Hi guys, I need some honest answers to 2 questions: 1. Do they send out "bait" emails to men with "Basic" level profiles in order to get them to sign up for a higher service level? Seems like a sneaky thing to do, but I've got some real cuties who have wrote me letters, and I'm curious to know what they've said. I just wonder if they are real. 2. Is it really worth the money for this site? I admit I am a newbie, but have been lured in by the prospect of an attractive Russian romance & marriage. But with so many sites out there, I just don't know which are legit and which are scams. So, can someone give me the 411 on this? Thanks :)

First of all - I don't advocate sending letters at all - I think you should just go there - to a Romance Social and meet real live women, so therefore I am really not able to answer your first question. If you ABSOLUTELY can't go - and/or you need contact information on women (in my case as backup) this site is a great one. You get a lot for the money you pay - and they don't charge per letter. ANd no I'm not on fiance.com's PAID STAFF!

Out of curiosity, Jet, what exactly do you mean by 'getting a lot for the money you pay'. Is it to have backups just in case? I can speak a little about this site, since I was here for almost 2 years. It seems fairly legit but there are girls here that are not sincere, just like many other sites. But what is the use of phone number or meeting if 'something comes up' or she never answers phone or would not give you her number.....all bad signs from a girl. Never encountered 'bait' emails from this site. They are more prevelent on pay-per-letter sites. Your curiosity Beijoguy.... can cost you about $79.95 amonth!! :)))

beemer: Got to admit when I used the fiance.com's services as a backup it was $29.95 (maybe $34.95) per month VIP. I see it has gone up in price. Still you don't pay per letter and you get a lot of names. From what I recall it was pretty good.

Jet, what I don't understand is why most letters on monthly pay are just a couple sentences, while on pay per letter you get several paragraphs and from my history with both, cannot distingush if one has more or less insincere girls. It is so easy to get info from here but that doesn't translate to having a meeting. From my last experience here, girls didn't answered phone, was sick or wanted to have friends along...not what I had hoped for...while on 'a' pay per letter site ( we all know this one), only 1 girl I did not meet with. Final score was...unlimited 2 of 6, pay per letter 3 of 4. You are absolutely right on one thing, meeting girl in person is ONLY way to know her. I read somewhere that in a relationship....20% is through letters and phone, while 80% is after you meet in person.

Thanks for the input, guys. I don't have problem meeting women from other local site (Match, Yahoo, etc.), but from what I had read it appeared as if the Russian women were more dedicated as wives. I'm not overly attracted to Asian women, and (again from what I have read) the South American women are a little more on the "wild" side. Again this is just what I have read on many blogs, so please don't think I am being predjudiced. Going to Russia (or wherever over there) is not an option for me right now. Perhaps in the near future. Plus, what if I spend the money to go to one of these functions and the one I go to ends up being a dud? I'm wondering if I should spring for one month on the VIP here and milk it for all it's worth? I'm not trying to be a downer, I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here, and I'm very cautious becuase I have been burned before for almost $5,000 (though it wasn't an dating/marriage site). In regards to what Danny3777 wrote: what whould I be looking at price-wise for a trip to Russia/Ukraine to visit a dating agency?

First of all, ignore danny3777. He offers no advice that makes any sense. He is only here to disrupt the forum. Think of him as a pesky mosquito that buzzes your ear as you try to sleep at night. No matter how much you swat at it, it won't go away. If you just show up at a dating agency - you are likely to get set up with a professional dater, or several. I went to a Romance Social. Actually two sets (of three) four years apart. At the first, held in Odessa Ukraine in 2003 - I met an incredible Moldovan - who I was later engaged to. She returned to Moldova to her widowed mother - but we are still great friends. No hard feelings. At the second, held in Donetsk and Mariupol - I met a wonderful Ukrainian who I am NOW engaged to. These women are incredible - everything and more than you have ever dreamed of. And I'm here to attest that Romance Socials WORK. They are a little pricey. I refer you to loveme.com for all the details. But I am certainly a happy client. Or you could do what danny did. Meet a girl. Get her pregnant. Buy her a house. Don't marry so you can run away when raising a child gets to be too much for you.

I'm back. I went to Ukraine for 2 months in Dec-Jan... then headed to Colombia for another two months in Spring. Tons of women, lots of insincerity. No keepers though, had to throw em back unfortunately (fortunately). >BEEM I see your finally catching on to what I already observed... You get a lot more attention if you DO pay for a single letter. A girl is going to get slammed with a LOT of letters on the pay-per-month setup. And she's not going to take you half as serious as if you paid for a special letter to her. Since I write as a hobby, its better for me to use a pay-per-letter site, due to the quality. I'm not into quantity of lots of letters or attention from girls to get my ego stroked. If I need that, I'd just swing into a singles bar in a foreign country. If your on the above average scale of looks... omfg... And NO! It's not actually cool to have a dozen young girls eyeing you like your a piece of meat being served up as a main course at a totally lit night club. Okay, if they were all super-hot young bikini model types... maybe... but if they're not and they all are getting mad at you because your friend / translator thought it would be fun if his girlfriend tried to setup her single girlfriends. But picture what might happen if your not into dancing with any of them... just picture being the center of much unwanted attention as you try to scan the club to find just one really cute girl to pay attention to you as your surrounded by a pack of angry hyenas that think your a stuck up ass. ;) ... my last weekend in Cali Colombia. True Story. Omfg... and none were older than 20! Except my translator / chauffer's girl.

Hey apal...you alive!!!! I am going to a C. A. country for a few days...I'll see what these latin girls are like...one up on you though...I can speak the language. Find out for myself about being surrounded by bunch of young girls.....only I won't LOOK like a tourist. Mainly for fun and dancing thou!!!
