking russian was ohh so little . I forgot to mention that 6 of the 70 replies were from girls who spoke and understood English. I was able to arrange meetings with three of them. And of course there was no need for Slava's service. Of course Slava is hoping to get interpreter work from this but one of the things I liked about him was he never pushed his service on me. In fact on one date we met a girl who spoke and understood some English but she had not mentioned it on her reply. Slava could tell she was understanding what I was saying and he asked her if she understood English and could speak it. She said she could but not very good. After the date Slava told me if I wanted to see her again that there was no need for him. He said she just lacks confidence but if she and I were alone I would see she could manage to communicate with me. Personally I hope this idea spreads thoughout Ukraine.
