I am concerned about the transfer from one terminal to the other. I believe I have to go through customs first, get my bag and then try to find my way to Aeroflots terminal. Luckily, I have about 3 hours between flights. I need a very descriptive, visual of how I do all of this. I would rather take a taxi than a minibus. Also, would be happy to pay someone to move my luggage from baggage claim to taxi. Just don't want to get ripped off since I may have the "dear in the headlights" look. Thanks, Christina
Christina,
I used gotorussia.com to arrange tranfers from terminal 1 to terminal 2, I think it is $45 usd
Some taxi's at airport charge up to $60 for transfer between terminals.
There was a thread back a couple months ago that gave much info.
What you believe is true, I had 1 1/2 hours and missed my flight. It took 45 minutes to go through customs and at least another half hour to get luggage. You will need to carry luggage out of pick-up area to where all taxi people are. About a 15 minute drive to domestic terminal.
Not much english spoken there.
Sheremetyeyo Airport is a zoo at 5PM on a Friday afternoon.
There are taxi drivers as soon as you walk out of customs. Set the price before you get in the cab. The art of haggling is to look someone in the eye and tell then "nyet" then start to walk away. If they want your business they will chase you and lower their price.
The traffic getting out of the international airport and around to the other side to the domestic terminal is a nightmare. I had 3 hours between flights and the taxi driver did it in 1 hour. He drove on the side of the road in the dirt and around all the buses.
Do not take a bus if you do not have the time, you will miss your flight. With a little haggling I paid $25 US for the trip.
Customs was easy, I did not declare anything and just walked by. The passport check was easy, no problems.
Good luck Christina
Hi Chistina,
For some reason my previous post didn't get printed.
I did this transfer just last month at Sheremetyevo Airport, but mine was on a Thursday.
The taxi drivers will approach you within the main terminal as Cycleserg mentions, and these are just about the only ones here that speak good English. You should not pay more than 500 rubles for the transfer, (about$20), and even this is way above the local rate, and agree the fare before the journey.
However, if you are not too delayed at customs, the bus transfer is free, and took me about 20 mins. Simply ask one of these taxi guys where the desk is to get the free ticket, it is on the right, before the main exit. And upon obtaining the ticket, ask for the bus number. Straight outside of the main doors are numbered bus stops and the bus comes every 20 mins. Please note, these taxi drivers will try to charge you as much as they think they can get away with. On one occasion I was offered a trip for 5 times the local rate.
Hope this helps.

It was traffic from hell. The driver drove in the dirt around the traffic. Maybe there was an accident, I'm not sure.
It was around 5 PM, Moscow time. I thought I was back in the LA freeway.
I don't ever drive anywhere downtown LA during rush hour traffic. I would die if I had to drive to LA every
day to go to work. I live 25 miles north of there and try to NOT drive south, unless going to Manhattan Beach.
You know Tringa, if I was back in my 30's, I would not be here...I'd be hanging at the beaches. Manhattan, Redondo,
or Newport. There are babes everywhere, mostly in their 20's. BUT age and looks are everything..not money or brains.
Since most guys and girls are health conscious, girls slender & tanned and guys tanned and cut is the norm.
Girls I write to like to hear stories of Hollywood and what movie stars I have seen or met. Never has that been a focal point thou. Girls especially like stories of beaches up and down California, Beach Boys, surfin...it is
funny to hear what they say..like they came out of a capsule from 1960's. I was seeing a girl from Canada that would come down here several times a year. Because of weather and lifestyle, many people like to visit
