Hi I was corresponding with a girl named Maria from Novyy tor' yal, but when I moved I lost all of her information with my internet change. The only lead I have to work with is she works in pediatrics. Can anyone give me advice in tracking her down?
Why don't you wait until she gets in touch with you? Surely she has your contact information if you've already been corresponding with her.
Are you sure she's just not interested any more?
Before I moved she had her visa and was planning to come see me. I told her I would send her my new e-mail when I got it changed. When I canceled my internet I lost all my e-mail addresses. She has my old e-mail, which is basically the same except the source. I think she probably thinks I blew her off and is not trying to find me. I thought for sure she would be in my computer somewhere, but I can't find anything.
If you could always post USEFUL information - like above - without all the constant insults - I wouldn't have a problem with you at all.
I happen to disagree that you should only look for women with cash. I think that there are wonderful rich women as well as wonderful poor ones. But I understand your concern and feeling that women with no cash might be desperate and TOO anxious to move out of the country. And I agree that women like that MIGHT be more likely to be scammers just because of economic need.
ChefRik: First things first. She didn't have a visa and she wasn't about to be on any flight in to visit you. It simply was not happening. When, or if you get your mind around that, the balance of your question becomes insignificant. Russian Women are NOT "Order In Ribs", although they can be equally tasty. If you want a taste, it is counter service only, in other words, you go visit and you might taste the morsal (Don't count on it), you wait for the doorbell to ring and you'll do none other than part with your cash and waste your time.
Sounds like Pavlovs dog..the dog only salivated when it saw food but would not eat it until the bell was rung!..this was a inconsequential, irrelevant comment!
Jees people..I didn't mean to start a squabble...lol. As I said, Maria already had her visa and she was saving money to get here. We had been writing each other for months. Her letters were sincere. With every letter she sent a picture of her everyday life. She spoke with her parents about seeing me, and she wasn't asking me for money. She may live in the "poor" area, but she does seem to have a decent job. I mean working in pediatrics must take some type of education. She is 30 and I disagree that people have to have their life completely in order at that age. I'm 40, and an ex business owner that just finished culinary school. I still don't have everything completely in order. When we last spoke I was finishing school and was moving back to my hometown. Unfortunately my Russian isn't very good..lol. I couldn't even remember her last name. All I know is it starts with an S. I took the computer for granted and didn't realize when you cancel an internet account you lose your information. Before I moved Maria was getting pretty serious and made me nervous. I told her I felt this way just before I moved, but did not want to stop chatting with her. I feel that she believes that I lost interest and didn't write back so she isn't trying to contact me. Anyway, I just thought I would try this in hopes of finding her. If she's trying to scam me then she is damn good at what she does. If she is trying to escape poverty and is wanting to meet me in hopes of a better life....GREAT. I think I would rather have a woman that appreciates the little things in life than the money grubbing American women I've encountered thus far.
'you dont want to hear it but she is a scammer' hahha straight from a guy who got scammed.
Not all of us are dumb enough to get scammed, especially in PERSON, but few of us are not that bright. Chef seems to make some sense and didn't send money( I presume). If no money spent..there is no problem other than getting in touch with girl. I do wonder about getting visa first then saving money, that part doesn't make sense....just like post before me...........

If I was you and I really thought she was for real. I would yake my laptop to a computor geek and have him find the lost information, They nearly always can.
ChefRik: Stop chasing rainbows. Photos of everyday life? What evidence do you have this was who you were talking to? If it was, what evidence do you have she wasn't married to "The Boss"? Did you google any extracts of letters and see how many times they showed up? This has every hallmark of the modern scam. Her job would pay, if in fact it exists which I seriously doubt because it is the same line used by the other 150 000 scammers, about $100-$250 per month if she was in a decent hospital. A legitimate visa did not exist. She wasn't arriving to visit you and yes the bite was comming, about the time she was due to fly out. I'll even bet her socalled flight plan would have checked out. You should understand the scam business is serious business that, for the most part, is run by highly organised professionals who are about 10 years ahead of you. Many of them will have 2 or 3 university degrees, often in IT or Economics. They pay attention to detail (The better ones) and yes they do start setting you up months and sometimes a year or more in advance.
Your most sensible, in reality, only practical course of action is to start your search again, and FWIW, be thankful you lost her email because you were travelling a destructive road, it was merely a matter of time. I've lost count of how many guys have contacted me asking for my wife's assistance in finding someone who clearly never existed. One poor clown sat it out at JFK for 3 days waiting for the ..............to arrive and even then asked for more help to locate her because something had obviously gone terribly wrong. It sure had, he was $2000 poorer and Russia was $2000 richer with no exchange of goods or services.
Here is a few clues to watch for. (Just a few as there is thousands more)
1) Strong feelings in letters before meeting = Scam
2) 22 Y/O Dentists or Doctors = Scam
3) No home internet (Usually) = Scam
4) Have visa = Scam
5) Sexy photos = Scam
6) Family problems = Scam
7) Comming to meet you in your country = Scam
"I took the computer for granted and didn't realize when you cancel an internet account you lose your information. "
Thats a good tip for ANYONE (not just those interested in FSU ladies.)
ALWAYS use an email address provided by a big free service provider - like hotmail etc. so that when you move your service to a new provider you can STILL SIGN ON and retain all of your old information.
The fact that she sent a picture of herself to you every day isn't a good thing. Thats often the sign of a well organized scammer. I told the forum about a guy I kew who started getting letters through Yahoo's dating service - turned out the Russian lady had just given a random zip code and found his ad in the Personals Service - she wrote many lettes to him - each time sending an incredible (professionally taken) picture of herself. Eventually he may or may not have sent the money she was requesting (depends on who you ask) and she never showed up at the airport.
But I've never heard of a REAL lady who sent a picture of herslef each time. Maybe I'm wrong (because I've never been a letter writer) but it seems to be a scammer tendency.

She doesn't come from the same city but the pictures (not the top one) look very similar to your avatar.
yes, I did jet but I don't think it is same lady. No money was asked for, at least not revealed. It may be that when it is time to come...money may be asked for and danny may be right...what is this world coming to!!!
