The forum was recently visted by 'MANAGER' who was obviously an agency manager and commenced in naming & shaming guys who had declined to pay him/her $600 for a Ukrainian taxi and $50 per hour for an interpeter but the most annoying thing was that he/she insisted upon SHOUTING EVERYTHING :)
Following a successful report to the moderators 'MANAGER's' posts were removed however a Ukrainian domestic airfare costs circa $100, the going rate for an interpreter per hour is $10-15, a taxi per 100km costs circa $50 thus if any of you are approached to pay the prices that 'MANAGER' was demanding (pay up or be named & shamed) then tell them to go away and in short and jerky movements :)
I am satisfied with how Olga runs the forum. Once in a while I might tease her a little bit but I do not want her job and will support her how ever she runs it. With that said this forum is not a democracy it is a dictatorship and I for one do not want to decide rules. I am happy to put my 2 cents in the way I see it.
Adman,
First of all I am not 'forever' posting womens names, ID's etc. and making disparaging comments about them and secondly, if I were, are you saying the 'two wrongs make a right'?
Right let's put this 'Manager' situation in to a clear perspective:
At the time(s) that Manager's posts were appearing it was very late at night or in the early hours of the morning in Ukraine, obviously an 'agency' that works from a home address and I would speculate that Manager would have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the posts.
Manager was attempting to charge what he/she had hoped to be vunerable and/or naive guys ridiculous prices of $600 for a taxi and $50 per hour for an interpreter, anyone that knows prices in Ukraine realises the ridiculousness of such prices thus it might be said that only a 'shark' agency would attenpt to charge, indeed scam, such prices whilst demanding payment in advance.
In the first of Manager's posts/threads he/she named a guy by at least his first name, a guy who had quite politely declined the agency's proposal of these prices and Manager proceeded to post, what the guy had believed to be between himself and the lady but they were obviously not, personal communications between himself and the lady whilst 'slating him off'.
In the second of Manager's posts/threads he/she named the guy by both his first and family names and it became a replica of the first post/thread and had the moderators not put a stop to it there were probably more posts/threads to follow.
Now the moralic issues here are:
Should an agency be keeping such personal communications on file?
If we should write personal letters to a lady should we expect an agency to post them on a public forum at a later date?
Should the agency have the right to post such personal communications on a public forum?
Indeed, should we even be reading such personal communications that were posted here without the guys or ladies knowledge?
And, is that what this forum is for, for agencies to make such posts slating of guys that had quite politely declined their excessive charges and/or scams?
Anybody that thinks that the posts/threads should have remained, simply to ridicule or embarrass quite sensible guys, perhaps just for the sake of disagreeing personally with me, well we're going to have to agree to disagree!
my main concern is for Olga. The way she sometimes seems to get micromanaged I am afraid some morning I will wake up and find out she shot herself because she could not take it any more.
oz,
All I did was, via the 'report post' button, address 'Dear Moderator, Olga or Oleg, this is become ridiculous etc., it was just an amicable report of the forum being spammed etc.
What is being suggested? That Oleg has brought in the 'report post' button to bring on suicides by the staff to make savings on the company pension? :) :) :)
CHILLYWILLY,
You obviously have no respect for your wife publicly portraying her as a 'sexy baby'.
I have travelled across country in Ukraine on 3 occasions, in 2004 Odessa to Zaporozhye (in a limo) was $150, OK allowing for a rise in fuel prices etc. that might now be $200 and that was for a 6 hours drive.
Now please kindly explain where one can drive for 18 hours in Ukraine (18 hours = 3 x 6 hours @ $200 = the $600 agency is charging) and without passing a regional airport to travel by air, not bus, for a fare of circa $100.
Perhaps this is 'rocket science' CHILLYWILLY, it's obviously too much for you to absorb!
