Hi All! I am an Indian and I want to go to Moldova. Unluckily there is no consulate of Moldova in India and hence for me obtaining a VISA to Moldova is really a challenging task. I have been contacting the travel agencies there but of no use :(((( None of them could send me and invitation. Please help me in this regard as this is very crucial and important!!!!!!!!!!!
Rudra:
from past memory I'm sure you can obtain a Moldovan Visa at the point of arrival...airport for example, there are members here on the forum who have done just that, jetmba for instance.
Jet: if you're around maybe you could elaborate further?
Glad,
I have read also about receiving visa at airport, it is same as going to Turkey. Not 100% though, I don't know
if there are any restrictions for someone from India, if that is where you are from Rudra
He can not get a visa at the airport as he needs an invitation first since hes got an indian passport. He can get an invitation from a hotel or individual. I've never seen hotels offering this service in Moldova thou, and i would suggest contacting some of the best hotels there. That means you have to stay at the hotel. But i don't understand if its so important to go there, surely he knows someone and is able to get them to issue an invitation.
I found the best way to get any Visa is through Visahq.com. They helped me out a grate deal in going to Belarus. I just got back and it was easy. Just go to the web site or call them and they will tell you just how to obtain all the information you will need and they possess everything for you for @$100.00 USD
I do think he needs a letter of invitation (haven't done any research - but I am pretty sure). A lette of invitation can be gotten for a fee from some hotels I think (though I've never had to get one myself) I seem to recall reading that the Hotel Cosmos with issue an invitation for a fee whether or not he stays there (its pobably free if he stays there). They are easy to get in contact with over the web - I suggest you aim an inquiry at them.
ben:
forgot you had Moldovan experience, could only remember Jet going there. Also wasn't too sure with Rudra saying he was Indian. Is it still possible for US/EU citizens to do the visa at the airport?
Rudra:
Good advice from ben, assuming you are going to visit a lady can she not "invite" you otherwise I would suggest a change of travel agent, if they are not savvy enough to know about visa regulations then maybe they don't deserve your business!
Beemer:
never had to worry about a visa for Turkey being an EU citizen....:))I do know that a Turkish visa is an easy one to obtain for FSU ladies though as my wife used to regularly visit there for holidays.
yeah gladiatorUK actually US/EU don't even need to get an visa at all, just get the passport stamped. I used to have to stuff around with invitations and it was a real plain but now have an EU passport. They could take 4 weeks to get issued, but you could get them in 1 week if you tell them its urgent. Hotels could probably do it faster. The invitation can be left at the airpoint for you which saves having it sent via DHL to you.
Thanks to all of you pals! You guessed it right that I am going to meet someone with whom I have been in touch since last 2 years. Getting an invitation for me approved from the ministry there is really a difficult task and hence I was checking for the other ways. I also contacted one four star hotel there but they denied from any VISA arrangements for me and hence I am helpless. I would be higly obliged if anybody could guide me for the best and safe approach. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have also checked with moldova.visahq site but as per the information there on the web page, an Indian requires any of the following two docs to get the VISA which I don't have
1. Green card
2. US VISA
So the problem is still there and never seems to end. Please help........
Rudra, from my experience getting the person you know to obtain the invitation is the best way. I can't see how that would be a problem other than the hassle for the person having to obtain it.
Hi Adman & Ben!
I really appreciate your concerns but the thing is that till so far we have never met face to face and when she enquired the same to the ministry of external affairs there then she was told that she must show some kind of proof to prove that we met somewhere and on the basis of this invitation visa MAYBE issued....
I am helpless......Please reply!!!!
Proof that you have meet?? what rubbish. I think a few dollars is the proof they are looking for. I'm not sure it can be done easy online like Russia or Ukraine unless your in the states.
You could be right Ben, online may not work for India to Moldova but if I was Rudra I would still give a few places like http://www.waytorussia.net a try. Even if they cant do the invite, they tell you how.
Let us know how you get on Rudra
Hi Adman!
Would you please let me know that if I have an invitation letter stamped from the ministry of home/external affairs of Moldova then what else I need to get into that country? Let me put it in a more clearer way. If I get an invitation letter like the one I said from the girl who is inviting me,what else is required to enter into country?
Please reply.
Rudra, you need a passport photo, address of the where you are staying (you need to fill out a visa application on arrival) and $60 (and pen to fill out the form). I take it the girl was able to get one without having had meet you then?
Yeah all you need is invite and a flight itinerary, then apply for visa. Let us know how you get on with that invitation, It is normally a lot of trouble for your girl to get it for you.
Adman, if hes got the invite he can get the visa at the airport. But he should have a passport photo as its required on the visa application. As is where he will be staying. Its not the same as Russia, an embassy will not issue a visa with a copy of an invitation. He needs to at least get someone to leave the orginal invite at the airport or take the orginal with him. Better to take the orginal if you can.
Hi Ben and Adman,
Both of you have really been very guiding for me as I feel a bit relaxed. Here I can summarize the information I have gathered:
1. I need to keep the original copy of the stamped invite letter with me while reaching at the airport.
2. A passport size photograph for the issuance of on-arrival visa.
3. ????????
I don't want to leave any stone unturned and hence I enquired some other people as well and I was told that I should be having a visa note issued by the ministry of home/external affairs, stating that I should be given the visa at the time of arrival there. But still there is no confirmation of the same information. She (my girl) is also fighting to know the best she can and by god's grace she is alomst successful to get that invite letter stamped from the ministry still I am trying to know more as its now both of us fighting for it.
Here I have people like you guys, helping people like me without seeking any favor and I am really thankful to you for that. I still hope you to be the same.... Please reply!!!
