Is this the new American/Russian style of “Cold War” ???????? Nearly every Movie coming out now – has the bad guys being Russian and when ever there is any documentary or filming it focuses on the Snow – Vodka – round coated old women and black dressed Mafia looking men. I believe the US (and others) must be very worried Re Russia’s very rapid climb in World rankings. Not to mention the rule and pending control/influences they might have regarding the West’s declining natural resources !!!!!!! For example when I think of Australia I visualise just beachs and when people come to my country they expect little stone fences everywhere. And to be welcomed with 'Top of the morning to you' When in truth its the second-richest (on a GDP-per-capita basis) in the European Union. In relation to every movie coming out now is about mafia looking people. I didnt hear the Italians complain when every second movie was about Italian mafia. Or those years of American Westerns, or did they think that the whole of America was just cowboys chasing indians! In my own country we arnt worried Russias growing wealth or influence for me im happy to see the country doing well and the people prospering.However you seem to worry about the encirclement of Russia as eastern European one after another join the Eu. America and the west are so far ahead now military wise it would be impossible to catch up America alone spends nearly half the total worlds expenditure on military. I am a Kiwi married to a Russian, so I not “worry too much how everyone else in the world views me” just annoyed that done on such a high stage. Especially that a huge percentage of the viewers will continue to believe its true. We have always chuckled about the – the bad guy in the movie is Russian – or peoples perception, as you say, that it snows 365 days a year etc etc – but that performance I found embarrassing to say the least !!! I've never seen one episode. Nor would I the whole premise is insulting. 2 We don't spend half our money on a military budget. We give more away to third world countries than we spend on our military. 3 Hollywood is full of idiots that couldn't pass an 8th grade history exam but because they are on the big screen morons give them some intellectual credence. Sean Penn political science genius, hell he can't hardly spell. 4 If Robin Williams was on American Idol his career is now in the tank. 5 The 7th Calvary wasn't the only ones chasing Indians. The 2nd, 9th and 10th were very dominant then, The 7th claims fame for getting their asses kicked. Wounded Knee massacre happened 14 years after Custers death. 6 Russia's criminal element rose during Glasnost/Perestroyka. 7 Putin is dangerous on the world stage, you can see how he's strong arming the EU with Oil. 8 Putin is an oligarch,Why is he now the PM, he isn't giving up any power and still calls the shots.We have a saying in the States, Once OSI, always OSI, it's the same for KGB. If Putin was straight up he would give the Brits they guy they want who is suspected in the murder of Alexander Litvinenko but too much dirt would come out on that. 9 Russia does want to become a world player again. Penn thought he would try and ingratiate and empathise with the black people there-so he got into a boat to try and rescue some black people stranded in the floods-and his boat SANK, HA HA HA what a laugh the silly focker. We both looking forward to our trip to Kiev in 4 weeks. She got hooked on A-Idol and must say I got to enjoy myself. Especially the initial talent interviews. Very strong following her in NZ. I hate gardening, I've hated it since I was a kid, when my Dad made me work in it while my friends were playing baseball or football or whatever. Whats bad about American Idol and the seemingly endless shit that comes out of Hollywood is the perception the rest of the world gets of Americans. Two years later Larissa now comments the images sent back to Europe about America is nothing like it seems. Reality TV as they like to call it is so far from reality it's absurd. Idiots like Sean Penn and Danny Glover and that ilk try to improve their careers on the backs of decent citizens. If they love dictators so much why in the hell don't they move to Cuba or somewhere else? Putin is an interesting character. I've been reading a lot about him lately. He's a talented but ruthless politician, so I guess maybe talent isn't really needed with gunboat diplomacy. I love the Putin Stare. It's so devoid of emotion and he has those steel blue eyes that pierce through metal. I know why the ladies are crazy about him. I wouldn't put much stock in Alexander Lebedevs rumors about Putin and Alina Kabaeva. Lebedev is been a Putin detractor for years. Though I haven't found a real good source but it seems Putin has been divorced from his wife Lyudmila for a short time. I don't think Putin gets tired. The guys in excellent shape and still stays up with his martial arts. It was women fighting.
