Okay - this is just an interesting (I think) story - that might shed a little light for a few guys.
My current fiance is NOT all about money or shopping. I can rarely get her to even GO shopping and I have to OFFER to buy her something to get her even to cooperate with me as to what she wants. First understand that.
But in casual conversation, I mentioned that I intended to send her a parcel with a few items from my country - and she asked me if I could include some mascara, if it wouldn't be too much trouble. She asked me to send her an American brand.
Well off to the store I went, not knowing a thing about mascara. I discovered that there are some 20 (maybe) brands, colors including brown, brown black, black, double black... different shaped brushes. It was very confusing but I selected one - COVER GIRL (seemed American enough to me) and told her about it next time I called.
She seemed a little disappointed next time I called. What she really wanted was Max Factor - but she had been hesitant to ask specifically for it. At THAt I recalled seeing the Max Factor ads on Ukrainian television. Lots of very fast graphic shots of beautiful women - deep mans voice, only thing I understood was the heavily accented brand name "MAUX FAUCTOR!!!"
No problem I told her - I could exchange it. She asked me how much Max Factor costed in the US - I told her I couldn't recall. She told me that it STARTED at 100 grievna in Ukraine and went up. Given the fact that she only made 20 to 25 grievna per day - that represented a WEEKS PAY!
(Remember that there is a TREMENDOUS difference between the classes in Ukraine. The rich can buy this stuff as easy (or easier) than most of us can. The working poor can only dream of what they see advertised on television everyday.)
As we spoke I looked up the product - as she described it to me, on eBay - I found it at $2.50 - shippimg was about $4.00 for any size order up to the available 25 units.
I asked her is she wanted..... FIVE of them. She was absolutely THRILLED. SHe immediately said she would love five and told me she would give one to her mother, one to her sister, one to her friend....etc. (typical Ukrainian behavior about friends nd family).
So for $16.50 - I am able to buy something for her that would have taken more than a MONTH for her to earn herself. EVERYBODY wins.
Not looking for exploitation here. I have better ways of making money than expecting my fiance to be pushing her friends for a week's pay in order to get something I pay $2.50 for.
If I can do a good thing - by bringing a few bottles and letting her give them to friends and family - tha's what I intend to do.
One evening over dinner, in Ukraine, I remarked to my wife how particularly radiant she looked and it transpired that what made the extra difference was that she was wearing bronzing powder.
Well when her next birthday was coming around I decided that one of her gifts would be bronzing powder so there I went on to European search engine 'kelkoo' to search for it. She likes most of the recognised brands but one that came up in the search results was 'Marks & Spencers' bronzing powder, I gave it some thought, that it was a uniquely British label, and then popped down to my local M & S and bought it.
She was absolutely delighted with it when I gave it to her, she knew the British shops, and was enthralled to have something that simply couldn't be bought anywhere else than M & S.
Cosmetic items in Ukraine cost circa USD50 per item, M & S bronzing powder cost GBP9 and had a much better impact!
Jetmba...nice post.
But guys, don't forget not to take any spray stuff, otherwise you'll have to leave it before you board the plane.
Or give it to the sweet natured customs official who goes through your bags and tells you to ditch it.
it seems guys here sweet taking time planning how to make their womans happy!well it was soo nice to read Good luck for to all of you i am sure your ladies will love you more:p:)

NOOGA
SEEMS you doesn't grow up boy!i just realized that most of your comments here done by a childish little boy who does not grew up!i review most of your replied and topic posted is not done by 20 year old ausie guy it was done by a little childish boy who doesn't grew up!peace nooga i just expressing what i found out.it was not good to hear you called the nice people as "idiot"may you have a good life ahead of you get a life nooga!
Little Noogy, There is a big difference between being scammed and giving small gifts. These women do not ask for anything but it means a lot to them to get a a little present from you not for the present but because you made the effort to do something for them.
Spray can be brought if it is in your checked luggage. That is if they do not loose your luggage. Because it kind of sucks to be sitting here in Ukraine with one shirt, one pair of pants, one pair of underwear, (did have extra socks in my carry on) that was worn for two days on the airplane and train. First time in my life I ironed my underwear (not to get the wrinkles out but to get them dry after washing them in the sink)
Thank goodness I picked up a souvenir at each airport or I would have no gifts with me. The little blue NYPD teddy bear brought a warm smile.
I believe it is time for you to get laid, I judge you old enough for it now.
It would help you to grow up a bit, "mature" with a difficult word, but the actual meaning of that word just comes to you with age, trust me on this.
I know Jet a bit, mind: a bit, however quite a bit 'longer' than you. You see, again that timeframe, 'age' if you like, comes into play.
Suure, when I was your age I also knew it all, but in hindsight - an exact science if ever there was one! - there's a smirk on me mug now. You'll get there, hopefully sooner than later, and then you will see that attacking or poking the likes of Jet actually is, quite honest, a bit childish.
So go offload your testosterone overdose, the proper way that is!
Doesn't Nooga remind you of that idiot BlueIce or whatever from a couple of years ago with his hahaha's and talking about sexual positions. Probably something he's never experienced except thumping his own lap with his hands.
God where do these idiots come from and don't they have anything else to do?d
"A litttle on pricey side but Dior Show is best mascarea on market. If you want to make an impression. "
Beemer:
It might be pricier, more exclusive, and more impressive. But unless you actually have first hand knowledge on wearing the stuff (and lets hope not), its hard to say its better.
I'm not TRYING to find a girl I have to with the most impressive and exclusive products. Not into conspicuous consumption (for any Thortsein Veblen fans out there). I couldn't afford to keep her anyway, ESPECIALLY after I brought her back to the USA. If she is in to that - well, then I wouldn't be in to her. Don't want a girl who thinks BMW, is second rate ("beemer") and insists on Maybach. I can find girls who are just into status in America.
Jet...no I have no first hand knowledge in applying mascara other than time I was dressed for halloween. I just know many girls in the industry and it rated near top. It is probably best described as RAM on computer, 512 was fast until you experienced how fast gig's are. But as all things, people have their preferences, mine was just a suggestion.Have a great day!!
