Is it easy to rent a car and drive around there? I only have a few girls to meet and I need to go from Sumi to Meitpol. Thanks everyone kiwinorth Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 4/23/2008 7:29:02 PM   hi there Matt, hey i have only been to Ukraine once, but I'm there again very soon, got a three month visa starting in a few weeks. interpreter agencies are everywhere, something i noticed, easy got. if you deal will a agency for ladies they will have them and it seems a almost compulsory thing for ladies to have is a interpreter on their side from there agency's. one has to be careful these interpreters can be as corrupt as some lady's themselves, as they work together sometimes. as cars i was told only Ukraine's can rent cars, but getting good information there can be a ordeal, so that is possibly wrong. as driving, there road signing is a major to understand:) have you been to new zealand, well they drive like us, its madness, roads are tight, at speed everywhere. i myself just wouldn't drive because they also drive on opposite side of road to us, my brain would f**f up due to this and the speed of things and the road laws, and signposts and there continuous need to use their horn. road rage just waiting to happen:) no one beeps here if you don't like confrontations, ultimate insult to a kiwi, the horn:) there roads a very good, a few holes to catch the odd bike but overall good. that surprised me because the way they make them is a poor effort. what amazed me we have more dents on our cars here then there. go by train or fly Matt, this next trip i still wouldn't dream of driving. hey renting a car and driver is very cheap anyway. OM Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 4/23/2008 10:39:27 PM   Kiwi I rented a car in Yalta from US, but is not easy to drive, the roads are beautiful next to clifts and black sea but the drives do not care for the view and you have to be watching them and I did not enjoy, however the girl love to drive a few kilometers and for her was a great treat. The roads are in decent shape but drive in some cities like Odessa is not fun. It can be EAST - like in western countries in the 1960's (so I'm told) during the sexual revolution BEFORE HIV and other nasty illnesses that a simple injection wouldn't cure.. But don't hold your breath that I will ever make that decision. Not the smallest reason is that despite the easy availability of sex in Ukraine the place DOES have an abnormally high rate of STDs even compared to any other FSU country. jetmba. I am currently preparing to bring her to the US on a fiance visa and I am CONSTANTLY hearing from her that I am not moving fast enough. I met her at a Romance Social in Ukraine, put on by AFA (A Foreign Affair). These are, in essence, three gatherings (parties?) conducted in Ukraine with 200 to 250 different women on three seperate nights. I never wrote to ANY of these women in advance and the sole expense I incurred was the $800 it cost to attend the three Romance Socials. There, you have a chance to meet the girls face to face, and roughly a week to date them afterward. If things work out, of course, you make arrangements to see her again. I met her nearly exactly a year ago - in April 2007. I returned and spent 3 weeks with her in Yalta in July/August of 2007 and again in January of 2008 for about three weeks. PREVIOUSLY I was engaged to a 27 year old Moldovan, who I admit I still care for. I also met her at A Romance Social - in 2003, in Odessa Ukraine. We were engaged for about two years before I brought her to the US. SHe elected to return to Moldova as she was the only child of a widow and missed her mother very much. I have been there since to see her and we considered marriage at that point. I also have been to Latvia where I met a wonderufl woman - but we did not become engaged. All totalled - I have made NINE trip to the FSU and except for the 2 sets of three Romance Socials (six Socials altogether) I have never spent anymore money than a typical plane ticket and an inexpensive hotel or apartment costs. I have never written letters to any women except a few just to tell them that I was coming and asking ofr their phone numbers. You mention that you were planning to meet six, but that after meeting your special lady the game was over. How much time did you allow for each lady (did you plan to be there a couple weeks perhaps?)? And how much time did you eventually spend with your, now, betrothed?
