Sounds like a nice place to visit from what I have read. She says she wants to come here to America to meet with me. She claims to need $275 for the visa. I will post part of her last letter here so you can see exactly what she is saying. She says she speaks english well enough to talk to someone. Could someone tell me if she is for real or just trying to get money from me? She claims the the airline flight is payed for though her work. I don't understand this. She wrote before: I will have work visa so my firm will pay for tickets so you must not worry about tickets or money for tickets because my working firm will pay for this. But I must ask money help from you for payment for registration of my work visa and passport to your country, because I do not have any money right now. Anyway here is what she wrote with help from the translation program: I still hope to get your money help for my nesesary documents to your country sooner. I want to meet you faster, because my firm can give me some vacation at this time, because usually we have alot of work and now my boss decide to give me some more days. Today morning I have already had blood testing which I paid myself, it cost 17,5 $ US, test was taken 20 mins and my blood is OK do not have any viruses or bacteries so I may begin visa and passport registration. I still need that amount 275 $ US correctly so then I will be able to give documents and money to registration of the visa and passport and people in travel agency tolds to me that it would be ready in 10-14 days. You can see that it is much faster than to wait 3-4 months which usually this process borrows. Because I want to pay for promtness. My visa would work in your country maximum for 90 days. Sorry but I can not have visa for more days. I hope that you will not wait and will try to send me money faster that I might pay for this purpose. Then I have alreday might plan my flight to you, because my firm will help me to buy any tickets for any date (but of course not for first class). You know I plan to leave my country from SVO international airport in Moscow. It is closest international airport to me. Just remember one thing my firm will pay for international flight only. I want to arrive to you faster and my sweet now it depends only on you. I have already explained to you how difficultly to earn such money in Russia. And I do not want that money stops our relations. Really a little it is a shame to me to ask it from you but I have no other exit in this situation. I very much want to leave from here to you, I was bothered with my city, I want to see only you and to be only with you. I have never thought that I would fall in love to you so quickly and it is not some joke my feelings are real for you. I want to execute all your dreams and imaginations of me because I love you madly. I want to do only as you will wish. I very much believe in you and your help money faster. James, do not forget use Western Union or Money Gram. Sorry but we have not any other transfer system therefore one of those ways would good to use for us. Also I must to know your full address if I would receive it. But please do not think about me badly. I have only real and serious intentions for our dialogue. Please understand one simple thing. It is very very hard to borrow money from someone here in Russia. Please understand that average income here is 100-200 $ US in month. It is enough for living here but it is not enough for buy visa and passport for 300 $ US. Also please understand that nobody interests in our meeting therefore please understand that it is very difficult for people here to give such big money for me. Therefore I ask money help from you. Because I think we are both interest in our meeting. Now I do not have money for it. Hope you will understand me and my situation. May be you have credit card. As I learned in bank you can send money help to me using credit card. May be it will some easy for you. But you know as I know you can send money for me using your credit card, it will faster for you I think. I have learned about our transfer system here and I know that you can go to site and learn all about it yourself. Or they want me to receive some checks for them to cash and send the money. I don't know about the American Embassy in Russia, but getting a visa through a travel agency is bullocks. She would have to have had her packet mailed to her schedule an interview and previous to one day or so prior to interview she would need to have a physical done, not just a blood test. Also it seems she's trying to get your credit card number in a sly way. Very typical letter, I think they all have a template for this LOL!! jetmba. Then when shes about to leave to meet you theres a problem, she needs around $2000 to prove she can support herself in order to board the plane which she doesn't have, but she can pay you back when she gets to america because she has a job. And you will look pretty stupid standing in the airport, with a big bouquet of roses, as the last person gets off the plane - and it isn't her. I know a guy who was contacted by a scammer through Yahoo - who fell for this very scam. She(he? it?) sent him gorgeous pictures and he immidiately "fell in love". (and of course she was in love with him too - she told him.) Knowing I had BEEN to the FSU and had a Russian speaking fiance, he asked me for my advice. I told him DON'T DO IT! pver and over again. Undetered, he continued to write her and eventually DID send the money. To this day he will not talk about the incident. But close friends of his tell me that he went to the airport, roses in hand - only to discover that I was right. He left dejected. Don't hear many of these types very much anymore. Anytime I hear girl say anything about visiting me, it is probably a relationship going nowhere. jetmba. A smart scammer would hit up as many guys as possible, collect what (s)he could and then move on to use a different name and or pictures. And a lot of these scammers are smart. They were posing as Russian girl and raking in the money. It seems there are still people falling for it. People still fall for the Nigerian scam. And yet, yes, it's difficult to meet a good person over the Internet, no matter if you are looking within your country or abroad, but it's possible. Yes the Russian Embassy itself will not let her board an international flight unless she CAN show $1,000USD. this is an agreement they have with most western countries to try to combat scams and to avoid their expats from begging from the Govt. of the country they arrive in, AND to minimize costly deportations. You could "play" with him [yes it's always a him!] a little ;) send a small amount thru Western union and have Interpol involved as he sends some girl with a forged passport and other IDs to pick up his present, he pays her about $50USD and she's happy as a lark! for other amounts she will ring you on his behalf ... just to win you over! Keep the emails as proof, if you can't be bothered with all that at least report her to your local internet crime authority, in Australia they have a site set up just for these reports, I'm sure they'll have something similar in the US. and EU. countries too.
