I have been to Ukraine and South America to see for myself what this marriage agency thing was all about. I don't pretend to be an expert, but I have this uncanny knack for meeting gold-diggers wherever I go. Probably the way I look - and the type of girl I like - has a lot to do with it. Yet, I really want to find the humble modest girl who I can spoil... it's a lot more fun than to have one pre-spoiled. ;p Ok, I wanted to create a topic to get everyones best anti-gold-digger advice. Believe it or not, cars are the one status symbol of most importance to any Ukraine girl. The next is the house / apartment / lifestyle furnishings, etc. You would be amazed at how much this one question reveals so much about a girl's true inner-world. If you ask it in an introduction letter - you will not leave time for this girl to know you are of more modest means then the BMW, Porsche - and even the Lamborghini one of these HYT (Hot Young Things) wanted to buy as her next car... You don't have to take my word for it... but it works when they dont know a thing about you. The ladies I had chat want to know the house size and the cars I have and also if I have a living maid, and so for. Want to get nice clothes and bags/shoes. But I also think that we are buying a nice younger wife, that the one we can get at home. If I get one who is not like that and willing to move or fell inlove with a regular man, I will keep her. Buying a wife - it sure seems like it OM. This is what is strange, there seems to be a noticeable scarcity of 25-35 year old women applying to the agencies from the FSU. While there is an enormous volume of 18-21 year old girls joining in the recent year or so. Yep, my hunting ground... and want to know what I began pulling out? Almost everyone of them wanted a brand-new sports car... 24/27. Now its how high a price tag of that sportscar that says everything So if you don't believe me - just start asking the girl you are writing. It speaks more volumes about who you are writing to. I am sure there are a few modest girls. I found one here, and she's really cute, but we ended it on more friends than anything else. Different views on other things is all. So much for true love. Yet, there are those rare beauties who hold on for love at first sight. You just have to get really really lucky your what she had in mind... She couldnt imagine having some stranger in the house looking after kid or doing cleaning. Early on in our relationship I had given her some money until my next visit. During my travels I had problem with my credit card and when i got to Ukraine I didnt have access to my accounts. She gave back all the money i had given her! I would bet in the long run that average would be the same, since most of the girls listed on this site are with agencys. Wow I would take a serious look at myself if someone that didn't know me or my culture would claim that I was superficial. That's scary. Maybe the messages sent out in the first place tells it all. Two things I've found out about the ladies in Ukraine is one they don't like liars and braggarts and egotists rank a close second. I found that most ladies were happy when I told them that I live in a house that is 3500 sf and have a living maid, a gardner and have three cars in the garage, so bad that I had even mail to two ladies and then I got how dummy I am. I can tell you a lot more about the girls I met who were not gold-diggers in Ukraine. But these guys want a reason to bitch, so they run in here and harp on some negative thing, so they can feel more adequate as 'men?'... Anyways, a lot of the more plain girls aren't as materialistic - a vast majority I did write.. ok only about 2 or 3 lol - we're very pleasant and did not require much but stability. I'm writing three girls that passed all my material-girl warning cues. So what you are seeing is a bit of jealousy - some previous disgruntlements because I insulted nasfan by mentioning there is no way in hell I would wait so long for a girl to make up her mind on me. She did. He did. I don't care. All you have to do is write letters that frighten all of the good women away. Send enough of them and you will get a gold digger. Good Ukrainians are a proud but modest people. They cannot stand arrogance. Write a letter bragging on what you have you will scare the good ones away. But surprise!!! You sounded sincere and wanting to help people. But you know ever since you started taking offense to aussieman's pathetic stories - well you began to get more and more offensive with each post. Read your posts from the last 3 months, and they end up badgering anyone with an opinion about anything. They call people like you bullies - If I were your wife, I'd be shocked and ready to leave you about now. You are passive aggressive and your intolerance of anyone with an opinion is readily observed. You have a very limited mind, little tolerance of a person's opinion. I knew this within weeks of meeting her. Apal’s test would have saved me a bundle. Also ask about their trips - have they been to Thailand, Costa Rica, Mexico etc? Usually a sure fire traveling pro dater. She will go with you too - but is it worth it? I doubt it. Do they like Crimea? Or are they too good for it - the water is “too dirty”. They will only swim in the deep oceans. Do they have expensive hobbies like horse riding? Do they order fresh juice and French mineral water and only drink half of it? Do they order a meal on a first date without your permission? Did they drag you to a high priced restaurant at which they might get a commission? Do they want presents such as boots and handbags on a first or second date? Do they spend the whole date boasting about all the presents men give them, then tell you they are now going to pick up some flowers and chocolates? Are they a professional model buy only five feet tall? Do they work for the Government (usually tax or police) and make only $100 a month? Do they ask you for $10 or $20 for a taxi fare in the middle of the day when the metro is faster and only costs 10 cents? Do they ask you to buy them fresh out of season fruit and chocolates on the first date? Do they support other family members? Were their parents murdered or live in some unknown place? Is their mother or babushka sick? Does she dig in mama's dacha on Sunday but has immaculate and incredibly long fingernails painted with many colours? Do all of these women refuse to go home with you because "it is too dangerous"? Do they collect money for their train fare from you but will not let you go with them to the train station to go home to their alleged native city? Do they want you to fly to meet them away from Kiev and they will arrange high priced acomodation, taxis etc, but they won't stay with you in the apartment? Do they want hundreds of bucks for a taxi ride to meet or collect you? Do they tell you a pack of lies? Need I go on???? The haughtiness of the pro daters is breathtaking. However, you do get to spend time with a young and attractive female so maybe it is worth it. I am amazed how few of them make any effort to be charming during the first date. Some were after a casual meeting some were after translation fees and some were shoppers. Many were no shows! I steered clear of marriage agencies as their business is actually translation, gift and apartment services not getting the partner you want. I only was interested in girls who can converse in english. I was not particularly interested in marriage but certainly a serious relationship. I had the flexibility in my life to spend a lot of time in Ukraine - 1 year in last 3 years. I have learnt to read and speak basic Russian. I use local introduction sites. I have probably wasted $1000 on women that I sent money or presents to. I saw this more a test of sincerety as the cost of travelling to meet them in their obscure cities would be considerably more. More than all this I took the attitude of enjoying myself whether meetings were successful or not. I have had a lot of fun and some good learning experiences. If one site is just a sample, I would bet across the board, it would not change much. Since this site samples women from many agencies and individual profiles. I have no problem with intelligent difference of opinion. Bullying is not my style, but when I see someone speak out of context, I have no problem interjecting, not only opinion but what I know as a fact. Your comment about my wife shows you lack any class or dignity what so ever. Since one, you know nothing about my relationship with my wife, or how I treat her. Again commentary on something you know nothing about. Also I've never commented on my looks, or my financial status. It means nothing here. I've stayed in 5 star hotels and in dives. Though to look for a thousand buck a night hotel with a woman who possibly lives in a two room flat and not much material things.Shows me you put fluff ahead of substance. When new guys come on here, and he hides it throughout his posts, they think he has some authority or experience with actual travel and experience in Ukraine. Which he has never stepped foot anywhere in the FSU. This is dangerous and stupid information. One his comments can deter a guy from trying to find a womam there, or give him real bad information on how to treat a woman there and get him in to real trouble. As for facts, I have been there, I know what the people in Mariupol are like. I've intermingled in their society, and you can find decent people, you can find an beautiful and outstanding woman. When demeaning a culture and society, I think one should look at his own backyard, look at the scams and corruption there. Or at least traveled one time before making wreckless statements about a culture and people sampled only by what you have read and what you have heard. I learned some things there, being a vehement anti-communist, I found the people all didn't adhere to the ideology, they were just folks trying to raise their children and feeding their families. Afraid of speaking out because of the corrupt government. The felt powerless because of the rats in their own cities. Point being, you cannot judge and slander a society or it's women until you have lived among them. I doubt Aussieman has been anywhere besides Fiji. His incessant ranting about scammers proves that he lives in constant fear, and in fear we lash out at the defenseless and don't take it head on. Instead of defending this loser who recklessly attacks women he doesn't know, then himself trys to buy attention with a woman by sending her darts. Please spare me. He should have sent that 75 somewhere else where it would have helped.
