Even supposedly "European Conversion charts don't seem to get this small". My lady wants a pair of American jeans - and she told me that she is size 27. Does ANYBODY know what size that would be in America? A lady I know guessed it to be about a Junior size 7 - but looking at it - I don't know. Jeans in Russia form Usa have the same sizes. anyway, different brands, different styles. it is difficult to buy jeans without fitting them. Womens sizes sart at around 4 or 6 - small and go up to about 22 (huge). This girl is around 105 pounds. She CERTAINLY isn't bigger than a 22. The sizes are all different. Like shoes. I wear a size 13 in the US. Something like a size 46 in Europe. And in any event it will be hard to find jeans actually MADE inthe US. JUNIOR sizes (like what teenagers wear) are all ODD numbers. I saw Junior sizes in 5, 7, 9, 11. So 5 1/2 (a woman's size) doesn't mean anything compared to 6 - which is a Junior size. Are there any WOMEN reading this - who might know what a 27 translates to - in women's or junior's? jetmba. What I did was search ebay when i was sent an a misson and I didn't require a women to help me. Size 27 is sold in the US for sure, a simple search of ebay tells me that. It also contained a link to am ebay standard measuring page. My lady just sent me a measurment telling me that her hips are 93 - dividing by 2.54 I get 36.614 inches. The ebay chart suggests that size 4 is 35.5 to 36.5 inches in the hip. Size 6 is 36.5 to 37.5. Further, for waist size 4 is 25 to 26. Siz 6 is 26 to 27. All in all it seems best that I go with a size 6 - lengths in women's jeans are petite, average and long (tall) - She gives me a height from floor ot waist - which I am thinking is average (?) This is all MOST helpful as already bought two pairs of Junior size 7 (SEEMED right) - which I will now take back for women's 6. And you are right - the reward is quite high for passing this test. :) You've got to love those direct Chinese to English translations though as on the page you directed me to. Did you notice that in the description of the jeans, one line said "Incompetent folds at thighs"? jetmba. If Lena is size 8 (a woman's size) how can she also be a size 7 (which is a much smaller junior size)? It a bit like boot sizes - every brand seems different with their sizing Formula.
