I am not a bad looking guy.(I hope) I sent out 6 letters and got 2 replies and one said right away she was not interested which is cool. I would rather have a negative reponse than no reponse. But even with the two that I am correspnding with it takes days or even weeks and then I will get a reply. Remember some of these women may not even be able to speak english and if they can that doesn't automatically mean they can read it and write it. You'll find a few that will go out of their way to be polite and at least try to reply whereas others may just simply be busy. I'm currently in contact with a Moldovan. Now she speaks literally just a few words on english and thats it. She can't really string a sentence together unless she looks it up first. I never knew this when I originally made my move on her. I stupidly assumed that as she was performing at theatres around the UK that she must speak english. I was oh so wrong. After 2.5 months of apparently trying to learn english she contacted me and still couldn't really say a lot. I ended up finding a lady that speaks russian just so we could communicate (by the way this makes your intended lady target feel like you are really making an effort on her behalf). I recently received a call to say she's in the UK so it looks as though we may be meeting eachother soon. We've seen eachother face to face and we previously made a lot of eye contact but we never actually spoke - I had my reasons at the time. My point being is that it took her 2.5 months to contact me (and that was when I had been told by one of her colleagues that she woud definately call). If it took her 2.5 months to call with a guarantee, then it could take any amount of time for a response from the women you write to. This woman you're talking about you've seen, met, are impressed with, have communicated with, and SHE contacts YOU after some months of apparent inactivity. Now you say above she's in your country, dunno why but she is. I'd know one thing I would do - I'd sleep on her doorstep China, pester her for a date, go see her (cold-canvassing, not phone), put your best feet (bugger foot) forward, but do as much as possible to be together, to hell with work or cost or whatever - she's in YOUR country now, so go show it to her! I doubt many russians are rich enough to own their own PC. MY friend who interprets for me is from bulgaria. She uses the internet for email but when I emailed her in bulgaria it took at least a week for a response. She knows me and it took her that long to respond. The girl you have written to knows nothing of you. Therefore your not going to be the most important thing in her life but she may respond after a while - supposing she can only check her email once a month??!! Thunderdome: The woman I am chasing after is in my country because she is a musical performer - a singer and a very good one I might add. She is on tour with a large company. Infact I have not ever met her and spoke to her face to face. Let me explain; I noticed her at one of the shows (I was in it) and asked her for a photo. The next show was when the eye contact started - and she was the one that started it. I was in heaven once when I noticed her looking at me like she was in some sort of hypnotic trance. I helped out as an extra in a total of 4 shows with this mutual eye contact between us. Despite the amount of eye contact neither of us ever spoke to the other one and neither of us ever smiled at the other. I admit that I was a wimp. I wasn't sure what she was thinking and only after the last show did I piece all the clues together and realise that she might have been interested (I'm no genius with women). I went home after the last show extremely dissappointed that I never managed to make a move or introduce myself to her in person. It didn't end there though. I couldn't resist knowing if she was at least interested. 12 red roses went hurtling their way towards the theatre she was next performing at (500 miles away which was in no more shows). The card invited her to call if she'd like to know me. I also knew that she had a bf in the company that she was working with. This led me to beleive that I wouldn't hear anything at all and I assumed that the eye contact was just casual flirting. WRONG!. She called. She told me "Thanks for the flowers" and "I don't speak english" and then "Bye" and that was that. Ok, I thought that was it. I found out from someone she worked with that her boyfriend is "no longer important". I immediately hit the phone and sent a 2nd bunch of flowers. Now apparently the 2nd bunch was unlike anything she had ever been given - even when she gave birth to her son apparently. 2.5 months later she felt that she'd sort of learnt enough english to call me up. It was hopeless. I didn't understand her and vice-versa. I found a new friend who speaks russian and we called her back up. It's been a bit kinda rocky ever since but we're hoping to meet next week if we get the chance - all 4 of us - Me, her, her son, and the interpreter. I'm actually scared stiff now because she's older than me and we both know it. She'a apparently a little embarrassed about it and slightly nervous but has decided to meet me anyway just "as friends" Now with regards to camping on her doorstep, pestering, cold canvassing etc I can assure you thats the quickest way to end up being charged with stalking. I must confess though I had worked out a little plan to meet her if she didn't call me though it was innocent and the interpreter also came up with the same idea (being a woman she would know what another woman would or wouldn't feel comfortable with). The best thing is to express your interest and not be too pushy to quick. Just kinda keep making it clear that you are interested and keep in regular contact. I never thought she would call me as the last time we spoke was over a month and a half ago. She said she would call me when she came to england because I was going away to the USA and the interpreter was going home which made communication impossible. Despite this she actually rung me yesterday and I'm rather excited at the thought of meeting her. Most got your ad from agencies. So it usually takes a week to read it and send reply. You can call them with phone card (0.1$ per min) but most of them can read but can not speak fluently.
