I had been messaging about a dozen girls with vague plans to meet all of them, but only 4 I thought were ‘possibles’, some of the girls I was messaging were not answering specific questions and this in itself was diminishing my confidence in them. The first girl I arranged to meet always answered immediately and was saying things like ‘ I cant believe I have met you, I was unsure about this internet dating but now that I have found you my life has changed; I am filled with hope and optimism’ and ‘ I am counting down the days to when we meet’. She is an English teacher, not the most attractive girl I was in contact with, but seemed the most real, and genuine and enthusiastic. I flew to Kiev and got the train to Sumy and was in my apartment at about 6 am. The agent asked me what time I would like to meet N. I thought great! She has taken some time off ! so I said how about 2pm. The agent gave me a local sim card and gave me N’s number! So I rang her at about 1pm and she sounded nice on the phone. She said about 5pm to meet. I was excited to meet her but at about 5pm she texted to say make it 7.30, because she has to work late. Here we go I thought. At 20.15 she showed up at my apartment .. she didn’t look great either .. we went to a place called Eastern Express. She seemed tired, withdrawn and so I asked her if she was happy, and she laughed like I had made a sarcastic joke … when she eventually realised I was actually asking a question she said ‘its not the kind of thing we ask in the ukraine’ . I felt really confused, she seemed the complete opposite of what I was expecting; no enthusiasm or joy at meeting me at last, no laughter or happiness .. instead this miserable cow … at 9pm she announced that she better go because she had to be up at 10.30 am to do a class … fan bleeding tastic … NOT !!?? So, it was a horrible, horrible start, but read on because this story has a very happy ending, and it will be interesting for all of you that are looking for a Ukrainian woman, because I believe I have found the reasons for a lot of the bad things we experience in this business and how to avoid the pitfalls.
