I've used both, and as a male I've had much better times using a male translator. I have yet to get a female translator to side on my behalf during any meeting.
Okay in South America, I always recommend a male translator, because they will let you in on when a girl is trying to scam on you or if they seem legit. Try to get one with a family for the serious meetings, and the single guy if you do the dating scene and like to meet girls in clubs or in the mall.
I have heard mixed reports on using male translators in Ukraine, and all my translators were women who kept secrets from me and wouldn't let me know certain things.
If you need one you shouldn't be there. If you must have one, females are more fun. Interesting to watch their twisted sneaky ways. Also, you have two bites at the cherry, or two cherries to bite at, whichever way you choose to see it. Building a romance via a 3rd person is madness. Something like having the motherinlaw on the honeymoon to give instructions.
I'm sure your the expert ladies man and every single guy who doesn't speak fluent Russian or Spanish is not even going to get lucky. Geezus every moron has their opinion...
I never had a sneaky translator. I just assumed they wanted to find a way for me to give them money or have me pay their bar/food tab and left it at that.
It's not impossible to build romance if you don't speak their language. You sound like you haven't had much luck in this regards. Are you some sort of expert in romance? Make sure I don't listen to ANYTHING you say. There are some guys in here that used to spout off like you do, because they see things from the ugly-moron's point of view on everything...
Apal...what the pocket translator for....."need more time"...."no work"????
I usually get the...." mas..mas,ah pappi" or else "xochu bolee"!!@ :))
Remember that saying...actions speak louder than words....don't try to explain your way out of
problems!!!!!
this is a goodod topic, I live in East Ukraine, when I first moved here, at the start of a relationship. I would much perfer a young Ukrainian guy to traslate, I have a low opinion of Ukrainian guys, but one thing I admire is that they know and understand their girls, if you can find a ukraine guy you can kind of half-ass trust (a tall order)use him, local guys understand these girls, they are more apt to tell you if she's scamming than a female translator, when I would perfer a girl translator is when the relationship has became intimate, now I can speak the basics; therfore, no need for a traslator. just my thoughts.
I would say Id prefer the female translator,I have a American friend who was in the US army and stationed in Bosnia for a time. He married his translator last year in America he is 31 and she is 29. Even though she often used to translate different conversations with ladies he met while there. They are very happy and have 1 child she is working etc too. She is actually a muslim although that shouldnt matter much and he is Christian. His only gripe would be they never slept together before they married she was actually a virgin and he is a very sexual person and feels he dosnt get enough. And he would have second thoughts if he had of known it would be like this. But I would think in many relationships once a child comes into the picture and if the lady is working it becomes harder for 'intimate' times to happen.
I used a translator when in Ukraine and she was a elderly lady with totally fluent English although my girl had a good bit of English she just felt better with her for certain words she didnt know. Also she was a friend of her mothers. She was a lovely lady and we had many interesting conversations she said she found it fascinating to talk to someone from my part of the world. When we went for lunch she would leave us alone and never got a free mean off me. We later became friends and I often ask for her advice on different things she is very knowledgeable.I asked her how much do I have to pay her and she said you dont charge friends meaning both me and my partners mother.
If anyone needs translation or a translator when in Uzhgorod or the surrounded areas I would be happy to pass her email on. She is acredited and translated all my documents for marriage etc as well. Totally honest and a great person.
batman sorry to hear it only takes you 10 seconds ..... there are some good books avalable to learn how to control your mind . mabey it will help you last a bit longer and give you more time to enjoy with your lady . once you have one !
Sorry about that but your mom was too darn hot to handle. Don't worry, I treated her right and spooned with her after and besides I'd be ashamed to have a punk like you call me daddy.
Colin> That lady had pure charm, if you have her contact info, I'd love to use her one day. Any translator that skips on a meal is first-class. One or two I used in Ukraine ordered the most expensive meal when they could. ;) Yet some don't.
Dun> I get disgruntled when someone busts into any topic and throws their 2-pennies worth into a convo and the ante is $1 of common sense...
