Hello everybody,
I am searching for Internet agents to book a domestic flight in Ukraine from Lugansk to Kiev. I had a chance to take a look a few of these which are already a handful in sum. I know KiyAvia, Ukraine-Tours.com and Ukraine Faire. I will get the tickets on behalf of a friend of mine and have them sent to my friend through a courier or DHL.
Ukraine-tours.com seems to have the best deals when it comes to ticket prices but I am not sure if its worth paying a few bucks less and taking that risk. KiyAvia told me that they wont have any more flights from Lugansk to Kiev and Kiev to Lugansk after 27 th of October. So only ukraine-tours.com and ukraine faire are left as my options.
Which one should I use? What are your advices?
If you book through aerosvit you use e-ticket and pick up paper ticket from various locations( airport or offices). I have never had it mailed. I have heard ukrainefare is good also, have used them for other options.
thanks for your advices. I looked up AeroSvit but they dont seem to have any flights from Lugansk to Kiev no later than 27 th of October. I sent them an email explaining the situation but no reply yet. I will have to be in Kiev by 2 nd of November therefore I think I should find some other way, like ukrainefare.com or ukraine-tours.com to make a reservation and have them post the tickets to Lugansk to my friend.
I will be coming to Kiev Borispol from Istanbul and she will be coming to Kiev from Lugansk and we will hopefully meet at the airport.
I just got stuck! :)
Yes Djavu,
You have the right idea, exactly the right idea, provide the ticket(s) yourself rather than send money.
Obviously 27/10 is the end of the summer and thereafter is the winter, the words 'advance' and 'planning' do not appear in the same sentence in the Ukrainian language, thus it is merely a case that they haven't published the winter schedule yet.
Thanks for the advice Martin_FFC. So what do you suggest me to do? Should I wait for AeroSvit to schedule their winter flights or look at some other alternatives?
To tell the truth, I dont really rely on sending ticket via a courier in some place where I dont even know. So AeroSvit seems to be the best deal, you just get to the airport and get your ticket right there.
Djavu,
Well ukrainefare have tickets available on 02 November and they can courier to an address in the Ukraine for $15.
This would make the ukrainefare cost $147 compared to the aerosvit (summer) cost of $117.90, I personally wouldn't wait and wait but I would give it another week or so just to try to save $29.
Djavu...what about girl taking train...ukrainians must be used to it because it is their primary way of traveling
around and it would probably be under $50 for first class. I am traveling from Kiev to Odessa for $30.
Timing of flight from Lugansk to kiev might not work out good for you....very few flights.
thanks for the replies... beemer18, train is a very good idea, i have been seriously thinking about this train business because its really cheap. However, i dont know how to book a ticket for a train actually.. i think ukraine-tours.com has a booking service for this as far as I know. Are there any others? Is ukraine-tours.com safe?
if i cant really figure this out like Martin_FFC said, i might book a flight from ukrainefare although it will be quite expensive for me.
Thanks for the help,
Djavu....ukrainefare booked my train ticket and my transfer from airport to train station. I am not comfortable
enough with russian language to book train ticket by myself. I think ukraine-tours is more expensive. I have used ukrainefare for flights, apts, transfers and translators. They are reasonable, I have even got an apt within a few hours and if not happy with apt, they try to find another.
