Bass,
When I sent something over I found UPS to be cheaper than DHL, there is also TNT to try, I think you can source costs from their websites.
I wouldn't recommend using a courier company other than the 'biggies', they may deal with tin pot couriers within Ukraine and, as they say, you get, or indeed don't get, what you pay for.
A word of warning, the UK post office offer a guaranteed (courier type) delivery for much less than the couriers charge. Well I tried that to send something to Uzbekistan some 6 years ago, the post office wouldn't accept that Uzbekistan was not in Europe, they said it was, and that delivery never arrived ..... they're probably still trying to find a place called Uzbekistan in Europe :)
Sounds like a nightmare Martin, how long does it take to send something from the Uk its been up to 3 weeks from Ireland . I remember sending one letter on a wens to Oz and one to the Ukraine same day ,.the Oz one arrived the following monday and they Ukr one took 2 half weeks!
Nothing has been lost in the post on me thank goodness so far. Maybe they keep items coming in and open them etc
colin,
From memory the UK post office 'advertised' a guaranteed delivery within Europe within 3 business days hence my question to them 'how long to Uzbekistan', reply 'Uzbekistan is in Europe thus 3 days', I knew myself then to be on a loser!
But when the shipment didn't arrive it transpired that they only shipped from UK to UZ once or twice a week hence 3 business days was literally impossible to achieve.
With the likes of UPS & DHL well one can go for a quickie or less quickie delivery but, unless it is anything of any value that the buggers in Kiev may hold for ransom, they normally achieve what they charge you for.
