I'm just starting to look in UA. I'm writing about 12 girls, none seem to be scammers (no money mentioned). A few have given me their cell phone numbers and a couple even their addresses (I want to send them a small gift). But none of them seem to speak the level of English I expected. Even rated at "7" they really need a translator. What I intend is to keep writing for about another month and a half, set up meetings in Kiev and Kharkov and have the girls travel to meet me. Do you think that will work? I've never been to UA, tried to check out the "morality" standard, but cannot from internet, everything is negative. Is it improper with their culture to ask them to come to me? And, of course I assume I will have to pay for their train ticket? Do I send them the money? They will probably stay overnight, do I offer their own room? Oh yeah, I'm 50, the girls are from 24 to 30 (not soliciting comments from the morality police) it's what I'm use to. I travel a lot, have a houses in FL & Costa Rica, date all over the world (except USA), was in a 2 year relationship with a 23 y.o. Romanian who was amazing. I've done the "hookers of the world tour," but now I want to settle down and my impression from my research and reading these forums is that Ukrainian women are closer to what I'm after. There seems to be an abundant amount of marriage agencies willing to take my money. But is it advisable to go there by yourself without speaking Russian? Can I get around easily? Should I hire a translator to go with me, and if yes, how much and any suggestions? Will the translator go from city to city, or can I find translators easily in each city? I plan to meet each girl, may be as many as 15. How much time do you suggest I schedule for each so we can get to know each other? Is it expensive in the cities for rooms and meals? I usually stay in nice places that have internet connections. I was thinking of 4(?) days in Kiev, 4(?) days in Kharkov, but many of the girls are from Simferopol. Should I plan 4(?) days there too? I have already told each girl that my goal is to write for a while, come visit to meet with the girls I'm writing to. If we connect, I will choose which one is the best fit and invite her to come to Costa Rica for a month. I pay for passport, visa, travel insurance and round trip airplane ticket. If we work out, we will move forward from there. If not, I'll send her home with $1000 for her stopping her job and having to find another one (just a thought, any comments?). Is June a good month for weather? Taxis are cheap and plentiful? My cell phone works in Romania and all over Europe, it's GSM, any problem in UA? Can I buy a Sim chip for local calls? Is train the best from city to city? I’ve read it’s better to take first class? Do I plan all of this through internet travel agencies or just buy the ticket when I get there at the station? Have most of these girls been with Western men? It is my impression (again from reading) they all want to get out of the UA, find a wholesome environment to raise a family and use the skills they have learned in University. Any other suggestions you can make will be greatly appreciated. I am not an expert, but very experienced with Costa Rica, its women, its culture, prices, business opportunities, etc. If any of you need some free advice, let me know. Thanks. All signs and business labels are in cyrillic as well as the Ukrainian or Russian Language. Even something as simple as buying drinking water in the store is a nightmare unless you know haw to distinguish between water with gas, mineral water, and plain water. You might find a taxi driver that speaks English, get his phone number and call him when you need a cab. In fact you will be hounded by them at the borispol airport if you can trust them. The drivers hanging out at the airport will also charge you 2 or 3 times the going rate.There is also a phone center in the Kiev Borispol airport that you can buy a local sim card and minutes for you phone. Trains are good transpotation. 1st class has two bunks second has 4 and third is kind of like booths with 4 bunks in the booth and two lengthways on the other side of the hall. You can put luggage in compartment (bed flips up with a trunk under it. You will need help reading the tickets, locating your train the first time, and locating your seat. Your luck with the girls depends on two things, one of them is you, the other is her. Good luck. Any girl who says she can meet you outside her country...say next... month is lying. My advice to you, if you intend to spend so much time travelling around and meeting so many women is get a guide. You need an itinerary, present it to your guide and reach a business aggreement. 24-30 year olds?...I wish you luck! Expect 50% to be no shows. Im not sure what you can do in 4 days as if you like one the rest of the visit becomes pointless. No point going to Khakhiv if you already met a dream girl in Kiev. If you are only staying for 4 days the serious girls wont take you seriously, especially if you dont plan to spend the 4 days with them. Same problem with taxi drivers all over the world, they speak English, sell everything from jewlery to real estate and know how to push your buttons. Any recomendations for a guide or translator, someone trustworthy, intelligent, know when to interfer and when not to & independent(hate paying twice)? If you have name, phone no. or email I'd greatly appreciate it. Most guys in their 50's are worrying over their 401K or IRA, hate their wives, and look forward to the most exciting part of the week...18 holes of golf. I like women. I would rather travel 12,000 miles, spend thousands of dollars to be with these beautiful, intelligent and exciting women then anything my "buds" are doing. If the whole trip is a bust, what's the downside...2 weeks hanging out with babes, in a very historic country, meeting new and exciting people, eat some different(?) foods... great time, right? Isn't that why all you "regular" guys keep doing this?? In Costa Rica it is available for me to invite her from my corporation to get a visa. I brought my Romanian over there a few times, had my attorney in CR check and the visa is pretty easy. I know I have to pay the travel expenses, these girls wouldn't be talking to us if they could afford a trip like that. But what you warned me about is good to keep in mind as a sign of a scam. I had one recently from another site (Plenty of Fish). She came on so strong sexually, a lot of provocative photos and sexual suggestions; told me how I was the man of her dreams, blah, blah, blah...and needed to come see me in Costa Rica immediately because she just couldn't allow me to live alone anymore. How long does it take for them to get a passport and visa? Do you know? I was figuring after I went back home, she would come in about a month. When I try to get info from the internet I get the impression every girl is beautiful and is a prosititute, they want sex on the train, sex in the taxi, sex, sex, etc. But unless I'm really missing it here, it seems the girls on this site are all working regular jobs or in school and have a fairly strict moral code. I read this idea about getting the girls to travel to the bigger cities on this forum. They had suggested the same thing, a shopping trip. I realize an old guy like me ain't too likely to land a beautiful 28 year old, but I enjoy trying. However you brought to mind, if the girl is real serious about coming to Costa Rica with me she would want me to meet her family? Yes? So do most of you regular guys just go over there to get laid, or are you finding the love of your life, the one you want to settle down with? If they won't give it, I cross them off. I have used the service of florists before to deliver flowers to girls at the address they give, then the florist takes their photo while delivering. You said the serious girls will not take me serious if I am there for 4 days and don't spend it with them. Do you mean if I tell them I'm coming, they will expect I am coming only to see them? Don't mean to scare you but it is a fricken minefield out there and you have your skinny little ass on the firing line. It is not for the meek or shy, rejection is the most likely term used but if you can deal with that, you can have some fun. Girls are beautiful, smart and mostly get what they want. This is not a resort that you are 'hanging out with babes', you can only purchase their company. It is hard as hell finding sincere girls because many western men with no life tend to want to buy girls attention and as any human knows, we are creatures of behavior, if one girl is showered with gifts she will expect that of others. Simferopol is full of girls that are letter writers and seem not to be sincere, at least that is what I have found. As far as girls, I usually have 4-5 in each city to visit, I don't care if they only want to see me, I have run into problems when first or second girl turns out bad, I don't want to be left searching for a girl( agency route). Don't lie to girls, if they ask about who I am seeing, I tell them I am seeing friends, that all I say. I put girls in order of who I think is more a match for me to the least. If first girl works out, great, I will stay with her but I tell them, that I will meet with someone else who I have been writing to for long time and are good friends with. There was a time I had 2 girls at same time in cafe, kind of complicated. I try to be friends first, this they know from letters, I tell them I write to several girls so they do not think they are only girl. Many will tell you if the girl speaks English and it doesnt take long to learn to navigate them. I usually would say Im visiting soon and in about 1 in 20 contacts I would get a phone number. Whether I rang it depended on how successful I was with the main attractions. As to success, I am planning to get married in August. We have been seeing each other for 3.5 years. I have the good fortune to work in Africa and spend my R&R in Ukraine so there was no great pressure on a quick romance. I met her on my second trip. I may be lucky but I am overweight, 29 years older than her and she is very good looking. Pretty much what most of the guys here are like so the bottom line is go for it!
