I was told by an attorney that he gets his visas sooner than anyone else because he has been working in the business and does hundreds every year. I do think this is true and as I understand it, visas are all received and processed in the same manner no matter who sends it in.
Also, the CIS website says California is at about 6 mos. in processing the K1 visa. Others have told me that 90-100 days is more accurate. Anybody have any personal experience with the CA processing center?
The California Center takes about 4 to 5 months. The only thing that will make a visa go faster is if you do not make any mistakes with the application, you attach copies of everything, and check everything again and again.
A good website for visa information is visajourney.com
This lawyer just wants your money for something you can do yourself.
I was fed that line by a lawyer in the past and fell for it. All you have to do is like Cycleserg said. Get your paperwork right and you be ok. Visajourney even has sample forms to follow. Any questions just ask. Dont waste your money
i had a lawyer do my k1 and after what i saw that he did i wasted the money i could have done the same thing and saved myself some money but like they say above make sure you do the paperwork correct and there wont be any problems.our process went thru ca also because tx is always behind i cant remember but i think from the time i started the process until she got her visa was about 4-6 months but i cant remember but it would have taken the same time whether i did it or lawyer, now we are waiting on the greencard for her son they lost the papers somewhere, she got her greencard in 90days after we filed to adjust her status and did her son's at the same time but still waiting on his he has been approved just waiting on them to print the greencard good luck hammer
