My third meeting with my Russian lady, and our second full holiday together was in Istanbul, and I have just returned home. I would like to share some of my thoughts.
It is 14 months since my first correspondance with this wonderful person. Although I chose to pursue the girl whose appearance appealed to me the most of all those in the age bracket that I was interested in, ( the age difference is fifteen and a half years,) I had no idea that she would turn out to be probably the most gentle, genuine and sincere young woman that I have ever met. If these qualities are typical of the genuine ladies out there, then I have to say that no matter how difficult a struggle this quest becomes for some of us, it is worth every dollar, dissapointment and mile spent until such a person is found.
Istanbul is a fantastic place to visit with your Russian or F.S.U. lady. It is full of culture and history, with ancient palaces, churches and mosques to visit. It is a wonderful place to eat out, though there are not many bars other than in the Taxim area.
Divided into an Asian and European section, be sure to stay in the European quarter as you will feel much more safe and accepted there. I can recommend a good agency for apartments, namely: Manzara, Istanbul.
The shopping is an amazing experience. The modern shopping street of Isticlal Caddesi near Taxim, the Egyptian Spice Market, and of course The Grand Bazzar. I refurbish houses, and I half filled my suitcase with fabrics and cushion covers that I bartered hard for. Many of the styles that they sell are becoming very fashionable in the U.K. right now, and in the Bazzar they can be purchased for a fraction of U.K. prices.
Beware of taxi drivers though. Many of them are outright thieves. They will drive you round in circles, and point to various tourist places of interest, and say for example: ''look, ancient Mosque''. Although the meter clocks up the fare in increments of a third of a Lira, when they see you looking at the place of interest they press buttons on the meter, and the fare jumps perhaps seven Lira, and they try to do this several times and extract a fare from you which is three times higher than the correct one. This happened to us twice, and on the third occasion I watched him do it, lost my temper, and frightened the shit out of him as I shouted obscenities into his face before throwing the correct fare at him. At least my lady seen my strong side. After this, we learned to use the Metro which was quick, cheap, and free of Ali Baba and the forty thieves.
I forgot to include the funniest bit:
The Turkish men are absolutely obsessed with Russian ladies. My girlfriend looks very Russian, with strong cheekbones, and those 'Russian' eyes. She is also very, very slim. As we would walk around the Bazzar or the shops, eyes would follow her everywhere. Turkish shopkeepers would nudge one another, and I could hear them whispering: ''Ruski, Ruski.'' When we would travel on the metro or the tram, even older guys sitting with their wives couldn't resist a wide eyed stare at her face or legs. I have never seen so much attention directed toward a woman, and we both found it rather amusing.
I have communicated with ladies in the Ukraine and Russia over the past two years. In December 2006, I visited Saint Petersburg, Russia and now currently live in Nikolaev, Ukraine. If anyone needs some help communicating with ladies, contact me at billgreen54@gmail.com
Same as Russian and Ukraine girls. But not Muslim. You have a lot ta learn tringa.I was in Istanbul with my girlfriend great new year,Shit country and dirty city.Muslims like the girls because they like sex not like muslim girls.
Tintin,
''Shit country and dirty city.''
No dirtier than half of the rest of the world. One has to visit poorer countries to truly experience culture.
Isn't it interesting how we can view things differently. I felt that I could happily live in that city, ( the European section.)
We met some really nice people too.
actually, istanbul ( i ve been to a few its parts) is rather clean and much cleaner than most of ukrainian cities (those dumps along the roads in dnepropetrovsk shocked me)
and yes, its history is magnificent
The the European section you say you like. you said it all.I stayed in the old town. This is the true Istanbul. only a small area caters for tourests.Rip of people.Tryed to charge me twice for hotel.Only when i hit the manager and said i will report this hotel when i get back to the uk he said oh oh we made a mistake.Same problem in Eygyp and we stayed in the best 5 star hotel.Try Tunis The Hotel Africa is the best and tunis food is really good.Stayed on the kings beach for £5 all day only 20 people.
I did not notice any local men staring at the FSU women when I was in Istanbul. FSU chicks have been around (both as traders and "Natashas") for so long that now the secondary language among the local shopkeepers has become Russian.
Drive in from Bulgaria to Istanbul and see the magnificant condo buildings and the shining Mediterranian Sea. But Istanbul itself is an old city. Wait to arrive at the SirKeci train station and Galata across the Bosphorous and it becomes the dirty old city the guy above is talking about.
No visit to Istanbul is complete without visiting the Ottoman harem and General House in Galata, now full of Romanian, Ukranian and Russian girls. Muslim countries are the worst destinations for sex tourism. Sex is hard to find, and when you do find it, it's too expensive.
I wonder what our nasfan has to rampage about this post?
I did make a constructive reply to this thread however just having had it clarified by Oleg the powers that be deleted my post because it was considered offensive and/or abusive.
In that post all I did was to question a previous poster, quite politely, as to how he became such an authority on the prices of a certain 'product' in Istanbul :)
